- MODster River

(Potentially canon later)

It had been some time now since River first met some new friends, one being her good and rather close friend Fia, as unlikely as it seemed since the two were basically opposite's in personality, they still somehow managed to become great friends regardless and now they had planned to go shopping for the first time together! River was beyond excited and nervous at the same time, she loved spending time with her ever bubbly friend, but going out always made her anxious, and her casual wear was always the same thing... A fullbody covering dark cloak. Maybe this would give her a chance to shake things up a little though? Even if it was only ever worn in front of Zarc and close friends, at least it was something new! And she was sure she could help Fia pick out some fun new things and vice versa, they were both getting things to wear today afterall, she wondered what they'd find!

River did also worry though at what Fia might think once she saw her without her hood on, as she knew that, that was bound to happen today.. But she trusted her friend, and Fia deserved to know what her friend looked like too. Pushing the thought aside for now, River would check her phone and let Fia know she was ready to go when she was, already swaying gently from her lightly rocking boat along the riverways in her casual cloak. They had planned to meet here first before then deciding to head to whichever clothes store they decided to go to first. While waiting for her friend to arrive, River pondered which would be a good one to visit first, but the one she knew best was Zarc's.. It was still an idea, but maybe Fia had a better idea of the other stores too!

When the front door burst open upon Fia's arrival, her cloaked friend whom had been dragged along with her had remained mostly quiet and probably because the monster under the hood was trying her best not to panic and freak out at agreeing to going to a social event such as this. How could she of said no to Fia's smiling face though? Besides, she needed to go out more anyway and do more away from her boat and the riverside.
Similarly to the excited elemental, the riverperson had dressed up a little but since she hadn't originally planned to come, it was more of a slightly more decorated cloak in comparison to her usual one, having swirly looking patterns along the sleeve rims and the bottom of the cloak itself that were a starry silver in colour.

Thankfully, Fia's entrance did give the river guide a bit of time to collect her thoughts, getting to have a bit of a look around also helped to ease her as she managed to pick up on a few friendly or familiar faces, plus she hadn't come alone to this, she was with a friend. Speaking of that friend, Fia's fireworks seemed to still make River jump a little but much less then when they had first met that was for sure. When Fia turned to her and spoke in such an excited manner it brought a smile to the cloaked monster's hidden face and she did her best to pick up on all the words that the elemental was blurting out so quickly, holding up her free hand to try and steady Fia down a little bit. "_{It's no worries, anything for a friend}" She began her voice a little bit softer and quieter then usual given that she was still warming up to the area. "_{I'm sure you're better at it then you think~ I uh, well I read and write a little I suppose when I get some free time, but- Uh, I think- Well- Do you think I should enter? I'm fine to just watch too though-}" She tried her best to keep up with it all and to answer all she could for her friend, but Fia was a little fast when she was excited, but it earnt a bit of a giggle from the galaxy monster.

"_{Oh gosh, you don't have to do that for me Fia}" With her free arm she would cup a hand to one of her own cheeks although it was still hidden under her hooded cloak. She considered herself lucky though in having such a sweet friend. With Fia now letting her go, River then opted to hold her own arm instead, since her friend was also paying she didn't want for Fia to have to pay for much at all for her so she opted to not order anything for herself, it just made things easier for everyone anyway and she didn't really need to drink or eat anything right now-- That shy bubble in her stomach was keeping her feeling pretty full right now anywho. Giving a small wave to Niskel she'd smile, "Uh- I'm good for now thank you!" She came with Fia so sitting with her friend made sense to do! And the elemental had opted to sit with a rather familiar face as well! Quietly the hooded monster would follow after her friend, taking a quick moment to glance at the other monsters that had come in for the event too, most were new faces or faces she had only seen when guiding her boat and they had hitched a ride.

Reaching the table too she would sit down next to Fia and at first seemed to simply watch the way her friend spoke to the winged monster sat across from her. She was still learning about both Fia and Luis to be fair but the way Fia cradled her cheeks with her hands and rested her elbows on the table as she spoke to Luis made River raise an eyebrow with a quirked smile. She didn't say anything on it and it could simply be a part of Fia's enthusiastic personality but it got her wondering.
River would let Fia do the talking and asking questions and simply wouldn't interrupt, opting instead to give Luis a soft starry smile from under her hood with a little wave as well in greeting. It was nice to see him again after they'd all met at the cafe. Now here they were all back together again. One of Fia's questions resurfaced though in her mind, should she join? Or should she just watch? Either way it was going to be interesting to see what the monsters here did for it, even Undyne was here for this!

"Well I guess I can't argue with that~" She giggled louder, more so with his use of the words 'cutiest patootiest cutie patootie', that along with his cute little chirp-like laughs caused River to giggle so much, some of her starry freckles started to 'shoot' across her like shooting stars while bits of her galaxy-like hair that floated close by turned to look more like some sort of starry bubbles, while the laugh itself became more of a hiccup.
She'd cover her mouth soon after though, face glowing again, "Sorry~ Your chirps are so cute"

River's smile seemed to grow when Zarc's ears wiggled, she was urged to gently touch them even but she promised to tone it back "Oh you know it~" She cooed in response to the brand of danger comment.
She seemed to enjoy the pizza pies just as much as Zarc did, very glad that they had gone with the two that they had and eager to try out the other ones whenever they dropped by next! "I suppose we'll find out soon enough~" She smiled, they hadn't even fully finished this date and already she was excited for another! Given how well this one was going though, could you blame her? "We can keep coming back till we've tried them all if you wanted~"

With his arm around her, her head rested on his chest and Zarc's chin rested on her head, of course she felt as though she was comfortable and safe enough to start dozing off a little bit. When Zarc looked down and noticed though, she'd at first giggle and pout a little bit before just rubbing her cheek against his chest. "You sure are~" She'd say softly, shooting him a wink before then sitting back up. "I'd love to show you, I think it's turning out a lot nicer with the new layout-- The garden is honestly my pride and joy~ I'm proud of how it's all growing-- Believe it or not, but they seem to respond pleasantly whenever I play some of your third album as well~".

Zarc would then step over and take hold of her hands, stopping her before she got the hood up fully. River would look up at him, meeting his eyes as he softly spoke to her, telling her it was okay. As he spoke to reassure her, she closed her eyes and hung her head down a little bit, just soaking in all his words for the moment. Looking up again after he squeezed her hands and let her go, Ripley would take in a breath. He was right. He was here, it was okay, she didn't have to wear the hood if she didn't want to, but she could also wear it if she wanted. She wasn't here to decide for her at the moment and while River knew they'd be boating past that house to get to her's, she had Zarc with her. It was okay. She was okay.
With a small smile, She would grip the hood for a moment, before then letting it go and turning her small smile into a big proud one, "You're right.. Yanno..-" She'd place a finger to her lips for a moment, "I think, I'll let these stars shine out from under the hood today" Honestly, after how today had gone, it'd feel like a crime to hide herself from him and she didn't want to do that to herself either. So she wasn't going to.

"Ohoh dear~ Well, I look forward to what you have in mind then".
When asked about the tablecloth though, the bunny looked a bit surprised at first before smiling at the other monster, "If I remember correctly, it was Silversilk my Dear, and a touch of magic of course~" She made a slight glance up to her horn for a moment before softly thanking the two for coming as Zarc bowed, "Thank you both for your manners! You're more then welcome back at any time, thank you so much for coming, I'm so glad you enjoyed the meal! You have a wonderful day now~" She'd call out to the two as they left the little gingerbread house, the door giving a merry little jingle as they left.

River giggled on how his sisters reacted whenever she brought Ridley over for sleepovers "Oh? Well I guess I'll just have to make sure he comes with me the next time we have a sleepover at your place then! I'm ready for that whenever you are by the way~" She'd wink, and was that a finger gun she shot his way?
When Zarc joined in on the tune with his own, it encouraged her to add some more volume to herself, she'd always been so quiet, even with her little 'tra laa laa's and it was nice to be loud for once, she felt like she could be with Zarc.
After hopping off the boat and after Zarc gave the head of the boat a pat, a rather bubbly but also rather rough bark would come from where he had just touched as Ridley seemed to show himself again. Zarc's comment seemed the leave the wooden canine looking rather proud of himself- that is until he saw Zarc's peck on River's cheek "Certainly better then some of my sails back when we where kids, heheh~ Oomph-" River would give a light wobble on the spot after Ridley tried to wedge himself inbetween the two, trying to stand in the middle. This made River giggle lightly, kneeling down for a moment to pat his head, "Ridley! There's no need for green eyes~" She'd smile and the wooden dog would jump up first on River, getting mud on the knee part of her cloak, before then trying to do the same to Zarc- River however was quick enough to catch him before he could though, still giggling as she did. "I don't think so! Come here you!" After some even more giggling along with some playful barks, River eventually got him calmed down enough to let him go, the dog would give Zarc a look for a couple of seconds before then opting to go and disappear somewhere in River's garden around the other side of the house. "Heh, sorry about that--" She paused, smiling at how Zarc thought her place was cute and that it fitted her, "Cute huh? We already agreed on that, that title fits us both~ Thank you though, it's taken a while, but I'm happy with how the place is turning out, Ridley seems to enjoy it too" The box fort idea made her both laugh and nod enthusiastically, "Oh gosh yes! Of course! I mean, after some dancing maybe we could go dig up my moving boxes and build ourselves a nice fort"

Once on the couch, she seemed rather glad that Zarc liked what she'd done, she liked it too, it had taken a while to set up after all, but it all paid off in the end. "O-ooh~?" She put one hand to her mouth in a shy giggle on the exclusive song recordings comment, "You know how much I enjoy those~"

She looked at first a little taken aback when he asked if they could sit and cuddle for a moment, she of course nodded though, "O-of course!" She stuttered, as she let him rest down first before she'd sit down next to him, moving a hand to his chest and sitting close enough that he could put his opened arms around her if he wanted to. "Get it off your chest, you know I'll always be here to listen and support you, I do want to know what happened, but when you're ready to talk about it-" She then smiled lightly, gently resting her head against his shoulder for a moment, "That sounds wonderful Zarc~"

The more Zarc spoke on the experiences at the mines, and the further into it he got, the closer River seemed to get to him, she seemed to grow quite the worried expression on her face, she figured he might be leaving some details out that where less then pleasant to mention, but she did not push him to go into full detail. She'd go to a slip a hang into one of his after he mentioned the lollipop again. Very glad that she made it a habit to always give him one when she could. For the moment, she just let Zarc talk while gently holding onto him as they cuddled on her couch. Only once he had seemed to finish speaking for the moment, did she then speak up herself. "I-I.. Well I-" She cleared her throat, glancing aside for a moment. "I'm glad you're here now and are safe" She began, fumbling his badge with one hand while the other stayed against his chest. He was right here, alive and well but she still found herself anxious and somewhat scared. She didn't want to loose Zarc, especially not to someone like that genie or flowey. "I-I'm also.. Ah- I'm sorry, I'm just so glad you're okay-" She would take a moment to get into his lap so that she could put her arms around him and hold him tight for a few moments. In those few moments she silently cherished being able to feel him then and there, being able to hear him breathe, and feeling his soul beat in his chest. Things he did all the time that where hardly noticed. "I'm proud too, of you, I wish I had of been there with you." She'd hold her breath for a moment as he put his forehead to hers and ran a hand through her hair. She in turn moved a hand to one of his cheeks  to stroke it as she closed her eyes and kept her forehead against his. Her thoughts wandered for a moment and they didn't seem to go to the best of places, as she'd lean in more, squeezing her eyes shut as though she was trying not to cry, keeping that cheek in her hand. What he summered of his magic was interesting though, she understood the 'El Zarco' comments being made now too. "Hmm, that's- well, like I said earlier, I dont mind helping you in practicing and working out your magic whenever you'd like to, if it'd help, that's certainly interesting though Mmmm" Like Zarc earlier, River found herself caring more then she had first anticipated. The thought of that she could of lost him before even getting to tell him how she really felt about him. It scared her. She couldn't quite word exactly how it made her feel but it was scary.

Ripley would nod silently when he wanted for them to sit for a while longer, managing a small smile at that he hadn't yet thought of dances. "Of course, we can stay here as long as you need, okay?" She'd rest her head against his chest for a moment, keeping him close during this time, more then happy to stay close to him. While they cuddled though, she remember something.

When Zarc was ready, and she in turn to get back up again, she would, smiling as he took hold of her hand and summoned up some strings of darkness. She eventually burst into giggles at being called Starling though, "Oh I don't knoooow~ But I'll for sure try" She'd become surprised again as the pink crackle came from his eyes ad swirled around, making the outline of a heart. She wasn't the only one surprised by it either, as Zarc himself even looked shocked. "You're full of surprises~" She'd coo, before smiling at how he said it was because of her, "Oho~? Me? I wonder what else we could manage with that magic of yours together" She'd 'purr', returning the grin to him before bringing a finger to his lips for a moment. "Before we start, I have something for you, one moment alright~?" She'd remove her finger from his lips as she disappeared off down the hall to her room again.

A few minutes later she would come back out, she wasn't wearing her cloak anymore and seemed to opt instead for just her Dark Requiem shirt and shorts that she had, had on underneath. As she came back over though it became obvious that she had something in her hands. Stopping in front of Zarc again, she'd smile lightly, "Remember that flower crown I tried to give you all those years ago?" She began, her cheeks beginning to glow lightly as she spoke up. "Well um.. I.. I got some of the flowers I used in the original ones, the same type that is and, they where the hardest thing to get to grow in my garden, but eventually I did it and uh" With one hand, she would reach back and rub behind her neck a little shyly for a moment "Well. I made another one for you, the colours on these flowers came out better then the ones I used on the original too" She smiled lightly at pointing out the red tipped purple petals that where lightly freckled with 'stars', personally rather proud of how the flowers had came out. "I-I.. I hope you like it." She whispered softly as she glanced aside, her blush picking back up again. With that done though, she was ready to dance when Zarc was, but she felt that it was important to give him the crown before they started.

"O-oh~?" River gave a little stutter as she spoke after receiving yet another nose boop after a finger wag from Zarc, it earnt him a grin though and a cheeky one at that. Two could play at that game Mister Tenebris! She gave a cute giggle at being called a cutie patootie though "Treeeheehee! Say that again! It sounds so cute coming from you~" She'd smile so much that her cheeks began to glow again and in response she'd place her hands on them again, giving another soft giggle at how warm they felt to touch while she was like this. Only Zarc could get her like this.

She seemed rather glad that he didn't mind that she'd switched things up with their seating, choosing now instead to face him-- He seemed quite fond of the change actually. "It's also certainly got a better view, for me for sure at least~ MmmhmhmhM~" She muffled a giggle, giving him a wink, clearly meaning that the good view she had was him now of course.

River would open her mouth slightly as she watched Zarc's shadowy magic hand twirl and hold the slice in place of him for the moment-- Wait but what was he going to do with his hands then? Clearly he freed them for something. Her eyes returned to Zarc's when he asked just how guilty she was- A small and rather love-struck smile came to her face as he did "I- Ooo!!" She'd glance down to his hands- So that's what he'd planned to do with them. She half watched and half practically 'melted' in Zarc's lap as he caressed her curves like that. Blush came rushing back to her cheeks, she was facing him, there was no hiding the reaction she'd have in response to his touches.
At first she sort of raised her arms lightly to give him an easier time to move his hands along her waist. This was shortly followed by her biting her lower lip while her face flared up a glowing white again, this time brighter and more spread out then the last time. After that it was almost as if she had rolled her eyes back in enjoyment of the feeling before closing them, giving off another odd huff again shortly afterwards.
What Zarc was doing was pushing a lot of right buttons.

What he said last, followed by the tweets and clicks seemed to be that final straw for River as she seemed to shoot up into a standing position over him right after he finished his purr, her hands gently rested on his shoulders-- Those space-like eyes where coming back as well but only for a brief moment before she'd let go of his shoulders, letting out a breath. "I sho- I- I need to go to the bathroom-" She stammered looking aside. 'You can't yet- Not on the first date he wouldn't- He might not want that yet. Cool it'. She managed a quick smile for him though, running a hand gently through his hair as she got up and off him for the moment. "I won't be long, you can have that slice without me if you'd like!" With that, she'd somewhat hurry off to the door leading back out to the main room.

This somewhat startled the poor motherly bunny, who seemed to of been prepping the fireplace before River had came out, "O-oh! Is something wrong my dear? Can I get you anything?" The space lady would take a breath before giving the rabbit a smile, "I-uh- Um, a face cloth if possible would be lovely and may I ask where I might find the bathroom?" The rabbit seemed to give a little giggle at this response. "Back in your room on the far part of the wall on the left when you go in, just before the karaoke there's doors to a bathroom, there's some face cloths in there already for you! If they're not set nearby the sink, they should be in the cupboard under the sink" They'd be on the sink that is if Cherry did her chores that day!
River would quickly thank the rabbit before slipping back into the room with Zarc. She'd give him a quick giggle as she raced over to the door by where the bunny said. "I went the wrong way! Silly me!"

Once inside the bathroom, River would let out a long sigh with her back pressed against the door, taking one of the cloths as they were indeed set out on the sink soon after the sigh. After running it under warm tap water and rinsing it out to be just damp, River would bury her face in the cutely decorated cloth, giving herself a few moments to settle.
She didn't want to be too long though as she didn't want Zarc to think he'd done anything wrong, and really, she wanted to get back to being so close to him again, the entire breakfast had been wonderful with him and she didn't want to miss more of it!
When she pulled her face back out of the cloth she would glance at herself in the mirror for a moment, before giving a bit of a giggle, "Oh Ripley, you sure are a bit hopeless sometimes" She shook her head at herself, she didn't blame herself though really, it wasn't her fault Zarc was just so charming afterall.

With herself now much more calmer and the cloth set back down by the sink, she would come back out of the bathroom and would take back up her seat in Zarc's lap, still choosing to facing the other monster now that she was back.
River looked back up into Zarc's eyes with her glowing white starry ones and smiled, "Where were we~?" She'd place a finger to her lips in thought for a moment before clicking her fingers, "Ah! Right! I remember!" She would slip a hand up, and would rather elegantly press a finger to his nose in a quick boop. Revenge~!
"We where finishing off these pizza pies-- And slipping in some sweets inbetween~" Swiftly, she'd lean up, sliding her hands to his shoulders to steal a quick kiss from the monster, it wasn't as long as their last one, but she found it enjoyable still- If Zarc thought he'd get away with being so cheeky, he had another thing coming~
After the seconds had passed, she sat back down in his lap and took another slice into her hands, even if the previous one hadn't been eaten yet, just to help get the next slice ready. All the while with a big smile on her face. "Ready for more?-" She'd question as she raised an eyebrow at him, a grin still firmly spread across her lips.
She was shy, sure. But she was loving every second of being confident around Zarc, all the teases and talk from her and from him were wonderful to finally be able to do. "Or would you like some more of that special sweet first~?"

"Hmmmm~" She put a finger to her lips, "Heheh! Well you have a point, and you putting in the effort to be at your best is also, adorable~" River's smile grew bigger when he flashed her his own smile. She would giggle lightly, getting a bit lost in his eyes as well, "I meant by what I said before~ You've always had such lovely eyes" Similar to Zarc, she felt safe in his presence too. Part of why that badge was so important to her was because whenever she held it, she felt that little bit closer to Zarc and therefore, more safe. It didn't beat being in his actual presence though, but really, what could? When he moved some hair out of his face, she glanced aside and twirled a finger through her own hair for a moment, letting it fumble and fall away.

"Oh~? Is that so?" She found herself giggling again, she tried to keep them down, but with this boy? It was simply no use. "Well I-" She paused a moment, dancing was still a bit of a scary thought but. Hey, it was just her and Zarc, right? "I'm very much looking forward to that then~" Honestly, even if she wasn't that great at it, or at least thought she wasn't, she sure as hell wanted to see Zarc move his stuff.
"Well it sure is a handy thing to know now, that's for sure" She responded to his innocent eyebrow raise with a sly smirk of her own. River watched the magic shadow's swirl around her hand again, giggling as they did before opening her mouth slightly as they faded away. "Well I'd be more then happy to help you out on seeing where it can go, even if it's just letting you use it on me for practice or something" She paused for a moment, before going a little bright in the cheeks, "Th-that didn't come out exactly how I planned for it to" She became a little flustered, hiding down behind the collar of Zarc's jacket again because she still had it on. That reminded her and provided a quick subject change, "Oh! You probably want this back, don't you?" She asked, motioning towards the jacket.

The wing flutter earnt an instant starry smile from the galaxy girl once again, but she tried to focus on the taste of the pizza pie, it really was incredible! No wonder it got finished so quickly by the two.
When Zarc chirped, River blushed and glanced aside a little shyly at first, before looking back with, quite a different look, when he held onto her hand and smirked like that- along with his comment, River couldn't hold back a certain feeling, if but for a few seconds that is.
In those few seconds, her eyelids drooped down about halfway as she looked at the other monster, her white eyes glowed brighter, and in them, little galaxy-like pupils appeared, but only in those few seconds before River blinked and shook her head lightly, raising her free hand to her forehead, "Ohoho- Hoo- Is it hot in here or is that just you~?" She laughed, a bit nervously at that, but she regained her posture pretty quickly, or at least seemed to. "Heeheehee~ You got me" She raised her hands like he had earlier in response to the dessert comment, "You're not complaining though now aren't you, bad boy~?" That grin was back, and she'd walk two of her fingers along his chest in a similar fashion to what she was doing with his jawline before "Guess you could say you like your dessert first, hmm?" Her grin then turned a little wonky and she retracted her hand, looking aside again, her cheeks going back to being a burning glow. "I-I mean uh, we where talking about having Nice Creams for breakfast earlier so!" Nice recovery there boat lady.
River would run a hand through her hair, closing her eyes and taking a breath for a moment, "Hmm hm hm" She'd hum smoothly, in the same tune as her typical, 'Tra laa laa'. Probably to calm herself?
After about a moment or two of this, she'd open her eyes back up and look up at Zarc, smiling, "Your turn to hold the slice~"

River raised an eyebrow slightly, "I suppose that is true~" She would put a finger on her lips, and when Zarc glanced to the side, she would look at him and smile, getting a little lost in her thoughts, she would have to of course cut off those thoughts soon though, as the drink sharing started.
River had to hold back a giggle as she looked at Zarc, the heart shapes in his eyes and how he looked at her, she found it adorable. Her cheeks flared back up again and she took a glance to the side, before then fluttering her eyes up at him.

She sure appreciated his help in getting the jacket off, she would give a light grin when changing, she seemed to look aside the minute she had taken the cloak off though, then again, she seemed to almost always be wearing one, so taking it off was something out of the usual, but with Zarc? She felt comfortable enough to do so.
Now she had Zarc's jacket, the band shirt, and just her shorts on. At first she seemed to duck her head down and hide her face a bit behind the collar of his jacket, her cheeks glowing again as she fumbled with her hands. Zarc helped her courage back in what he said after though, she smiled, bringing her face back out "Heeheehee~ You really think so?" She put a hand to one of her cheeks, a mischievous grin coming to her face as an idea seemed to hit her. Swiftly, but gently, she would pull the hood over Zarc's head and would then kiss where his lips would be, but on the hood, before then pulling the hood back off him again and winking. "You look quite handsome yourself- Oh who am I kidding, you always look handsome" For a moment, she kept a hand around the badge that Zarc now had on him to keep the hood up. If there was anyone she trusted to hold it, it would be the monster who gave it to her in the first place. She smiled as she let it go, it was so nice being able to trust someone this much.

River didn't seem to mind that not all of the song played, she seemed amused and curious at that Zarc even got the food to play it, she nodded at his questions though, "You bet I do" She paused at the second question though, she'd never really done much dancing or anything like that. "Uhhh" She would glance aside for a moment, before smiling back at him, couldn't hurt to try it, right? "Yeah that sounds great!".
She then watched his magic set up the plates for the food, curiously, she would reach out to try and touch some of his magic with one of her hands, almost as if to stroke it. Her other hand went for a bit of the pizza pie that wasn't already sorted, which she would bring up to Zarc, before opening her mouth, mimicking what she was aiming for him to do "Say 'Aaaah'~".

River was glad that Haldor even heard her, and was more glad when he put her order in, she did it! She ordered food! She gave it a couple of minutes before then heading to the counter and paying before claiming her order, she smiled back at Haldor. "Thank you, it's a lovely place you have here! And that wouldn't be any trouble at all! I'll be sure to let him know" She would give a nod, which would move her large fluffed hood also in a nodding motion. "Oh, Absolutely, I'll make sure he receives your welcome!" She would reassure him, taking hold of her order, she put the wrapped up cinnamon roll with them, giving Haldor a polite nod with a bit of an added curtsy, "Thank you so much for the food, I really enjoyed coming in, I'll be sure to visit again!
