When she heard his response to her question, she smiled lightly, seeing where the joke was headed, "Adore who?" She'd respond with appropriately, eager to hear the punchline. Sure enough it came shortly after and like all his jokes no matter how corny, made her laugh.

"Of course, of course, come in" Toriel would open the door, holding it open to welcome him in with a warm smile, "Come on in and get comfortable, it must be rather cold out there, would you like a hot drink?" She'd ask, before fumbling with her own hands a little shyly, "It's always lovely to see you again, what brings you here today Sans? Did something happen?" He seemed to be in a good mood though so at least maybe it was something good if anything had happened.

The whole event with Austin and June had left a pretty big impact on a lot of monsters, and Toriel was one who was still trying adapt to the thought of having Asriel back and able to be in her arms once more. She tried to keep her usual routine for the most part but she found herself filled with arguably even more thoughts then what she had when she first left the rest of the Underground originally.
Her thoughts were snapped out of anything too deep quickly though when she heard a knock on her door. Who could be visiting now?
The voice and two words said answered her question, quickly cutting off any anxious thoughts on who it might be before they got out of hand. The goat monster would approach her front door rather swiftly, excited to see the skeleton again, but stopped once her hand wrapped around the handle of her door, she smiled thinking of the time she'd first met him at the door between the Ruins and the Underground and promptly answered with, "Who's there?"

Toriel would watch the reflection of her flames as they danced in the young Prince's eyes, she didn't know exactly what he was thinking but she hoped they were happier thoughts.
She then nodded to the younger monster, "It may take some time, but you're my strong little monster, you can do it~" She would smile encouragingly, believing that he in time would overcome the changes. She was glad though, already he was wanting and liking the idea of being shown how things could be. He still seemed unsure in regards to Sans though, "I'll handle things with him my Dear, don't worry~ He'll listen" She smiled when he seemed to turn around on the matter, she had a few ideas in mind on how to start such a conversation with Sans already, but she'd deal with that later.
"You're welcome to whenever you'd like to, I wonder if your father has my number still- Mmmm" She glanced aside, of course he didn't after she left she had cut off contact with him, "Perhaps we could work out some easy way for you to be in contact with me, should you wish to visit or meet with me someplace? We'll have to mention it to Asgore, I'm sure we could also organize for times the three of us could spend together also"

When the padded footsteps and armor jingle sounded, the former Queen would raise her head up and look in the direction of the noise. She smiled gently seeing that it was Essurn, bowing her head back to him after he bowed to them.
It was getting quite late and it had been quite the long day, Asriel for one could use a very big rest and should be in bed at a good time for his age. Before she spoke up, the Prince did for her which took her a bit by surprise especially in how he requested that someone escort her home as well. "O-oh! It's quite alright Asriel, I'll be okay on my way home~" She smiled at him, ruffling the top of his head gently again, "That aside, make sure this young man gets lots of rest and is in bed at a good time for me~" She gave a rather playful sort of smile, "It would be nice to sort out some sort of easy communication for Asriel to keep in touch with me, maybe by phone message? Just in case he wants to drop by or wants for me to visit? I don't mind the King having my number if need be in that case. Aside from that though, I believe we're good to go for now" She would lean down, wrapping her arms around Asriel for a few moments in one last hug, "I'll see you again soon, it's so wonderful to have my baby boy back.." Getting back to her feet, she seemed to rub her eyes very briefly and rather quickly before giving both Asriel and Essurn a smile, allowing for enough time to exchange any numbers or information that might be needed in regards to the phone numbers so Asriel could message whenever he needed.

"Please make sure he and his father make it home safety, Essurn, and please thank Asgore for allowing me to speak to our son alone for a moment, I hope he has a speedy recovery, I know he'll take good care of Asriel whenever he's in his care-- He is also welcome to contact me if he needs too, you take now~!" Glad she got to speak to Asriel before the day ended, she could now head home with a more level head, she had lots on mind given how the day had gone, including thoughts on Asgore and happier ones at that which was quite the welcoming change. With all being said and done, she would give a wave to the two before beginning to head off, with or without escort.

Toriel watched as Asriel looked at his own hands, causing a brief spark and for his fur to rise a little bit, she smiled at him before bringing her own hands together, keeping them at a safe distance from the younger monster before giving off her own flickers of bright purple flames. "We'll work on that, you can practice with me and with others, I have no doubt that your father and I can arrange for that" With a flick of her hand, the flames would disappear, fading away into the air.

The Queen would then give Asriel a small smile, shaking her head, "Oh dear, no I'm sure he wouldn't laugh at you" She would give his head another ruffle, gently rubbing a thumb over the area where he would one day, grow horns "I'm sure he want's to see you do better just as much as your father and I. I'll talk to him, okay? We're close, I'm sure we can work something out" She would glance aside lightly, she didn't exactly want to bring up the dating and such in front of Asriel. Not that it was a bad thing, but he was already going through alot.

When Asriel began recounting what had happened between him and Sans back at the Core, Toriel fell silent to listen, putting a hand to one of her cheeks as she did. It was quite the story, but it also had a lot of detail, so she didn't believe he was making it up at all. Still. The talk of timelines and all, she had only had experience with all this back when Flowey was still around and when they had those headbands. "I'll for sure speak to Sans about this okay my dear? If he's the only other monster who can move around while you do this, he's the best one to help in teaching you how to control it and use it for good" She smiled hopefully and with encouragement., she believed in her son afterall.

"I'm glad too" She smiled, "Things are looking promising for the future"
She then nodded. "You're not wrong there, it is soothing." She would close her eyes. It'd been a while since she had even been to this part of the Underground, so it was nice to be reminded of the nice spots like this one.
Soothing, it was certainly something Asriel needed, she didn't blame him for wanting to come here, she was quite glad he had a safe spot really. She made note to tell Asgore about it just in case it was needed later when Asriel was with him and not her.
"I know your father wants to keep you around the castle more for your sake, but I promise to visit often, I'll bring your favourite pie each time too~" She would give Asriel a warm smile, he had a lot of heavy thoughts on his mind, she wanted to make sure there where some nice ones there too. "And you're always welcome to visit me as well"

"All monsters can have bad thoughts Asriel, what's important is that you choose instead to act upon the good thoughts,
 and not the bad
" When he pleaded with those big red eyes, Toriel would close her eyes for a moment, pulling him close in the embrace, "But you couldn't feel while you where Flowey, if you could, you'd of felt what you're feeling now when you think back on it, that makes a big difference my young Prince. You could control what you could do, but you couldn't control how you felt about it" She would rub the top of his head with one hand, gently squeezing one of his shoulders with the other. "Without your heart and soul, you couldn't feel the full weight of what you where doing, you couldn't feel bad about it, you do now. You only did those things because you didn't have that golden soul of yours my dear" She would rub her nose against his for a few moments, managing a smile, "Your golden soul couldn't ever want to cause anyone any harm"

"You should trust in your heart to do the right thing, something I already trust Asriel, and if you ever doubt, know that your father and I will always be here for you, we'll never leave you. You have the chance now to turn things around my dear" She wondered. Could he ever turn things around in Sans' eyes now? She knew Flowey had done some awful things to Sans in the past. But he was Asriel now. Maybe there was a chance?
The Queen would look to Asirel in her arms, letting him explain how he could stop time. She raised her eyebrow lightly, him stopping time, and it didn't effect Sans? "What did he say to you?" She would ask, before giving him a warm smile. "Don't be scared my dear child, we'll learn how to handle it, Sans could help you even if he's still able to move whenever you do it, I could ask him about it, it's all a matter of practice, I'm sure you'll learn how to use it for good things in time" She didn't want Asriel to feel as though his abilities where bad, or harmful, they could be used for good things afterall.

She gave a weak smile at what he asked next. "Of course, I doubt he missed grumpy old me though, Heheh" She would look aside slightly, "I've always wanted to be friends with him again. It just took until recent for your father to have a wake up call on the thing he was doing that broke my heart. I suppose he didn't quite get it when I tried to get him to stop originally. But oh well, it's all in the past now. If he's truly stopping his goal to kill humans, then I have no reason to fight him, it was what broke us apart in the first place afterall" She honestly hoped she really could get along better with Asgore, after spending years of never wanting to see him again. For Asriel's sake, she would try to give him time's of seeing them happy together, even just as friends, if it's what would make the child happy.
"May Mummy ask why you chose to come here in particular, Asriel?"

Toriel had been following along closely behind Asriel, letting him lead the way to the statue at Waterfall. She watched the young Prince place the umbrella he had brought along on the statue, smiling lightly as she also listened to the music box play. It had been a while since she had visited the rest of the Underground, she was greatful in how Sans had been helping her get out of the Ruins more often, places like here were always rather beautiful to her.
When Asriel thanked her, she looked down at him, looking a bit confused, "Oh" She would place a hand on his head and would ruffle the small tuft of hair on his head. "Of course my dear".

When he spoke again, she would simply listen, letting him say all that he needed to. When he finished, she would smile weakly, getting onto her knees as well as she knelt beside him, placing her hands in her lap. "Asriel" She began, placing a hand on his shoulder, "You are not Flowey, you have a heart, he did not, see this here" She would carefully point to both the pendant and to the area on Asriel's chest where a heart would be. "Would Flowey be here apologizing to others for his actions right now? Would he of tried as hard as you did to protect other monsters back at the Core?" She shook her head. "No, but you did. You are very different to Flowey, don't you ever forget that" She took in a breath at the part about Asgore, hanging down her head lightly as she closed her eyes.
"Because he was fully aware of what he was doing, and had the option to not do it, I begged him not to Asriel, but he still killed them, I believe we have other ways out of the Underground, but your father, up until recent, seemed hellbent on the path of using human souls to get us out. Children or not, that I could not forgive. Though I see he is having a change of mind.. You on the otherhand, haven't hurt anyone. Flowey did, a monster with no soul, no heart, that wasn't something you could control, that wasn't something you where in full control of. You are now though, and you haven't hurt anyone" She would put her hand back in her lap, opening her eyes, but keeping them low.
"Because you're my baby boy, Asriel, you always will be, I'll always love you, I don't hate your father" She looked aside, "He's just made decisions with his heart and soul that greatly hurt Mummy, you have not, does that make sense?" She would ask, looking back to Asriel.
Toriel would take in a breath shortly after though, attempting to gently rub a hand behind one of Asriel's ears. "I know it may not seem like it. But I have missed your father very much as well, but for the longest time, he hasn't been the monster I fell in love with, all this killing humans for their souls business, just wasn't like him to me. I do hope to be friends with him again someday and I'll make sure that whatever hardships he and I have, that it does not effect you. I want to best for my little boy" She would give the younger monster a warm smile, trying to clear his face of his tears if he let her.

Toriel would nod again at Asgore's decision, a walk and talk, and nothing else was just fine to her, so long as they got to have a word in, she could offer the pie again perhaps, another time, or give it to him in thanks in another way. Either way, she was glad he accepted and was much better now, she was certainly starting to view him a lot differently compared to what she had been for the past couple of years.

"I'm sure my kitchen should be alright, but I'll be sure to check up on it after a stroll." Given the distance between the Ruins and the Hotland, she was not quite sure just how much the quakes had effected her home, but she would see soon enough.

"Of course we can Asriel~ Waterfall would be a lovely place to go for a walk either way." She smiled warmly at the young goat monster, rather glad he had somewhere in mind that he actually wanted to go visit.

Toriel would soon scoop up Asriel into her arms once more, making sure to have a safe hold on him before beginning the walk, leaving Hotlands behind to head off to Waterfall as Asriel requested.

Toriel, although she by no means minded or was bothered by Sans being strapped to her back, was happy to see him on his feet again once he slipped off her back.
She looked a bit concerned at the uncomfortable silence he and Asriel then shared though, she watched, placing her hands together in front of her as the two boys stared at each other. She did understand the discomfort though, given the whole situation with Flowey and Sans which they'd been made aware about not too long ago.
Just as she was about to speak up though, they would respond, Asriel first, followed by Sans, she wasn't convinced by what he said, they certainly didn't seem to be 'cool'.... She would give Sans a look, one that told him that he didn't need to lie to her for her sake, she knew somewhat of the two's past, and even though Asriel had improved and wasn't exactly Flowey anymore, she knew Sans had every right to be cautious of him and uncomfortable of him, and that was something she felt would never come to truly pass for the skeleton. She respected that the two where trying, but it wasn't going to be forced on them. She made no comment back on it, she simply closed her eyes and let out a breath as Sans went to address his brother, and she and Asriel where approached by Asriel's father, Asgore.

The goat monster would look to the King as he got to them, and, she would smile back to him, with a slight bit of warmth in her smile as she did so. She was proud of Asgore really, how he was starting to make better, kinder decisions, more like the Asgore she truly knew, not the one that she knew by the time the two split all those years ago.
It kind of pained her to see him hurt, even after being healed a bit. She looked aside a little, looking guilty, she should probably help him more. She might not think he was the best of monsters, but he didn't deserve to be hurt like this, not after today's events. Even if they had argued earlier.
Toriel would nod in agreement at what Asgore said to Asriel. It was important to have him be checked on.
She would then think on what Asgore said next. "Asgore" She would place a hand on his shoulder comfortingly, "It would be nice to discuss some things with our son, if that's okay, I understand he needs to see Alphys as well and I won't get in the way of that, but I would like to talk to him quickly first, maybe the three of us could go someplace nicer? I could bake you something nice to have to help those injuries, if you would like" She glanced aside, it had been years since she'd really done anything for Asgore, let alone cook him something, cooking was only for people she valued and believed were good, "You can take him straight to Alphys right after. But I think some time would do us well." She added, as she put her arms behind her back and looked at Asgore. She wasn't sure if he'd accept this though, but she was hoping he would, she did not blame him if he was too tired though.

Toriel only giggled harder at Sans at the heart part, they where getting a bit side tracked, but at least hey where safe, and Sans' mood was being lifted after the incident before. Smiling and chuckling was much better then being sad and droopy.
"With pleasure~" She answered back before another round of giggles would roll out at his raised eye-ridges move.

The Goat was glad that her small flames move worked out to their advantage, as it caused the bull to struggle more and eventually it would give off a bang. With all their efforts combined, they managed to overthrow the mechanical beast, and soon enough they where being ushered to leave the area. Toriel, since she still had Sans to look after, and also wanted to check on Asriel, would follow suit, keeping a close eye on Sans still as she did so, motherly instinct maybe?
Once out, Asgore beat her to going to him, and would set Asriel down by her. She gave Asgore a polite respectful, and thankful nod before looking to Asriel. She would kneel down and would place a hand on one of the young goat's cheeks, the other hand going to gently ruffle his hair, "You're so brave" She would put her arms around him, giving him a gentle hug, "Are you alright Dear? Do you feel okay?" She tried to stay at a respectful and understanding level for Asriel, but also tried to stand a bit for Sans sake.
She knew Sans and Papyrus, at some point, would probably want to talk, but until Papyrus was out and ready, she kept Sans with her for now. She would glance back to the skeleton also, "How're you feeling now gentlebones~?"

Toriel was glad that Sans seemed to like the roommate idea, and she was even more glad that the talk did seem to raise his spirits, she loved seeing him happy afterall.
When Sans continued though, saying she was also welcome to his and Papyrus' home too, Toriel couldn't help but to smile "I'd love to Sans~" She'd then go a little pink though at his compliments, "Oh you~" She'd giggle, placing a hand over her mouth. As he hugged her, she'd smile. "I see kind Skeleton with a great sense of humor and a big heart, who always does his best to make those around him, happy " She'd pause, "I don't know about you, but there's a lot of good to see in your bag of bones~" Looking back at him again, her smile would grow, there was plenty of wonderful things about Sans, he ought to know it!
She fell silent as Sans explained what he knew of the Core, when he asked why she asked about it, she'd explain, "I'm just wondering if it could be used to our advantage somehow here, so if any ideas come to mind, feel free to say" She'd eye the Core again, it held a lot of power.

When Papyrus' Blaster piped up, Toriel jumped lightly, as she had forgotten that Papyrus could hear them as well. Oh dear~
Toriel returned Sans' nervous smile as Papyrus spoke, she remained quiet to let the brothers speak, smiling and laughing lightly at their banter, they where really quite the duo. When the Blaster turned to her, she'd laugh a little louder, "That sounds terribly fun to me, Papyrus"
Her focus would return to Sans though when his attention went back to her, she listened, nodding lightly to show she understood. She liked his idea, and knew what she needed to do. "I sure can do that for you~" She'd confirm, as she ignited her hands with her signature purple flames, once her hands where hot, she'd then do as Sans instructed, and would send, little dancing flames all around the field, surrounding J.O.H.N. With them, she'd try her best to avoid the flames causing any harm to other monsters on the field though. She'd keep her hands up and her stance steady, focusing on keeping the flames up around J.O.H.N.
"There we go!" She'd say confidentially, taking a glance back at Sans--
But her eyes where quick to search for her child out in the field, had she not of been so taken aback by the sight of what was going on, she probably would've screamed.
She didn't want to watch Asriel be in so much danger, she couldn't bear to watch, but she couldn't cover her eyes as she had to keep them peeled to protect Sans. Being strapped to her back, Sans could probably feel that Toriel was shuddering and shaking, her focus on the flames faltered a bit, but she kept them going- Maybe it would help Undyne, maybe it would help Asriel, Maybe it would help Asgore and all the others.
As tempted as she was to get out there herself, she knew she could not risk Sans- She would not risk Sans.
"Please be okay, please, please..."

"During the war that was years ago Asgore, no human alive is still one with monster dust on their hands.." She would shake her head, Taking a step away when Asgore referred to June as a 'thing', an 'echo' and she didn't have to say what came to mind when he said that, the voice belonging to someone they couldn't see properly said it for her.
What does that make Asriel?
It would be unfair to see him as anything else but what he called June, simply because Asriel was their son and a monster, and June was not.
"Oh AM I? How can you be so sure that your way WILL work, Asgore? It was said how many years ago? Where monsters sealed away before to test to make sure such a thing works? How can you be so sure that your method is not just as foolish as you see mine? At least my way does not have their kind being so spiteful towards ours because none of them would be dead over something you don't even know will work yourself."
The goat hung her head in disappointed towards Asgore, although, Papyrus seemed to give him a change of mind, and he would take her hand in the end. She remained silent as he continued his talk to Papyrus, before looking back at the King as he said her shortened name. She looked aside though at what the talk was about. She wanted to be with Asriel, of course, she was his mother after all. But she had to do what was best for Asriel, not what she wanted. She would listen over Asgore's words as he explained more so as to why Asriel would be better off staying at New Home.
His move to cradle her cheek took her a bit by surprise, and her eyes would widen a bit as she felt his hand and thumb on her face, she blinked, looking at Asgore first before glancing over to Sans..
Toriel would take a breath and would back up a little, just so Asgore wasn't too close, but she didn't shove away his cradle or him for doing it, she'd manage a small smile for him and would nod. "Right, I'd like to see him when I can but-"
She paused, as things with the robotic bull and the rest of the group began to become tense and rather serious. She was rather glad to hear that Undyne regretted what she did and that she did not wish to ever do it again. Learning from mistakes was the mature thing to do here.
When Asgore said they could talk about it later, she would nod in agreement. Leaving him to attend what he needed to.

Toriel found herself rather... Stunned with what came next.
June's brother seemed to take control over the bull himself and began targeting direct monsters, when it targeted Sans, Toriel went wide eyed, No! He hadn't done anything wrong! She held out a hand, "STOP! STOP IT! HE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING TO HURT JUNE!" She would bellow, but Austin continued no matter what her or any of the others said. She watched, boy could that skeleton move, she held her breath, his teleports where getting sloppier, he was getting tired and her panic was rising the more this went on. To top it off, Undyne lost an entire arm trying to stop the bull. Toriel clasped her hands over her mouth after Asriel had gotten out of her embrace, being in too much shock to pick him back up right away. Everything was happening so quickly, she shook her head, going to pick Asriel up once more, but before she had, she looked up as she heard Papyrus calling out to her, Asgore assured her that Asriel would be safe also. She would pause before heading for Papyrus instead of Asriel, going as fast as she could.
When she reached the taller skeleton, he had Sans in his arms. Grateful, she was that Sans was alive, but he now had the anti-magic field himself...
"S-Sans!" She would cry out, she wanted to hold him safely in her arms like Papyrus had done, but Papyrus had an idea, she was a bit surprised by it, but would not move and allowed for him to put Sans on her back, "O-Oh!" She would bleat as the harness was formed to secure him on her back, she held out her arms so Papyrus had less of a challenge to get the bones around her to form the breastplate. She blinked, taking in a deep breath as she felt the additional lightness from Papyrus. She would then nod to him when he said he was leaving the blaster with them, "Please stay safe Papyrus" She would say rather sadly, she was scared for him too after all.

As Papyrus headed off to put a plan into action, Toriel was at first a little quiet, before she'd look back at Sans... He wasn't looking at her.
"Sans..." She said softly, glancing around every so often, she had to after all, she would not risk him getting hurt further.
"I'm sorry. I should have done more to stop him." She added, glancing back at him again, "I promise to fix this." She would say, as, she'd reach back and attempt to run a finger along Sans' skull affectionately.
Honestly, the way he was cradled on her back like that, she found to be quite cute, she'd smile lightly, her cheeks going a light shade of pink as her thoughts ran about her mind for a little while, she didn't say them aloud though.
"You know. Um. With Asriel staying at New Home with his father, I thought maybe-" She paused, making sure they where secure again. The bull was being handled by Asgore, June seemed to be on their side, Papyrus and the others where handling the canisters and more. Her job was to mind Sans, she feared getting involved with the other things would only be putt him at risk, which was not something she was willing to do.
But there where things that they could do instead.
"Well, I imagine you wouldn't want to as you have a home in Snowdin with your lovely brother, but, you and him are welcome to visit and stay for as long as you wish to with me in the Ruins at any time that you want to" She would say, looking aside a little nervously, had she said exactly what she was meaning to say?

Either way, she seemed the change topic, looking instead to the core, which she remembered hearing about earlier from Sans himself and in Papyrus' story. The bull had been connected to it also, getting power from it. "Sans" She spoke up again, "What can you tell me about the core?" She'd ask, as she stood on her side slightly to let Sans have a bit of a better look at it, her hands where raised defensively though in case anything or anyone came their way. "Do you think it could help in this situation somehow?" She added before she'd look at Asgore, with the bull charging him. He had taken responsibility for his actions and had gotten Austin to turn on him rather then anyone else. Watching the bull draw closer brought on an urge to react, to shoot out flames or something to help the other goat monster, but it would be wrong to interfere...
She could perhaps, try and heal the Captain also, but she needed to keep Sans in mind with what she chose to do, it would be best for them to do something they could work together on, or something she could do where his safety was ensured. Papyrus also seemed to have the same idea though, and she'd smile seeing him help Undyne.

Speaking of smiles, she missed Sans', and she'd glance back again, giving him a warm one of her own, but it wouldn't have any effect if he kept looking away like that, it saddened her seeing him this way actually "Sans.. ? Where's that handsome smile of yours? Can I see it? Please?" She had also taken note that he'd had some of her pie to heal when Papyrus was still putting him on her back. "It's rather nice having you so close to me, you know?" She'd add, was that a wink?

Toriel was expecting a reaction from Undyne, since the girl had what? Been brought up TO believe in Asgore, so of course she was going to defend him, no matter what. "Dear Undyne, I never said I was not guilty, there are things we ALL could be doing much better.
But I have not killed anyone, I have not taken away anyone else's freedom to gain back my own
" No matter what the Head of the Royal Guard said however, Toriel stood her guard, and did not give the fish any looks of which she would give to Asgore, how could she? Asgore had raised the poor monster like this. She didn't really want to believe that all of the old Asgore was gone, but she was not seeing anything left of him.
"You can't "runaway" in the Underground, there is nowhere TO run, you yourself are fighting to have the barrier destroyed, I went someplace else in the Underground because everyone preffered to take HIS way out over everything else! No matter the consequences, and LOOK what happened, I was trying to protect you. Trying to be the first thing that humans ran into here so they would at least have a chance to see that monsters are truly good, is that not helping to you? Am I still some coward for risking my own life by putting myself between where the humans fall and where monsters live? I help in my own way, I just do it without the praise from the people that HE gets. Just because you cannot see me helping, does not mean I am not doing anything to help" She took a breath, "You "King" never gave a peaceful faction a chance, maybe if he did, we would've already worked another way out, until he gives us that chance... " Toriel shook her head, "And what about when you reach the surface, Undyne? After having knowingly killed seven humans to achieve such rather then befriending seven to help us. The humans will just hate us again and seal us right back, his plan will not work, not how it is right now. I did not do nothing, you just saw nothing, I don't blame you though, you are only doing what you believe is right, and as am I.. Do you not regret what you've done to June? How you earnt her trust only to stab her in the back? She trusted you with her life! She fought alongside you for what was right! She believed in what you did Undyne"
The former queen would turn away from the guard, and back to Asgore.
"What I was trying to say Asgore, is that humans aren't so different to us. Their families should not have to suffer as ours have, we can be free without taking other's freedom. We all want to be free, there are better ways to go about it" She held her breath, before setting Asriel down and holding out a hand to the old King, "No more fighting, no more arguing, we are all monsters here, together, we can work out a better way, a more peaceful way out of the Underground to reunite with both the surface, and all whom walk on it" For the first time in what felt like forever, she would offer a small smile to Asgore.
"Together, we can work to a peaceful solution, one where we know they won't still be scared of us, so we don't have to be scared of being sent back when we return... To make an even brighter future for all monsters, and monsters to come. " She would pat Asriel's head with her free hand.
"I know we have our disagreements, everyone does, but I believe truly, deep down, you don't want to kill anymore to gain our freedom, Asgore, you don't have to, we will work out a different way... I may no longer be your wife, but that does not mean we cannot be friends. The hurting has gone on long enough, I think it's time we tried something else, together... What do you say?"

Toriel would look to Asgore when he called her name, she didn't look all that impressed with him, but she did let him speak, she tried not to fully reach his gaze as he searched for hers though. She wasn't sure if he deserved the respect that a gaze held.
"I do not disagree on freeing us all from the Underground, I disagree on how you a perusing it, how you hope to achieve such in the way you're doing it" She looked uncomfortable and rather disgusted to be talking to him, "You think that I think someone should take one soul to leave and get the rest is ALSO a good idea?" She looked a bit bewildered now, had he been listening at all? "You're so stuck, so held to the thought of believing that you have to free the Underground by force rather then taking a more peaceful route, even though there are better ways presented to you to go about it, you ignore them, still believing that this violent, destructive way is the right way to our freedom" The Queen would say, shaking her head as she closed her eyes.

"Oh now you want to discuss things? After six humans have already lost their lives at your hands?" The way he worded it as though she did not wish for monsters to be free also didn't exactly help Asgore in trying to get on her good side. "You thinking that I actually WANT monsters to be stuck in the Underground forever, is the same kind of foolish thinking you have, that still has us stuck down here in the first place Asgore" She stood a tall, strong stance against the King of Monsters, "I do not hate you for wanting our people to be free, I hate you for killing innocent lives to achieve such! The humans that fall down here are not the ones whom trapped us down here, most of them probably do not even know we are here! " She let out an angered breath. "I've wanted our people to be free as much as any monster, I want to see the Sun again, and the warmth it brang. But killing humans isn't the right way. Even if we escape here that way, the humans on the surface will be angry that we did. They'll be scared of us all over again, you'll take us back to square one AGAIN, our freedom would be but for a moment, compared to what a less violent way out would be like. Rather then seven dead souls to escape, why not seven ALIVE ones, ones that would stand by our kind to spread to their own kind about the truth about monsters, that we are not the image that YOU as KING are giving to our kind, as being ones to slay down others for freedom"

She would take a breath to calm herself down a bit. Maybe Asgore was trying to finally rethink his way of trying to free the monsters, and perhaps, she, as the former queen, should help him there, help him to make the right decisions, she WAS Queen afterall. Although he could've done a bit better, she didn't want to keep yelling in front of Asriel and Sans and if it, in the end, helped the Underground come to a better plan to freedom, then it was worth a shot.
She didn't return his gentle smile, her eye's weren't sincere, it was actually quite hard to read her face at the moment.
"For the future of monsters, I will consider it, if anything, to at least try and help you, the king that they are trusting, to make better choices.".

Listening to June's story was heartbreaking for Toriel. She would find herself falling to tears. Two humans, young too and one went down to help the other, she was such a brave soul and had put her trust in their kind in search of her friend, but was too late. Toriel cast a hated look at Asgore, this was what she was talking about. That poor child was scared, he just wanted to go home, he had been thrown down here by other humans whom where bullying him, he never got a happy ending, his bullying was shortly followed by death, and as was June's after she'd tried so hard to help her friend. To do what was right.
She would shake her head.
She knew that that had been the wrong way to go about their freedom, she wished she had done more to save those two before they got to the king.
"June, I'm so sorry about you and your friend, I'm sorry that your introduction to our kind was so unpleasant, so unforgivable, but I promise not all monsters are like that. The Royal Guard where just following orders from the King... The King that I promise to soon convince to follow a different path to try and free us from being stuck down here. Thank you for sharing your story with us, you are one very brave young women." J.O.H.N's messages from her brother just added to it. She was so dearly missed.
Again, The Queen would turn to Asgore, scooping Asriel up into her arms.

"Do you remember" She began, glancing down at the young goat in her arms. She hated bringing up the old memories, they still haunted her each and every day, but she had a point to make. "When we lost Asriel. Our Son, Asgore" She teared up at the memory flooding back, but pressed on, holding Asriel close to her heart. "He was trying to do the right thing. To help. I don't know how many days I spent waiting,
even though I knew, I still waited, because he meant the world to me, as children do to their parents. We wanted him back so badly, he hadn't done anything wrong, he just tried to do the right thing. Why Asriel.. Why our little boy?
" She tried to keep herself together for Asriel, she was a strong monster, but all monsters could cry. "But nothing we did could bring him back.
He hadn't done anything wrong... You knew how much that hurt you, as a monster, as a person, as a King and as a Father.
" She would meet his gaze, finally.
"So, when you made the rule to slay humans for their souls to break the barrier. I knew the Asgore I knew was gone. You knew that, that would be doing the same to a human family, as they had to us with Asriel, you knew the pain it caused, and you where willing to put that pain on seven other parents.."
"June was just trying to help her friend get home, back to THEIR families, who are now still missing them,
while you and I now have a second chance to see Asriel again and raise him
" She would smile at Asriel, before giving Asgore a pained look of disappointment. "Where is the second chance for the human's families? You know the pain and suffering that each of their families is going through, everyone has someone who would miss them. You know that no matter how long their soul's are down here, they will still forever be missed, just like how Asriel was. A parents love for their child is true, and ever lasting afterall. It knows no ends. We where gifted with a second chance Asgore...-" She closed her eyes to cuddle Asriel, letting him know that the love for him that she held had never died. Not for a second.
"-Give them their's... Make right of what you have done wrong. Stop allowing for their families to suffer as we did when we lost our son."

June did not seem to follow with her offer, but Toriel did not blame her, it would be hard to really trust any monster after what Asgore had done to the poor soul. She was however, glad that the human had not brought any harm to anyone yet and had only pushed Papyrus back a bit, rather then attacking him.
When the mysterious voice talked to her. She would look aside before closing her eyes. The tone was mocking, mocking of Asgore. She was rather disappointed that Asgore lacked much of a response, but judging on the response he did give, she knew her point got across, and even that there was a bit of regret in there from him of his decisions. She tried to look for whom the voice belonged to, but she could not spot them, she wasn't quite sure what they where trying to achieve though.

Addin on from Papyrus, Toriel would also include; "We would prefer to hear your side of the story June, rather then to hear it from the side of the monster who did you wrong" She would cast a look at Asgore before looking back to June, "We want the real story" When she was approached by Papyrus, she would smile at the kind skeleton, she would allow him to take her hand of course, she knew he wasn't one to cause harm.
"Thank you Papyrus and it's my pleasure, thank you for doing what's right and trying to right the wrong of other monsters, I'll of course continue to support you, together we can make things right!" She then smiled, a bit surprised to hear that she was even still seen as some sort of leader at all.
She would gently squeeze his hand back before letting him let go and move to Asgore, what he said to the King was a point Toriel herself had been trying to get across for so long, and honestly.
She was so relieved she was not the only monster to see things this way anymore.

She would let Papyrus readdress June and would herself- focus on Asriel and the River guide after having been approached as the young prince was close to her. Toriel caught most of the conversation, and would nod to Asriel, "If there's any information you can provide us with, that would be very helpful for Mummy, Asriel" She would say, trying to encourage the young monster, hoping it would help him to think and connect dots that he had not before.
The former queen would then narrow her eyes lightly, but only for a second, before they softened as she reached a hand to Asriel's face, running a thumb along the red marks that had appeared on his face once he had gotten the relic that gave him back his body and true form.
"We'll figure this out, you're a very clever boy Asriel" She would add, a warm smile coming to her face as she said it. Was the mystery man the one to give Asriel this pendent? Why? What was their purpose in this situation?
She wanted to find out.

Toriel would remain mostly quiet at first, observing the situation at hand as it all happened before them.
When Papyrus came close, his focus on Asriel and that ear-ringing sound filled the air whilst he did, Toriel naturally as a motherly instinct, hugged Asriel closer, shielding him in her arms, her crimson eyes focused on the tall skeleton in front of her. Although the sound was still blaring and Papyrus' intentions weren't fully clear, she had a feeling in her heart that he would not bring harm to the monster child regardless.
And that was true, as he soon seemed to relax, the sound coming to a stop as his attention went elsewhere.
Toriel of course did not know what was going on in the skeleton's skull, but she knew very well that Asriel was once Flowey, and she knew of the things Flowey had done, even witnessing some herself, and given that Papyrus was Sans' brother, and how Flowey had made Sans do unspeakable things, she could understand.

When the soul took the form of a human though, Toriel had to breathe, she had to take a couple of minutes to herself really, she had never felt such a boiling anger bubbling up so fast, or at least, hadn't in so long.
She would sigh lightly, angrily, clutching onto Asriel for a moment before setting him down, he did not need to be right in the middle of what she was about to do or say afterall.
"All of this, is your fault" Toriel would say boldly, fully facing the King of monsters now, she let nobody stand in between them, as it was not anybody else's fault but his in her mind.
"Are you proud now with your decree, Asgore?" Fire burned in her eyes as she spoke to him, a burning fire to symbolize her burning hatred. "Is this NOT what I warned you of all those years ago! Look at what you have now caused to our home!" She would snap, the booming voice of a queen once was truly showing through.
"There where better ways to go about trying to free our kind from the Underground's barrier, yet you still chose this path, and I do not blame her, I do not blame her soul for what she has now done. I blame YOU" Purple flames began to flicker from her fingertips, her eyes still burnt with hatred and anger, "Are you proud now for endangering the entire underground with your decision?" She would stand up tall, sizing the other goat monster up, he may be taller then her, but he in no way made her feel small. "Some King you turned out to be Asgore. There was a time I truly believed you had a kind, warm and caring soul. But it is clear to me now, more then ever, that you do not deserve the crown you wear upon your head so proudly. Especially not when it is now your actions that are endangering lives. Not just that, but your decree upon which others followed, trusting you to make the right decisions, which now has blame smeared on their name where it does not truly belong" She of course, would be referring to Undyne, she did not believe it to be the Royal Guards fault at all, they where simply doing what their "King" wanted them to do. Following orders of the one who was supposed to be leading them to do the right thing.

Papyrus had done the right thing in trying to talk to the human, but Toriel felt like she had more to add, although she could not hear all of what the skeleton had said, she knew it was all good. "June! I cannot say sorry enough to you to make up for the what has happened to you down here in the Underground, you did not deserve what happened to you, and most certainly did not deserve what came after. The King was wrong to have these things done to you. It is truly unforgivable. But not unfix-able, my dear, my name is Toriel, I was the Former Queen of the Underground and I wish to grant you the chance to try again, I may not be able to return what was taken from you, but I do wish to give you what you deserve. A chance to see your family again, which I know you can achieve at least one more time. They have been searching for you for so long afterall... I am so sorry that you have been taken from them, I understand what it is like to have family taken from you" She would close her eyes before glancing to Asriel. Yes, she knew what it was like...
"Please, come away from the Core and we can work out a different path, together, I will make sure you are safe from the monster who stole you from your family in the first place" She would shoot Asgore a filthy look, utterly disgusted in him at this given point in time. He had family taken from him too, and he was so willing to do it to others knowing the pain it brought. Disgusting.
"I want to make things right for you June, you deserve Justice"
