Red gasped, her eyes squinting as she blinked a bit before looking from the fire in her home, back to the blade, and then to the door. As she set down the blade, the young swordsman rubbed her eyes, wiping away the focus she had built as she made her way to the door. Her red hoodie bob gently near her neck as her fluffy blonde hair bounced with each step. Her baggy, comfy jeans dragged a bit a her feet as she walked forward towards the wooden door. She opened the door carefully, letting the light creep into her home before she saw who was waiting for her.

Red stared upward to her master, her mouth gently agape as her paw rested on the handle. The sound of the crackling fire could be heard from inside the home as Red stared with a calm silence.

It had been so long.

Mind you, they had always been near each other, and they had both been working, but any time they had seen each other lately it had always been nothing but a passing glance or a quick wave. There was always so much to do. She didn't even have time to ask her how she was doing. Yet, here she was. In fact, the most recent memory Red had of them actually spending time together... was when she had been rescued from the Koray.

Red felt her nose crinkle... tears beginning to well in her eyes as she stared to her master, not even trying to hold anything back. It felt so forlorn, being so close yet never being able to actually spend any time together. Red felt her voice choke a bit, her paws shaking as she tried to smile.

"..I...I missed you so much." She hiccuped, shoulders trembling as her curls began to hide her face.

Red’s blade sparked as she carefully, yet confidently dragged a grind stone against the edge. She sat upon a stump and focused sharply on her blade. However, despite this refined focus, her mind wandered.  Was it fate that made the people you love most scarce so you could truly appreciate their presence? Did fate distance you from those loved ones so much because you’d otherwise take them for granted? It seemed to Red that as much as she wanted to see Undyne, both of their lives seemed to push each other in the opposite direction. She wanted to be with her, she wanted to go on missions and train with her master.

...And yet.

Could that have suppressed her individuality, her growth? Could she not have learned what she had on her own if she were always at Undyne’s side? Was it actually what she needed? There was no way to know for sure, yet Red was no philosopher, and she knew that. Her growth and experiences had allowed the young apprentice to shine in ways that she didn’t give herself enough credit for. She had earned courage on her own, she had faced the odds and her fears with conviction. She had fought tooth and nail to win. She had earned that.

She was proud.

A smile formed on Red's face as she studied the familiar blade, taking the time to also smile at herself as she fully reflected on everything that had happened. She had done a good job. It wasn’t perfect, but she never gave up, and never held back. She always had done her best, and Undyne had been proud. The love she had felt from her master after all of the hardships she endured, it had helped Red grow into something great. She finally felt like a hero, and it allowed to her to truly accept herself and come into her own as a swordsman, a guard, and most importantly, her own person.

However, her story had only just begun. There was still much to do, and whether or not she knew what was coming, she made sure she wouldn't slack off. Not that Undyne would let her of course. She wanted to be the best. She would do whatever it took to be strong. Her smile faded as she stared determinedly forward, clutching the hilt of her blade tightly. With a swift and refined motion, she sheathed her weapon into it's scabbard, taking a breath as she processed everything that she had just thought about. It was time to move forward.

Red grunted in pain as her arms began to shake, watching the blades tremble in the clash. Many warriors know the terrifying feelings that clashes would generate, and deep down Red felt herself shudder at the possibility. Her mouth opened as she began to pant, lacking any real sweat glands like others. The pain and soreness screamed down her arms as she closed her eyes, her panting growing fiercer as her hands shook violently, a whining sound no fainter than a whisper escaped her throat as she held on.

Pain, frustration, sadness, doubt... everything that had culminated inside that prison manifested itself strongly into her soul as she let those memories and thoughts stew.  As Red struggled, she felt herself frown, her closed eyes tensing as her knuckles screamed in protest to the clash. She had let them down.... she couldn't save them... they had to be saved....

Quote
"Be brave, assert yourself. You're calling the shots. Make them bend to you!"

The young woman's eyes shot open, her teeth grit as she pressed onward. She couldn't give up, Undyne wouldn't let her!

....too late.

The tension loosened in Red's hands almost instantly. An emotion that couldn't be described any less than horror exploded on Red's face as she watched her blade burst from her grip, twisting into the air helplessly. Everything against her training told her to not even think about what had just happened, yet her eyes just continued to stare at the sword hurling aimlessly in the air. She felt herself frown, her eyes growing heavy. She didn't want to look down, maybe if she didn't then everything would be okay... yet her reflexes objected, and her gaze finally looked back to the conflict.

Indescribable pain drilled into her gut as her back arched, eyes now wide as painful tears burst through her sockets. Panic shook her breathing, yet everything she took a breath, there was something in the way, something blocking the natural air flow. After each breath, pain would circulate through her body like a swarm of ants. Her eyes slowly looked to the sword resting firmly in her abdomen. The mere thought of such a reality actually existing was indescribable. She looked to the familiar hilt, and a wave of nostalgic dread consumed her as she closed her eyes, trying to stop the tears from falling. The Huntress didn't deserve the satisfaction... why was she getting it? Why did she win?

Red felt her voice shudder, her will doing it's best to escape from such a fate. And... everything felt lighter. Red's gaze finally shifted back to reality as she looked to her hands. Ice ripped into her soul as she watched her hands....evaporate. Little by little, they began to waft away into dust as she began to scream, her head shaking back and forth as she did her best to deny everything that was happening. She reached for the sword, trying to wrap her fingers around the blade and force it out....yet she touched nothing. She reached again and tried to grab it once more... but she couldn't. Why couldn't she touch it?

They were already gone.

Red stopped her struggle, watching silently as her arms began to chip away, until they two dissolved into nothingness. Sound... began to dampen. Pain began to wash away.... and suddenly everything in her sight wasn't so clear. The only thing she could properly process was her shallow and weakening breaths, and a faint beeping sound. They echoed faintly as she looked to her opponent, the image of the Huntress distorting violently until everything was white.

Quote
"Hello little ****. Gonna do a few more flips and beg for mercy like last time? I so look forward to putting you back in you kennel where you belong."

Vision snapped back to Red as her breath returned, her eyes wide as she looked to the blade in her hand once more. Had she not just been impaled, hadn't she seen the dust?

"What...?"

Her reflexes snapped to her killer as she watched the attack commence, the motion and arc of her swing... it was exactly the same as before. Despite being completely confused, Red's body pivoted away, the blade slashing harmlessly away from her. Red tucked in to the Korary's open spot, inbetween her chest and her arms which had already committed to the attack.

Red looked to Huntresses' eyes for a moment, an aimless expression on her face as she contemplated the reality she was in. The evident confusion of the situation only a few moments before still vividly shook in her memory as she stared to her.

.......

And then... she snapped.

The gaze in Red's eyes darkened, sharpening to a murderous leer as the pain and fear she had felt augmented her emotional psyche. Everything she had endured, the children whom were killed... the pain caused to Stanley and the sheer disregard for everyone that she had hurt... Red unleashed a loud, violent roar as she wedged her sword deep into her throat, a furious bellow accompanying her thrust as she jumped into her thrust,  tackling the blade even further into the soft tissue.

It's kill or be killed, after all.

The force of her attack allowed Red to manhandle the Huntress to her back as she jumped into her stab, slamming her into the ground. Red's legs wrapped tightly across her chest to secure herself, and she continued to scream as she twisted the blade in the wound. Shortly after, her muscles glowed as a magic surged from her body into her blade. The metal hissed as it glowed from the heat, the red hot sword kissing the wound as Red continued to twsit her sword with no remorse.

She continued to scream.

The sight of freedom, it caught the young pup off guard. There it was, salvation. She watched as Cobalt, Gust, Sakura, and Undyne stood on the other end of the prison, the fresh air of the cavern filling her nostrils as she weakly rose from her spot, watching as her friends scrambled through the debris and made their way out. The children followed suit as Red watched them pile out, her tired eyes following the children leave the dusty ruins that had been forced upon them. With Stanley clinging to her side, Red carefully walked outside, looking to the new and old faces with an almost blank expression. Everything felt so slow, as if the realization of freedom simply was too much for her brain to process properly.

She gasped blankly as Undyne crashed into her with her embrace, Red's mouth hang barely agape as she felt her friend hold her. She was here... Undyne was really here... as she was put into the headlock, Red felt her lips quiver, the entire situation making her head feel heavy.... the rain poured gently onto her head....

She grasped Undynes arm tightly. The apprentice would bury her face, her shoulders trembled as her breathing became more erratic. Red wept, but seeing Undyne in a time like this filled her with an unprecedented joy that she could do nothing but cry. She felt ashamed of crying, especially since she had been doing so much of it as of late, but when everything you stood for was tested.... and you failed to uphold it.... it was a lot to handle. She knew she had much to learn, and that she would fail... but that didn't lessen the pain of her failures and the people that died because of it.

Red carefully pulled away from Undyne, sniffling a bit with teary eyes. She took the gem with a shaky hand and tied it to her head, but you could barely see it due to the volume of her hair. "...Okay." She whispered, tapping the accessory with her fingers. "I....it's so good to see you I.....right... we'll talk later... now's not the time..."

Her eyes widened as Cobalt offered something to Red... something that the young lionheart had been missing for what felt like a lifetime. She stared to the blade for a moment, before reaching out to it gingerly. Her fingers wrapped around the cool metal, and something inside Red... clicked.

Red's shoulders rose strongly, her posture tightening as she tilted the blade towards her face, starting to herself in it's reflection. She watched as her eyes wen't from wide and sad.... to sharp and determined. Oh... how she missed this feeling. Such focus, such power. It wasn't her blade, but it was made by Cobalt, and it was the closest thing she had. It was more than serviceable, A fine blade indeed. Her body felt powerful... it was whole again. Red stepped away, lowering the blade before unleashing a swipe. The metal whistled through the air, the sheer speed and precision behind it was textbook Red, a form that Undyne could recognize in her sleep. Her hands blurred as the sword sliced the air in front of her, a twinkle forming in her eye as she retracted the blade.

"...Thank you...Cobalt." she smiled.

However, there was no time to relish in the happiness. As if on que, the Koray advanced, and a boy dressed in blue began to scream irrationally. She had never seen him before, but the Koray seemed to be listening to him. And then, she appeared. The fur rose on the back of Red's neck as she watched the transformation take place. The Huntress.... had returned.

Red's eyes darkened as he pursed her lips, her pupils constricting with utter rage as she gripped her blade, staring to the sword that was in her filthy paws.

".....You'll regret touching putting your foul hands on my sword."

Red's arm shot forward, the sound of metal on metal clanked throughout the cavern, sparks igniting in between the sharp metals as she inched her face close to the Huntresses. She made no visible reaction to Cherry's attack, but the soda shark's intervention was noted. However, the ground would explode as a wall of ice would erupt from out of nowhere, with Cherry falling off the Huntress and being trapped in the ice along with Grillby and Gust.

"What... what was that?!" Red screamed, but instantly brought her attention back to her opponent. "Undyne, Coblat, what just happened?" She grit her teeth as she held her guard, staring to the Huntress, but her concern for the others was clearly on her mind. She continued to hold her guard, looking to her own sword as it tried to slice her in half.

The warrior sat in a crumpled heap, the most recent slamming sensation of the cube not even surprising her at this point. Her body was overcome with pain once again. With each step that she took, it reminded her of the crippling pain that was garroting it's way through her body. It was poetic really, with each movement would be a reminder of her imperfections and failures. The scent of fresh dust was in the air as her eyes glazed over towards the child who had just given in to mortality. As Marver pleaded in disbelief, Red would bury her face in her palms as the fresh tears practically oozed through her paws. Her short perky ears drooped against her hair. She had broken her promise. They lost one. Her sobs were quiet as she didn't even have the courage to look to any of the other children. She heard Cherry whimpering in pain, and she pressed her face even tighter against her palms.

Please....please not her too....

They say to not make promises you aren't sure you can keep, but Red had never believed in that. She had believed that as long as you tried your hardest and had faith, she could motivate herself to achieve the impossible. When she had said nobody else would die... she had believed it.

"....Why...why did I think I could do it...?"

As if her master herself were there the entire time, the apprentice gasped, staring to the floating helmet. Red watched with wide, impressionable eyes as she gazed into the empty yet stern eye sockets Red had seen so many times in her life. She felt herself shudder, ashamed to even look at it. She wanted to be just like her, she wanted to be a hero so badly... she had worked her entire life to do it...

"....I'm sorry." She whispered meekly. "...I just... I just can't never be as great as you... I'm sorry... I thought I could do it... but I've let them all down...." She hiccuped as she shoulders shook, burying her face into her knees as she continued to weep.

And then she heard it,,, her voice.

Red's ears perked, staring towards the helmet in disbelief, eyes stinging from the crying she had endured this entire time. Come to think of it, she did remember hearing something trying to rip it's way into their cell. The groaning of metal was fresh in her mind. Hastilly, she made her way over to Marver and Cherry, hugging them both as she prayed for their safety.

She thought she heard it a voice calling to them, though it was a man's, Regardless, Undyne or not, anything was a miracle now.

"YES! We are here... please... we've lost so many, let us out... please let us out... please!!" She called, holding her friends tightly, and any children that had come over.

....The wind was howling.

....It sang a song of hope.

Instinctively, Red's body jumped as Cherry placed the helmet onto her head, her eyes glowing in it's visor as she stared directly to Cherry, her body poised to strike. Her gaze was menacing, sharp, battle hardened.....

....thump.

The unfitted helmet would slump down her head, blinding her as she stood silently for just a few moments. Slowly, her shoulders drooped and arms slumped at her sides. A vibration shook the helmet, her body tensing a bit in response, but just like that... it was gone.

"..........ehehehe~"

Quietly, Red giggled, her voice echoing a bit beneath the helmet. It wasn't bold, heroic, or even angry.....it was sweet. Her voice sounded so...natural. Years of refinement and strength bolstered one's personality to the point of no return.... but here it was... and she continued to giggle ever so sweetly as she pulled the helmet slightly off her head, the rest hanging behind her as she peeked to them. There was a faint flush to her cheeks, and a cheery brightness to her eyes as she looked to her friends, a warm smile on her face. Everything they had said... it was true. They were right.... and it showed in Red's eyes. She appreciated them both so much....

"....I...I look like a dork don't I?"

Motion.

Red felt her body suspend in midair, her eyes wide as she seemed float for a few moments, Undyne's helmet spiraling off her head as she reached out, gasping in a mixture of fear and shock. She felt herself audibly screech from pain as he body collided with the walls, an unfathomable sense of vertigo consuming her senses as she reached for something, hoping to cling to something for dear life. They were falling. Her eyes scoured for Cherry and Marver, hoping that nothing would take them away from her. She was scared.

She coughed as everything stopped, her battle tuned mind racing, desperately attempting to solidify an explanation for what had just transpired. She lay on her back, watching the writhing and noticeably upset Marver struggling to understand what had just happened. Despite the tension and heat of the moment... things felt... cold. Though just as she would rise to her feet, she would yelp as a massive dent would form in the metal right next to her head. The screech of dented metal rang in her ears before she felt herself fly in another direction, slamming into a chair, only a few feet away from Marver. The screams of the children echoed in her mind as she desperately looked to see if they were okay, pain surging through her body as she arched her back away from the broken furniture, barely regaining her composure. Her eyes looked the damages in the chair she had crashed into, most noticeably a broken leg that was barely hanging on to the base of the chair. It looked rather nice, despite being partially pulverized. Wasting no time, the sound of splintering wood could be heard as Red ripped the leg free from the damaged piece.

This whole situation.... it wasn't fair. Why did they have to take everything....why did they take her happiness away?

Wading through a sea of terrified Children, the swordsman stopped as she stared to the damaged metal that Link had so forcibly stolen from Gust. with the chair leg firmly in her grasp. She stared to the blemish, clutching the blunt makeshift weapon firmly in her paws, entering a familiar stance. She felt her muscles tighten as her claws dug into the wood. She felt her calm, focused, and stoic expression began to crack, rage and indignation chiseling it's way through her psyche... until her mouth became a savage maw, a voracious snarl exploding through her throat as she began to mercilessly slam the instrument against the metal. Her pupils constricted as she pressed hard, her breath hot and dry as she hammered away, splinters showering the ground beneath her. The ringing of her strikes echoed throughout the cube, her knuckles screaming in protest to her onslaught.

She felt her vision blur, her head swimming in fatigue and frustration. A bubble began to form in her chest. She couldn't take this, and she knew that they couldn't escape on their own, or at least thats what she thought. The pressure in the bubble intensified, it's presence shuddering as it struggled to contain the emotion that Red was forcing into it's permeable barrier until it's could no longer take the strain. As Red drew a long, yet hasty breath, the bubble popped.

Wishing for a miracle, a shrill and blood curdling scream burst from the warrior. Burning tears stung her eyes and cheeks as she pressed her mouth against the damages, hoping that someone was out there, that even the tiniest of seams would have given way so that someone could hear them, and save them.

"HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"....."

Deception,  it's power is so vile that it truly is difficult to comprehend. That fleeting feeling of hope, believing that everything you had tirelessly given was going to pay off, suddenly becomes meaningless. The very moment that Red had watched the doors seal, she was silent. The screams of fear and anguish that had clawed through her eardrums were nothing but a dull hum as she would fall to her knees, contemplating the futility of the situation. The proud and determined hero that hand been standing just a few minutes prior would stare hopelessly towards the ceiling. They had taken it all away.... and she was too stupid to have seen such a tactic coming. The worst trait of hope is it's blinding influence to cloud the reality that you are so desperately trying to combat.

She really was just an ignorant kid.

Quote
"It's time to move 'em out!"

An inferno would brew inside Red as she heard that voice, her pupils constricting as the unadulterated rage would swell in her soul. Malice and hatred, two of the most vile emotions, began stirring deep within her. A small amount of dust would spill from her palms as her claws began puncturing her skin, her teeth practically cracking as she scowled ferociously. It was her, she had done this. The White Huntress. Red rose to her feet, staggering as her skin crawled, stumbling past Marver and Cherry as she leaned against the wall, shuddering. The raw emotion felt toxic. The better part of Red knew that it was sickening, but the rest finally admitted that she didn't care.

There was nothing she wanted more in this world than to eviscerate that woman.

"You won't get the satisfaction.....you're mine." Red moaned, staring to the metal wall as she did her best to listen.

The young stag beetle, Stanley,  could watch in horror at her reaction, the sheer emotional state of the hero causing him to feel uneasy. With tears in his eyes, he crawled over to Marver and Cherry, tugging desperately at the dragonness's paw. "I...I don't know what to do, Miss Red, she needs help... I... I'm scared. M-Marver, C-Cherry, I...."

The sound of crackling rock was loud enough for the entire cube to hear, even causing Red to break from her seething. Something big had just happened.

"....We've always had a plan... right? We shouldn't stop now...right? There's got to be something we can do... right?"

"Well, they made their choice." Her voice darkened. "It doesn't matter who they used to be, their choices have killed and harmed others. They may think there's no other way, but there always is. It's easy to give up and to surrender your values, and they're weak for doing so. You might think what I'm saying is cold, but everyone here knows what they've done. I'd rather die than be forced to commit to a duty such as this. It's evil, and I won't hold anything back, because neither will they. They've committed, and so have I. I will not waste my time trying to sympathize with them." Her knuckles popped.

When Cherry ushered to get the children home, Red nodded. "No arguments there." Red chimed as the lock clicked, her body surging with a familiar warmth as she ripped the collar from her throat, tossing it into a corner. "My sword can wait, we can't spend any time here anymore." Red quickly made her way to the door, her eyes darting back and forth before she made her way towards the lab, her memory still fresh from the glimpse she had gotten before.

What did this "Trinity" need with them to summon a genie? Did it need sacrifices? Is that why they were gathering all that dust? Red felt herself scowl as she approached the lab. She peeked in quietly, checking once more before she ran in and hastily grabbed as many potions as she could, not bothering to look to the labels as she ran back to the cell, placing them in Cherry's helmet. "You're right we might need these." When Red had been sure that all the collars had been removed from each person, she cleared her throat. "Everyone, we're leaving. Stick together and look out for each other. Cherry found an exit, so we're taking it. Don't be afraid, and never give up. We've gotten this far on our own, and we'll get ourselves out....and stay determined." With that, she would begin to lead them towards the room Cherry had spoke of, approaching the exit swiftly, keeping an eye out for any remaining Koray.

Stanley, the little blue stag beetle child whom had been locked in with Red, made his way through the children, doing his best not to cheer to loudly, but he tried to inspire the others. "Y-yeah! They can't scare us... we can all still fly!"He would look to Kapral and Temmie, smiling brightly at them as he began to march forward behind Red.

She felt the pressure release from her back as the fearful cries from the Koray scrambled off, the sound of the doors tearing open drilling into her ears as she slowly got to her knees and stared to the remaining Koray, silently waiting for his response to the situation. She felt her knuckles go white as she clenched her fists. Any sudden movements to harm the child, and Red would be ready to burst into action, her soul blazing with the fiery passion she exhibited throughout the entire dilemma.

"...."

Her eyes widened in response to the pelting of the child, jumping to her feet to catch them and looking them over. She felt the child shuddering, their breathing escalated and erratic. When the Koray had finally escaped with the rest, Red calmly consoled the child before setting them down.

She stood quietly, looking to everyone, the plumes of dust freshly smeared over the walls and her face, her scratched and battered hands....

She didn't even feel herself fall back to her knees.

"..........!"

Tears of anguish, pain, frustration, and most of all weariness slowly welled from her eyes as she sat motionless.

"....I'm sorry....I'm so sorry you had to see all of that...I'm sorry..." She wept quietly. She held true to her word... nobody else was hurt... but still...

Nobody said being a hero was easy.

She wept silently for a few more moments, until she heard the familiar footsteps, and voice of the young Cherry. Waves of relief consumed Red, a bright smile forming on her face to see the soda shark. On reaction, she quickly wiped away her tears, doing her best to hide them as she stood tall. "C-Cherry! I... you did it!" She practically yelped. It was so worrying that she had went out there by herself, but she had done it. She had accomplished her task. Mission complete. Looking to the potion, Red's eyes darted to the other potions in the helmet, then to the others in the cell, making sure that there were enough for the rest. Cherry had been generous with the potions, and the young lion heart deemed it acceptable that she take one. "....Thank you."

As she uncapped the glass bottle, she found herself taking a small sip at first. The moment the fluid hit her lips however, she ended up chugging it down hastily, the potency of the brew filling her weary body with respite and life. The wounds in her arm felt a bit lighter, but the sting was still quite strong. Through a small gasp, Red breathed, After a few deep breaths, she would look back to Cherry,. "...The keys that you collected, do any of them unlock the collars? And did you happen to see my sword anywhere? And make sure you give a potion to Marver too... she's been wounded as well-"

Marver.

Red made her way over to her friend in a rush, carefully examining her. "I... I didn't even check if you were okay, I was dealing with the Koray..... thank you. You risked everything for me, if it weren't for you....I don't know. I was stupid, I reacted emotionally, I'm sorry you got involved that way... I was rash and angry, I just couldn't take it...I'm so sorry..." She hugged her tightly, closing her eyes.

Red felt her body instinctively twist, the Koray whom had attempted to strike her with the last ditch kick would soar harmlessly past her. She felt her eyes close in relief... before her eyes were forced open in response to sharp puncturing sensation on her arm, her teeth gnashing in a combination of pain and surprise. It took every once of will power for her to not scream out in response. She felt herself snarl as a Koray would force herself to the ground, looking up to her assailant, a menacing scowl erupting from her face as she struggled, her shoulders shaking violently in response to the assault.

As much pain, sorrow, and fury that was brewing through the young woman at the moment, Red still found the strength to speak.

"I shouldn't even be surprised...." She practically hummed, now looking towards the Koray holding the child. "You think I don't see what that tells me... weakling?" She spat, her eyes darting between the three Koray and their hostage.

"I've eviscerated two of your kind just now, one of them with just my teeth, and you're making the choice to involve someone else to have me at your mercy...."

"...I must really be good at my job, I see that fear.... I love it."

"That doubt that is growing in you...right now... that thought in your mind that I might just snap... and kill you all. Your eyes are telling me that you're worried... and scared. You think you can control me through a child, you think you can use someone else's life to protect your own....

"It doesn't work that way."

"...I hate you."

"...I'm going to enjoy killing you all, and I won't hesitate like you, I won't have that same doubt I see brewing in your eyes. People like you give me purpose, I won't stop until I see everything taken away from you.... your arrogance, the audacity..."

She secretly dug her hands firmly into the ground, scooping up as much dust as she could in her palm.

"...You wont hurt anyone else."

Red's eyes were practically white with rage as she had finally dug into the vein and savagely tore into it with her fangs, the overwhelming taste of fresh dust exploding onto her tongue as she was released. The young apprentice landed to her knees, her mouth and face practically dripping with the magical substances. She didn't even notice Marver's pain, her whimper...

Stanley and the children could only watch in a mixture of fear in awe at what they had seen. The stag beetle wished to see if she was okay, but a primal fear froze him to the spot. Being a hero wasn't always a glorious, clean cut job.

Occasionally, you had to get dirty.

"The h'ell is going on here?!"

Plumes of dust had consumed the area where Red had attacked both Koray, one dead and the other with a wound that was sure to be fatal in only just a few more moments. There was a chilling silence as a silouhete could be seen rising inside the cloud of magic, its stance almost lazy as barely rose to its feet. Nothing else was clear, but there was a distinct glint of an eye peeking through the foggy dust. Calmly, and with a sluggish swagger to her steps, they Koray would be able to see the monster known as Red clear from the dust.

Her eyes screamed of death.

The room felt heavier, as her barefoot footsteps echoed across the cell. Pain, Rage, Judgment, and Determination were bursting from her like a maelstrom, her heavy aura complimenting her subtle and quiet approach. She felt her fingers twitch as she stared to them.

"..."

And then... as if on que, the doors had locked.

CLICK.

"......"

"......"

Her head jolted, staring directly into the eyes of a Koray, a dead gaze to her stare as she dug deep into it's soul. This one... was familiar.

That cold night....

The chase....

The fear....

This Koray was present the night she had been captured. HE WAS THERE.

"....I told you...didn't I?"

"....this is my nightmare.

It filled Red with more satisfaction than she would care to admit that she had brought swift justice to the Koray. One less to deal with in the future. The eyes of a consumed and determined warrior were visible to those who looked to her, a level of ferocity that was present the day they had captured her.

Yet, almost instantaneously after her kill, the hero let out a suppressed gasp as she had been ferociously hoisted by her neck and slammed into the active walls behind her.

Pain, indescribable amounts of pain suddenly infused itself into every nerve in Red's body, impaling it's way through each cell in her body like thousands of hot needles.

Red felt herself gasp, her lungs unable to catch up to the sensation before she unleashed a blood curdling scream, her screams echoing across the entire complex as tears began to erupt from her eyes. Her eyes frantically searched for an escape, her back arching legs wincing, she was doing her best to lessen her exposure to the wall. Red struggled. So much pain, she just wanted it to end. She squinted to see the Koray observing the scene with primal satisfaction, her fingers desperately trying to claw their way from his grasp, but to no avail.

And then, Marver.

Seeing her friend risk it all just then to save her, filled Red with Determination.

Red felt the Koray's grasp weaken, if not just for a moment. This was all she needed.  Marver had just put herself on the chopping block because of her intervention. After Red, she was next. And more were coming. Red screamed once more, but it was a combination of pain and rage as she barely wrestled her neck free due to Marver's distraction.

Red reacted with the first option that exploded into her mind.

Red's teeth crunched into the Koray's neck, screaming into the bite as she began to wring the delicate neck flesh as hard as she could. She yanked and tore the meat, biting down over and over to crush and tenderize it so it would gave way.

"When you're in a bind you Red, use whatever you can to win! Everything is a weapon. Don't ever give up!"

Undyne's voice echoed fiercely in her soul.  She would not give up. She was ready to taste dust.

The young apprentice found herself swept by her feet from Marver's tail strike, her eyes widening as she would fall to her back, wincing in pain as she hit her head on the solid floor. She felt pain shoot through her head as she held her skull, her bright and fluffy curls now in a slightly marred mess from everything she had been through.

"30G on Red and the goat kid."

As Red processed this, she felt her eyes widen, her mouth agape as she looked towards the source of the sound, only to look to the Koray who were greedily taking enjoyment from their illegitimate squabble.
After everything they've gone through so far, after watching children die, watching children cower in free for their lives, forcing to fight a friend to gather the attention of the guards, Red could hardly stand their faces.

She felt her teeth clench as she would slowly rise to her feet, her matted curly hair now covering her eyes, casting a shadow. With her back to the guards, her shoulders hunched a bit as her fists tightened. If Marver, Kapral and Temmie would look closely, they would see the sanity and patience of the young hero boiling over, her eyes murderously sharp as she felt her breathing escalate. She felt a burning in her eyes, her fists now vibrating uncontrollably.

She'd had enough.

Red's eyes practically shimmered as her body burst towards the closest guard behind her, thrusting her abdomen towards the Koray's throat. In that instant, Red's thighs would wrap tightly around its throat, constricting the wind pipe before she let out a bestial roar.

With a twisting motion, Red pivoted her hips with as much force as she could possibly muster, ready and aiming to snap the Koray's neck.

They would all pay for their transgressions.

Red had been paying attention to the guards entering the room before pain had exploded in her forehead. The force of Marver's skull bashing into her caused Red to flinch backward a few feet, a loud cry of pain escaping from her as she held her face, feeling a welt already beginning to form. Instinctively, her face hardened with rage as she stared daggers towards the dragoness. Marver would be able to notice the subtle changes in her eyes, the realization of the situation dawning on Red as she rubbed her forehead.

The guards didn't have to know that though. "You....witch!" Red would snarl, sending a sharp knee directly into Marver's chin as she jumped towards her, eyes beaming with what looked to be fury. As she would land to the ground, Red's hand sliced towards Marver once more to deliver a solid smack to her face.

It had to look real didn't it?

"Don't you dare touch me again!"

Red would pretend Cherry didn't exist for this moment. She did not want to give up the shark's position. The young lionheart could only pray for Cherry to be successful in her endeavor. She had to have faith, there was nothing else they could do besides believe in the young volunteer.

'Good luck.' She prayed to herself, for Cherry.

Red blinked, turning towards Cherry, genuinely surprised to hear the young soda shark volunteer. She honestly did not expect it, thinking that she would have to go out herself, or kill a guard to do it. While she was confident, deep down she knew it was risky. However, she had stepped up. Red couldn't help but generate a wide grin as she looked to Cherry. Such courage.

Seeing Cherry take charge and offer her skills to save them all, filled Red with Inspiration.

"Wow...I'm humbly surprised, Miss Cherry." She smiled warmly, before walking over to her and taking a knee. Red's eyes were bright, as if they were sparkling. "You would risk your life to save others? You would offer your skills in spite the odds, to accomplish the mission? If so... regardless of the outcome, success or failure... if we make it out of this...I will be sure to let Undyne know."

She held out her hand, looking deeply towards the soda shark, he cheeks practically puffing with pride. "If you think you can do it, we can make a plan. I know what we can do, but I have to know if you're ready to follow through on your word. Make your choice 100% certain, Cherry."

"...Will you help us?"
