Gravelshire / Re: Temple (Irwin Short Scene)
« Last post by Echo Scottua on January 07, 2019, 06:12:01 pm »
Echo's smile lingered as she was acknowledged, and then her attention went to the shelves and cabinets. Reminiscence crept into her thoughts as objects caught her gaze. Her childhood home was once filled with many objects like these - her mother's tastes. Many similar items Echo broke. Many similar items Echo sold. She wondered if her mother came to this shop at all to buy these things. And how often as well - the prices on these items wouldn't have Echo purchasing any item for a very long time.

It was difficult to not have her attention waver when the customer being served was so bold. She mentioned the Riverperson, which sparked the thought of an unlikely friendship between a character so loud and one so quiet. At least that was Echo's judgement when she spotted the cloak associated with the ferry.

The latest comment about falling short to buy a product particularly caught her interest. Two customers in a shop with shallow pockets? Echo mused to herself. In a shop like this, what are the odds?

The firecracker smiled brilliantly at the shopkeeper’s reassurance, “Oh yes indeedy! It happens to me more often than I’d like to admit, but hey, it’s a great way to meet more monsters!” she agreed as he accepted her handshake. Whether not Irwin had a resilience to fire, Fia wouldn’t know, for the sentient elemental had some level of magic to her flames so that she could make her flames and fireworks harmless whenever she was near other monsters. After all, it would be unfortunate for the otherwise for she would then have trouble interacting with others or picking up objects without burning them.

After the interoductions Fia turned to the nearest item on display and pointed at it, “Oooooh! That looks positively flaming!” she began before tilting her head to the side slightly with a mild look of confusion, “…but I have no idea what it is. What exactly do you sell here?”
There was a brief pause at the following two questions before she cast him a sheepish smile but such a smile soon evolved into erratic movements as she pratered on, “Well, she’s actually a new friend so I don’t know that much about her – which is actually pretty cool because it then means I could learn so much more about her! There’s nothing quite like meeting someone super cooly-cool-cool-goose yanno? Have you met Riverperson before? Like, have you even had a boat ride with her? If not surely you’ve heard of her at least? Caaaaause if so it’s for her! I have a sneaking suspicion that her favourite colour might be blue though! Dark blue. Or do you think it’s a bad assumption because it’s the colour of her cloak? I’d like to get her something special since she’s been absolutely blazing!”

Fia’s vibrant green eyes lit up at the sight of the jewel-encrusted box, “Holy bunsen burners that is absolutely beautiful! Did you make it? I haven’t seen anything quite so eloquent before!” she cheered with high praise and without hesitation fished for her wallet from the small bag she carried, ready to pay for it without a second thought. However, such an excited smile soon faded to an embarrassed one. There was a reason why she hadn’t seen something as beautiful as that box before; and that was because she and her family didn’t exactly have a lot of money to throw around, “Oh, um, on second thought, I might be running a little short for something like that… maybe you might have something smaller or of a lower price range? Eheh?”

Hotland / A Quiet Day

Final Froggit sat down at his miniature drink stand with a sigh. There had been a large lack of customers today, and if it kept up he was going to go out of business. He just didn't understand why nobody had turned up. He had a large variety of drinks, a few of which were his own signature creations. Perhaps it was that there were just better drink stands out there. But Final needed to stay in business or he would be broke, which would suck. Final Froggit slumped down in his chair as he prepared to get depressed.

Waterfall / Re: Waterfall Sonata Reprise (Undyne and ???)
« Last post by ??? on January 02, 2019, 11:47:39 pm »
”Fair enough, I don't blame you.” The mysterious individual replied casually with a hint of class. ”Really how many people would you trust that show up to be helpfully ominous, am I right?” They added with a chuckle of sorts. Regardless, they weren't particularly surprised with what Undyne said, but accepted it anyway. ”We'll see, I suppose.”

The dropped spear earned a hum of curiosity, but Undyne was left to speak as she wished for the time-being. ”Crazy is an understatement, I'll say that much.” Now, she was cooking with gas. Undyne really did catch on quick when given the right information, almost always. ”The worst part about that is... If the world rewinds again, you won't know and we will be back to square one.” Thus, the problem was put out on the table, and only two people so far would potentially know for sure. ”It is said ignorance is bliss.” Perhaps in this case specifically, that was true. Who in their right mind would want to have this kind of knowledge?

”Again, I don't blame you. I came prepared, that's all.” The armored one shrugged their shoulders slightly. Their tone didn't precisely convey the outright desire for a fight or physical confrontation. It was far more close to acceptance— accepting that it could be possible, coming from Undyne. Despite this, her answer was 'satisfactory' so to speak, since the armored enigma nodded slowly, listening intently. ”I see, I wouldn't exactly call wanting people to be the best them they can be 'foolish'. That begs the question though; what will you do to get there if our King's methods are flawed? Do you think he will listen when anyone tells him his plan was wrong? Because I think it was exactly that.”

Ruins / Re: If The Door Is Locked, Try The Window [Sans and Toriel]
« Last post by Sans on January 02, 2019, 09:12:23 pm »
Just like before hearing her laughter was a delight for Sans, if not leaving him to want to hear more.
“Cheers, Tori.” he said nonchalantly as the skeleton shuffled his way in with a casual smile. His left hand buried its way back into his pocket and the other continued to balance the cardboard box so as to not drop it and spill its contents. While the skeleton was used to the frosty climate of Snowdinhe was still willing to humor the offer, “Yeah it was a little chilly. A drink sounds nice, what do you have?” he asked before setting down the box onto the table and opened its top. Maybe even a slight tint of blue surfaced on his cheek bones when she mentioned that she was happy to see him again, “Always cool to see you too Tori. And, uh, I just wanted to drop by and check in on you after – well, everything. To make sure that you’re okay?”

The skeleton hen stepped aside to reveal that inside the box was a pie – Snails Pie to be exact. Unfortunately it wasn’t the prettiest-looking pie either, it was lopsided, burnt spots here and there and the decorative snail shells were either half-sunken-in on the crusty surface or half falling out, “I even had a go at making your favourite pie. It’s nowhere near as good as your pies but I thought to save you the trouble.” he then noticed the splash of white on his sleeve and quickly dusted it off with a bony hand, “Went a little crazy with the flour though. Heh.”

Ambiguity wasn’t exactly one of Undyne’s strong points, so she wasn’t surprised by the comment he made. Perhaps even a small part of her respected that touch of forwardness. The blue monster did however, blink with mild surprise at the bow that followed; his conduct made it more difficult for the scaled monster to maintain her dislike for him – at least, as much as she had earlier, “I don’t trust you.” she stated rather bluntly yet still respectfully in reflection to his bow, “The way you keep talking – even at the Core – you act as though you know something is going on, or is going to happen.”

While she continued to frown and as much as Undyne wanted to keep her guard up, one of the four spears behind her spoke otherwise when it shattered like glass after hearing his assertion; and what he had continued to say just confirmed what she had said earlier, “This is crazy.” Undyne muttered under her breath as she turned around to look out to the waters of Waterfall; through the gaps of her spears. Ironically those glowing weapons felt like bars of a window within the collapsed hall, like a prison She then continued with a clearer tone, “People like you and Sans knowing about this timeline stuff. How it’s happened before – many times as you’ve said but the rest of us been left in the dark about it, completely unaware.” That yellow eye turned skyward to stare at the glistening rock ceiling, “So that would mean that we have been down here longer than we have thought.”
Her hand curled into a tight fist which shuddered lightly, ‘How many times have I betrayed June?’

When the Captain turned around she was met with that convicting gaze and instinctively her expression hardened, as though to challenge it, “For real, before I really wanted to kick your arse before but now I don’t really see how that’s going to benefit anyone. Even if it is still tempting.” she said simply before pausing to give his questions some thought, “Everything is so different now but my goals are still the same. I may not be where I want to be now but I will be there to liberate monsterkind to the Surface one way or another. Maybe Asgore’s methods weren’t exactly the most ethical but we can still find other ways to free everyone and I still want to stand by his side despite everything. A pledge of my life to our king isn’t something I take lightly and I cannot just walk away from someone even when things start to get difficult or murky.”

She then shrugged, “Some find it foolish but I say there isn’t enough monsters out there that you can count on.”

When she heard his response to her question, she smiled lightly, seeing where the joke was headed, "Adore who?" She'd respond with appropriately, eager to hear the punchline. Sure enough it came shortly after and like all his jokes no matter how corny, made her laugh.

"Of course, of course, come in" Toriel would open the door, holding it open to welcome him in with a warm smile, "Come on in and get comfortable, it must be rather cold out there, would you like a hot drink?" She'd ask, before fumbling with her own hands a little shyly, "It's always lovely to see you again, what brings you here today Sans? Did something happen?" He seemed to be in a good mood though so at least maybe it was something good if anything had happened.

Delighted to that she was home, Sans' smile grew a little wider; as did his soul beat a little faster, despite maintaining a cool and calm demeanour. He couldn't stop the chuckle from escaping his teeth when he heard her reply.
'So. This is a thing now? Telling jokes through doors? Heh. This rules.' he thought to himself.

As articulate as ever when entertaining others, the skeleton followed through with coming uo with an answer on the fly.
"Adore." he said casually, maybe even with a slight trace of affection to the word. Sans waited for the predictable answer before following through, "Adore is in between us. Can I come in?"

He really couldn't even stop himself from snickering at his own joke either while he waited patiently, "Hehehehehehehehehehheh."
