Luka snapped to attention, his thoughts of home fading as if he were roused from a nightmare. He looked around for a moment trying to get his bearings before he looked down to his glass. With a desperate  thirst he'd take the cup of slightly warmed orange juice in hand and pull it back, downing gulp after gulp of the citrus juice before  he set the cup down with an audible 'clink.' The young man panted, beads of sweat forming on his brow as he let the taste of the fruit settle on his lips.

It was almost as if, the reality of his situation had dawned on him as he dwelled on his origins. Although, glancing aside, he found comfort in the many friendly faces that surrounded him.

"...How is that food? Sakura?" He asked, trying to engage with the fiery kitsune once more. He forced a smile as he leaned back to look at her. "I might not be as much of a morning person as I thought... I totally spaced out there."  He chuckled, scratching the back of his neck as he glanced aside at all the newcomers to the bar. He kept up his happy face for her as he took in the sight.

But...

He didn't realize she had looked to the window in such horror.

"...What's wrong?"

Luka turned a few shades of red as he sat up and pulled the whoopee cushion out from under him. He shot the skeleton a glare, feeling like Sylph and him might have gotten along with his childish antics. His frown softened, however, as the flame golem brought him his order with a cheery attitude. He sighed, taking a sip from his orange juice as he pulled back and tried to relax.

"Thank you sir." He bowed his head to the fire golem before he turned his attention back to the Kitsune. "If there is anything I've learned in my travels and tribulations it's that things are never easy first off. Secondly, well..." He looked up, imagining some of his earlier adventures and all the insanity he went through and how often he scraped by the skin of his teeth,

"...Even when things look the bleakest, anything is possible with hard work and good friends." He smiled, looking back down to her. "So even now, I'm sure things will be alright."

Luka, being as dense as he was, hadn't exactly noticed the dangerous shift in the air. Especially considering Sakura seemed happy to dine with him. He was so excited that he might make a new friend in a somewhat hostile place that he didn't even bother to look the way of the Skeleton, at least, not until he addressed him specifically. The young man eyed the skeleton as he toyed with his question.

"...To be honest, up until recently. I would have been able to answer that confidently." Luka frowned a bit, his head lowering as he thought of the truth of his family. On his journey, his entire view on his life seemed to be turned on it's head. He was left in a state of chaos and right before it could be resolved...

He was sent underground.

"If...I'm being honest with myself...I don't truly know what I am. Human...Monster...Something in between...I never really got the chance to find out for certain."

He explained before taking his seat beside the kitsune he had sort of befriended. "I'm just 'me' at the end of the day. A hero who dreams of a world where man and monster can coexist peacefully. You can just call me Luka though." He grinned, giving a nod to the mysterious skeleton before turning his attention to the tender.

"Sir, I'll take an orange juice if you've got it. Also I'll pay for whatever she wants." He spoke nodding to the kitsune beside him.

He didn't seem to notice the smile from the young girl across the bar. Though given the circumstance it probably would have only made him a bit more flustered.

Luka stopped, seeing the conflict in the girls eyes as she looked upon him. It was enough to give him pause. The young man looked to the girl and returned the bow, giving her the respect he felt a nine tailed kitsune deserved. "It's alright... I was a little excited at the thought of seeing a friendly face that I acted brashly."  He spoke, his tone softening as he met his gaze with hers so he could give her a genuinely sweet smile.

"Though given your snarl I kind of wonder if you are on the best terms with her. Even if not, I hope we can be friends at least!" He chuckled before taking her hand into his and giving it a shake. "My dream of coexistence would be pretty silly if I didn't find a way to get along with everyone." He forced another chuckle as he scratched the back of his neck.

"I'm sorry for intruding though. Can I make it up by buying you a drink?"

Luka blushed a bit as the girl brushed him with her tails causing him to back up. He held up his hands and waved them in a defensive manner as she came at him with all the snarling ire of someone who refused to be a morning person. It reminded him of Alice in a way. She was often cranky early on in the day too. The sheepish hero sweat a bit, his blush fading as he tried to babble incoherently in response to her sharp tone.

"I-I'm sorry m'aam!" His voice shook. "Sakura m'aam." He cleared his throat as he corrected himself, finding himself flushing even harder as he fumbled with his words.

EVENTUALLY the young man would outstretch his arm in an almost robotic fashion. He was so stiff that it made each of his movements seem jerky and erratic.

"I-I'm Luka. I'm a hero!" He blurted out, not really thinking as he internally squirmed under the gaze of a cute girl. "Do you know Tamamo...Sakura?" He tried asking again. His form trembling once, betraying his attempt to hide his nervousness.

"W-What's with this heat?!"

Luka complained as he stepped out of the inn. The young man looked up to the glinting sunlight in the distance. The sight of the fissure made his heart skip a beat however as it seemed almost wider than it was the day before or the day of his 'sidequest.' The hole they created couldn't have really caused this much of a crack could it? After all, they were just trying to bring more light in the underground...Right? Still, seeing the normally happy folks of Snowdin walk about with sluggish steps as they trudged through the slurry of melted ice gave him a bad feeling.

"G͠o,̧ ̸Brąve ͞hero. Mak̕e͏ ̛a níc͟e stew ͜óùt͢ ͝óf̷ t͜h̸ós͘e ̧r̀as̸c̷àl҉ly̸ ̵r̀a̷b̸b͢it mon̴s̛t̷ers͘.͠"

He shrugged it off however, and moved toward the only suitable place he knew of to get a bite to eat.

"..."

The lilac haired hero would peek into the always toasty bar and look about at the (unusual) patrons that had been gathered. His gaze settled, of course, on the swishing tails of the kitsune girl sitting at the bar. The young man blinked a few times, resisting the urge to come up and ask if he could touch one of her impossibly fluffy tails. He shook it off however as he stepped into the bar fully and approached the girl.

With a smile and a wave the young man would greet her. "Hey there! You...Uh...You wouldn't happen to be one of Tamamo's followers by any chance would you? I've been stuck here for about a week now and I..." He paused glancing aside to her companion. His gaze met the skeletons dimly glowing eyes and a hiss of a memory tickled the back of his ear.

"Don't trust any walking skeletons."

He cleared his throat, deciding it best not to disclose his origin all of a sudden as he looked back to the girl. "...Sorry, that's not important. Do you have any idea who I'm talking about?" He asked raising a brow. "N-not that I'm assuming all Kitsunes know each other it's just she's real important and one of the monster lords heavenl-Er yeah she's real important." He interrupted himself with a cough, cutting a nervous glance to the hooded skeleton to try and gauge a reaction (with mixed results.)

"I mean considering you have nine tails you must be real important yourself..." He observed nervously scratching the back of his neck.

Everything had happened so fast that Luka had a hard time to process it. As his 'Seraph' form dissipated the young man would end up standing in the sunlight with everyone else.

The young hero smiled as the familiar feeling of the sun's warmth washed over him.

Seeing how the party seemed to die down, the happy hero would give a polite bow to the skilled dancers before excusing himself. It had been quite the long day so far and while this was certainly an entertaining end the young man felt fatigue creeping up on him. Despite the warmth of mirth he was freezing and starving. While he realistically shouldn't have spent some of the money the generous little flower gifted him: he never the less decided that it was a worthwhile. He might go a little hungry but the imp and his friends surely wouldn't.

So while humming along with the electronic beat, Luka walked into the inn.

9
"...Alright, I think I understand." Luka said, giving a slightly unsure grin as the situation was cryptically explained to him. "More importantly...In order to bring in the light. We need to break this ceiling right?" He asked, watching the trails of ice and the crashing hurricane smash against the spot. "Then leave it to me! One final blow should be enough!" He cried out as he drew his monstrous looking blade: 'Angel Halo' with a flourish, flicking his cape while holding his blade out to his side. He held it there for a moment, until one of his eyes erupted with a mighty flame.

His leg slid slightly to give him a wider stance as the sound of something organic cracking and popping into place echoed from him. A single golden wing, composed of energy would stretch itself out before unfurling with a dramatic flap. The boy clenched his hands around the hilt of his blade as he pointed it toward the crack. The tip of the blade sung with a high pitched whine as his considerable magic began to swirl at the point forming a glowing sphere.

"All life returns to the nature from whence it came!"

He called out, his tone sharper and far more serious than it had ever been before firing the sphere with another pulse of magic.

"Heavenly Demon Revival!"

Unless stopped, the magic bolt would shoot towards the fissures created by Sprite and Gust and explode violently. Any unfortunate monsters that got caught in the explosion would find themselves sealed into a much more vulnerable, less powerful state.

10
The soft padding of footsteps echoed throughout the caverns as the lilac haired hero finally made his approach. "Hoyyyy!" The fallen seraph called out; Waving his hand above his head enthusiastically with a big warm smile on his face. The 'fake hero' as it were, was drenched head to toe, causing his dark cape to slap and stick against his back with each step.

"You wouldn't believe what happened, I was on my way over when a gust of wind knocked me off balance and sent me tumbling into the water!" He explained, rubbing the back of his neck with a sheepish grin as he slowed to a stop. "It was crazy! I was sent barreling down the current, I almost was washed away but I used my sword to... Never mind it doesn't really matter! Point is I didn't realize you guys had such weather...Though I suppose it makes sense, that one forest has snow. I mean when you think about it that doesn-" He stopped his babbling as he felt the lingering chill in the air. It was enough to make him shudder.

"..."

He blinked, looking to Flowey and Sprite before cutting his gaze to the two newcomers. He realized he had somehow wandered into an uncomfortable situation of some sort and he was sort of at a disadvantage.

"...Is everything alright?"

He wasn't sure, but this cavern seemed kind of dusty...

Luka, being the dimwit that he was didn't even notice the shift in the puck's air. In fact he just seemed to smile wider at the fact that everyone seemed to be having a good time. The Fallen Seraph's eyes closed as he let out a genuine chuckle.

"Wow! All of you are really great! I'm really amazed you can move this well to this 'music' I've never heard an instrument make such a noise!"

The a͏̣̤̻̰n̯͍̮̮̰͎͙̕ǫ̩̺̝m̝̲a̝̲̯̼̲͢l͕̼̪͍̝ỳ̖̮̳ beamed, showing a little bit more of his ignorance as he happily tapped his foot to the beat the best he could. He had no idea what Alice or any of the heavenly knights would have said to seeing him dance with complete strangers (no that's not true, he knew at least one or more of them would dismiss him as an idiot) but he seemed to be having fun. For a moment, he felt as if he were...Safe. It was like he never really had his journey go so horribly awry. He'd have to grow to treasure moments like this.

The hapless adventurer that the Puck had been busily making fun of by pantomiming was none other than a certain 'Fake Hero' that the sunflower had introduced to this world. Luka, being as thick headed as he was, had no idea he was being followed. He instead found his sapphire gaze fixated on the beauty of the Waterfall. He trudged ahead, his leather boots squeaking and slipping (most likely much to Sprite's delight and amusement) on the damp ground as he tried to find the rendezvous the flower had set for him. He was sure that he could help a little guy like him. After all on one of his earliest adventures he had already faced dragons, vampires, nagas, and goblins (all of them were kids but still) this first adventure in this mysterious underground was probably going to be of the same caliber.

...Wasn't it?

The young man paused, crossing his arms and resting his fist on his jaw as he thought about his current situation. He was going to help a flower monster get some sunlight. It seemed simple enough but for some reason, his words 'beware the skeleton men' or whatever still rang in his head like an omen or something.

It was probably nothing.

Right?

The young man continued his trek, the golden streak passing him by without even so much as a blink coming from the hero. It wouldn't be long till he reached the flower.

Luka had been busily doing his best to clap to the beat (though he seemed a little off) as he swayed his body back and forth. The young man let out a hearty laugh, his cheeks flushing with his mirth and the bitter cold. He glanced aside at the drider looking girl who approached and joined in along with a...Something or another. It wasn't long till there was an impromptu party happening that he manged to find himself being caught up in. A bitter tug curled around his elated grin however, he couldn't help but think that if humanity had seen these monsters acting like this that maybe...Just maybe they could better see that coexistence was a possibility.

He shook it off however as the teleporty flippy interloper had been upstaged by the towering spire the sprite rose as soon as the beat dropped. Luka audibly gasped at the dazzling display of translucent light the spire had created filling the village with patches of disco-like light. The music only seemed to get more and more intense as now all eyes seemed to fixated on the troupe.

"Keep it up! You're doing great!"

"Is that...Music?" The 'Fake Hero' Luka uttered hearing the strange technobabble coming from the monster boy's boombox as he made his way into the sleepy town of Snowdin. It had only been a few hours since he was roused by the golden flower and told of the village. What he came to see was something he hadn't expected at the very least. A bundled up monster dancing with what he assumed was something like Promestein's Chimeras. The young man blinked a few times  before cracking a warm smile. With a laugh and a cheer he'd let out a few claps (that were muffled by his leather gloves) before giving one of the gold coins that was supposed to be used for his room and board to the duo.

"Your music is so unique! I've never heard anything like it, or...Well SEEN anything like that either!" He beamed, clenching his fists and resting them on his hips. The lavender haired boy seemed easily amused at the very least.
