Snowdin / Re: Part II: Insomniac Days
« on: March 23, 2017, 12:58:16 pm »
Boomerang had been in his own little world when Meka approached him. Just as he was going to greet her, he was gently tapped on the head. This gave the canine monster a start before a smile formed on his muzzle.
He did a 360 in his stool; he tried to speak but she passed him and he turned to face her again. He leaned on the counter waiting for her to get settled. The place was rowdy and that put him on guard but a friendly face eased him quite a bit.

At her offer he nodded. Almost laughing at her flustered look. He never thought of it the way she had almost intended. "If you're treating I'll take whatever you recommend."

Boomerang trudged through the now slushie snow of Snowdin, if you could even call it that at this point.
He flicked his upturned hear, hearing a bit more goings-on than usual at Grillbys. He shrugged, he was hungry anyway so he made his way to the establishment.
Opening the door, he looked at the group that had gathered there.  With all the goings on, he hadn't expected anyone to really be out and about, but everyone seemed in good spirits. He took a seat at the bar to mull over his meal.

Lethal?! He hadn't even considered a minor thing such as this poison being lethal... Then again, it was poison all the same. He looked down at Meka, he doubted that she'd just rouse if he shook her.
He looked to Goopy, waiting for a response to Undyne's questions. He was glad someone who knew what they were doing was present. He probably would've let the slime being leave without even finding out if Meka could perish due to his negligence.

Boomerang listened to Meka,  wishing he could say something, anything to help her. He opened his mouth to speak but she fell forward before he could utter a word.
He bolted forward, catching her before she hit the ground.
He held her close in a hug before looking to the slime monster. "You sure you don't know anything?"

Boomer looked uncomfortable with having his paw touched, but let Meka continue to do whatever it was she was doing. Once the pain alleviated, he felt so relieved he could've kissed the boss monster. "Thank you." He wanted to say more, but noticed a rather odd look on her face.
She seemed to be out of it, as if entranced. "Meka? Are you okay?" He felt he needed to ask. She was acting wonky; her face looked abnormally blissful and her speech sounded as if she had spent to much time at a tavern, which to him would be even one drink.

"V-venom?" He looked at his paw. The fur wasn't falling off or anything, but it was stained red. The poison seemed to be eroding his skin. He held out his hand, letting the rain fall onto it, silently praying that the water would wash away any remaining goo.
"I only asked because there was an incident with a slime monster in a few places..." He explained, his voice calm. She seemed to be genuine in her response so he didn't feel the need to turn hostile. "We just came from Snowdin; an incident just occurred..." He seemed to have more to say, but he didn't want to outright accuse her. He simply smiled. "Sorry if I seemed... Mean. It's just my friend here is very upset..."

Boomerang drew his paw back quickly, a slow stinging starting as the goop slipped through his fur to his skin. He tried to shake it off, but ultimately ignored it; how bad could it be?
"You weren't disturbing us," he spoke gently, though he was already thinking of a million questions to ask her. A slime type monster stole Meka's sister and one just showed up; was it mere coincidence? "I actually have a question for you... Did you happen to be around Snowdin a bit ago?" He wasn't sure how blunt he sounded. There was no telling how much of the conversation she had heard. Did she know he was trying to force her to admit to a kidnapping?

Boomerang stood, listening to Undyne and Meka's back and forth. There wasn't much he could do; he had just met her and couldn't offer an information that would aid the investigation.
"Their house was rather far off..." He chimed in. "I'd been in Snowdin a few times, but I'd never seen it..."
He let Meka go on explaining, cringing slightly when the term 'kill' came up. He never saw a reason for a monster to kill its own kind; he couldn't even think of why they would want to kidnap them.
When his brain was about to follow Meka's line of thinking, that stronger monsters were being lured, his nose picked up an unfamiliar scent.
He turned his head towards where Goopy was approaching and turned on his paws. As if stalking prey, he crept closer to her. "Hey, what are you doing here?" He had circled around slightly so he could stand behind her. His question was accompanied by a tap on the shoulder.

Boomerang couldn't speak. This was happening right under his nose and he knew nothing of it? He fought the urge to shake his head.
He was shaken from his thoughts when Undyne summoned her weapon. He watched it fly and turned his attention back to the warrior when she began to ask questions. Of course, he couldn't answer any of them since he and Meka had just met; he hadn't even met her sister. All he could do was simply sit back and listen to Meka's answers to the question.
He didn't feel he had to voice he was willing to help in any way possible; he had already made that promise to Meka; having Undyne help only made things easier.

Boomerang glanced over at Meka to see how she was holding up, he didn't expect to feel her grasp his paw. He simply let her, even gripping her's a bit in a sign of comfort. He said nothing, allowing Undyne time to examine the situation that Meka explained far better than him.

Boomerang felt the water dripping onto his fur, making it heavier and heavier until it was plastered to his skin.
He looked around on their way to the head of the royal guard's abode, looking for signs of anything or anyone suspicious; he couldn't even smell a stranger in the land. He looked around sniffing still until his ears flattened from the sound of a wall shattering.
What in the Underground was that?! He had lived in Waterfall for a while, and he really should be used to random loud noises, but they still caught the canid monster off guard.
When Undyne addressed him, he simply smiled as normally as he could. "Good day, Undyne. We actually need your help... My friend here... Her sister went missing... Right out of her house..."

Boomerang looked around, sighing when he couldn't scent another canine. "Guess we're heading back to Waterfall."
He looked towards the river, silently rejoicing that the River Person wouldn't be their escort. Despite it being the faster way of travel, he didn't want to have to deal with that one again.
Without thinking, he took Meka's hand, squeezing it reassuringly. "We'll find her. We just have to hurry and use our heads." He let go and patted her head before heading towards the river. Knowing she'd follow, he took off running towards Waterfall and to Undyne's house.

((again sorry. i did get a notif this time but my phone jacked up and i had to restart and forgot til Undyne messaged me that you had replied)

Boomerang stood, listening. He became a little concerned at her last statement, but decided against voicing his concerns once the smoke escaped Meka's maw. He nodded. "Sounds like a plan. They have bases around here, correct?"

Boomerang stood silently, studying the scene before him. He couldn't fathom what monster would leave slime... Well, not one that would be so devious as to kidnap another monster.
His attention turned to Meka as she addressed him. Before he could deny or confirm his help in the situation she was out the door. He turned to follow, looking back at the adult monsters for a moment. "We'll find your daughter, and I'll watch after Meka." With that said, he bolted after Meka, any sense of stealth left behind.
He easily caught up with the young goat, using a sudden burst of adrenaline to fill the gap she made. "Let's think before we rush off into the unknown... What could she have gotten into?"
