Lupina also heard the snap. She turned calmly to face the newcomer, while raising her left hand to give a cheerful wave.

It was strange for a monster to be heading out on a night like this, but not unheard of. Usually it was teenagers going out into the forest for various reasons. Still, this was not a face she recognised.

Lupina opened her mouth to also say something, but the glance from Sans made her pause. Usually she would have called out herself, but in this situation, with Sans here, she instead decided to hold back, letting him talk. She closed her mouth, and casually took a step back.

As she was not talking to the young skeleton directly, the dog took a few seconds to look around. Checking for anyone (or anything) else in the area of interest. she wasn't expecting anything, but it was always good practice to keep an eye out.

Lupina's ears perked up as Sans approached. "Hi" She responded, she sounded almost too chipper, but in her case it was entirely genuine. "I have been ready for a while... N-Not that your late or~ well you are maybe a tiny bit late but not super late and I got here early." Lupina spoke in a continuous, but lively, sentence. She only paused when she interrupted herself.

Lupina grinned as she stepped out of the guard post.  The canine did not plan on wasting any time. She always felt more alive and alert at night, and wanted to take full advantage of that fact.

Snowdin / Night-watch
« on: January 21, 2019, 03:14:32 am »
Lupina sat in her sentry-post, just outside town She had arrived slightly early, Not wanting to be late. To say it was a cold night would have been redundant here in Snowdin forest, but it was certainly colder than normal. Lupina shifted her feet uncomfortably, she found herself wishing she had worn thicker boots.

For Lupina the nightwatch (Or Midwatch, as it was referred to officially) was a common assignment. She often ended up patrolling alone, and that suited her. It was quiet. Calm, the cave roof was pretty. She honestly did not understand at all why the other dogs objected to the Midwatch. For tonight though, someone else would be on watch with her, She would be sharing the watch with Sans.

Lupina leaned out the front of the post, looking back into Snowdin itself. Sans had to be on his way by now, and the sooner he got here, the sooner they can go on patrol.

Snowed Inn was easy enough to find. It was decently sized, and almost directly on the main path through the town. Lesser Dog gestured to the building as they appraoched it. "Here it is! Snowed inn. They almost always have rooms here!" Lesser Dog looked back at the Temmie. "So, I guess that's Snowdin. You have seen most of it now. Unless you need anything further I should probably make my way home... I have got things I need to get on with... Well, I'll see you around. If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask!"

Lesser Dog began to walk back through the streets. Leaving Amarillo in front of Snowed inn.

Lesser Dog shook their head. "Not off the top of my head. Though Snowdin is big enough that I don't know everyone and I don't read much"

"I will take this one with me as well. I... probably can't read it! but hey, It has pictures!" Lesser Dog gestured too the badly damaged manual Lesser Dog followed Amarillo to the desk, After asking the librarian, Lesser Dog moved to the door ready to leave the library. "That's was the snowdin Librarby! Its big, and has books! Where to next? ...Assuming your done here of course."

After talking briefly with a couple of the other monsters in the room, Lesser Dog looked at the book Amarillo had shown her.
Tiny.. squiggles? no wait, writing. Lesser Dog squinted, examining, and even trying to read the small print. Before turning the book upside down, and examining the map, before eventually she passed the map and the book back to Amarillo. "I think its a book." Lesser Dog stated. "Though I... I don't see how you can read it. Its writing is small Maybe I'm just bad at reading... and its new." Lesser Dog sniffed the air around where the book came out of the bookshelf. "Smells new to. Not like the other books. Maybe it was written by a really small monster?" Lesser Dog examined the shelf it was on, seeing if the other books near it were similar. "Could always ask at the desk where it came from. It looks monster made given its about the underground. Not that many people write books. I don't think. So finding the writer can't be hard either"

Lesser Dog had already moved over to a bookshelf. She was reading the spines, or... trying to anyway. "Cess furadd anced plyes?" Lesser Dog was reading the spine of an old human manual. Clearly advanced stuff. After pulling it out, she recognized the style of the images on the cover from the books one of her friends in the guard used to read. Advanced human tactics or something. This particular book looked very old and worn, parts of it were completely unreadable. Though that might have just been due to the state of the dump.
She was almost tempted to take this book with her. After all, that's what librarbies books were for right?

She looked back at Amarillo. "Everything OK?" Lesser Dog glanced over at the other Monsters in the room. She felt a slight swell of pride in being recognized as a proud member of the royal guard, even out of uniform. She gave the nearest monster who was looking in her or Amarillo's direction a quick wave. "hi! Do you need something?" She asked. Mostly she just wanted to get the attention off of the Temmie, who she could see was uncomfortable.

"Snowed inn is usually fairly good. There are almost always rooms there." Lesser Dog spoke excitedly. "You should have no problem finding a place there! And the owner is nice! I think you will like it there!"

Despite the Dog's worries, it did not take long to find the Library "Here! The Lib...rarby..."  Lesser Dog gestured to the sign "Guess we were both wrong about the name." Lesser Dog said. Looking back, she noticed how tired the Amarillo looked.  "You Ok there? Do you want me to slow down? Though I guess as we are here now, its not an issue any more." Lesser Dog Approached the door, there were several footprints leading in and out of the Library, the place was open, and seemingly fairly active. "Its funny. I don't think I have been inside here for years. Even longer since I properly tried to read anything longer than a signpost." Lesser Dog glanced back at the Temmie. "So, we are going inside right?"

Lesser Dog gestured vaguely down the street "Inn is that way I think." Lesser Dog pointed in a different direction, this time seemingly at an unrelated building. "Liberry is somewhere in... that way? Past that building I mean... no that... No, I'm sorry!"  Lesser Dog spun round abruptly. "I... I think it's that way! I think that building there lights up at night! So we go past that!" Lesser Dog looked proud for a moment, and then her face dropped "I think that's right anyway. Been a while since I have been to the Liberry. Turns out the place is pretty peaceful.". Lesser Dog looked around, now looking at the street itself, for the first time in a while she took in how different the town looked during the day. The streets had people in them for a start, honestly, the place looked a little strange. "I... I might be less good at this than I thought." For a moment, Lesser Dog looked almost forlorn, A moment later she was back to her eager self again.

"So... First time in Snowdin right? Must be odd. The place takes a bit of getting used to. I think we should go to the Liberry first. unless you want to go sort out a room first." Lesser Dog paused to think. "The Liberry is definitely that way...?" Lesser Dog looked to Amarillo, as if they were asking for confirmation. Before moving ahead of her towards the Library.

"Li-Berry" Lesser Dog said outloud, she seemed momentarily baffled. Then looked up. "Yea! that might be it!"

Lesser Dog looked slightly suprised at Amarillo's question. "Place to stay? Have you tried Snowed Inn? As in Snowed... Inn. Its an Inn here in Snowdin." Lesser Dog explained. "There are other places of course, but snowed inn is the best I know of! I can show you where it is if you want!" Lesser Dog glanced down at her coffee. It was virtually empty already. "Besides, you wanted to see the liberry and other places! I could show you around, I know where things are, I had to learn it all so I know where to go when things happen or go wrong. I know this town better than anyone! I think so anyway. The other dogs might know the town to, but thats because they trained alongside me so you would expe~ I am rambling again aren't I." Lesser Dog drunk the last of her coffee. It was true, she knew the streets of Snowdin pretty well. It was part of her training to know where things were, and how all the little streets interconnected, it was in places a bit of a maze. Its also true that she was suprisingly eager to show her new friend around.

It was probably the coffee talking.

"OH its great!" Lesser Dog said, her tail started to wag. "I mean, Aside from the town there is also the snow, the ice, the trees, they are Covered in snow of course..." Lesser Dog paused for a moment. "I think that's everything! Did I mention the snow? Oh, but that does not mean its dull, You can turn snow into art! And ice into water! And you can climb trees." Lesser Dog seemed to calm down a little as she stopped talking quite as enthusiastically, her tail also slowing. "Well... Its also very cold, and I spend most of my time outside at night in the cold." Lesser Dog Sipped her coffee before continuing, now with renewed enthusiasm. "Enough of that though, Here in Snowdin, we have a liabrabry! Or something like that, its where books are kept! Oh, and then there is Grillbys! and then there is this lovely coffee shop called Expre- Expra-. Wait, we are sitting in it aren't we." Lesser Dog's ears droop slightly. "Sorry, I tend to ramble when given the chance until I forget what we were actually talking about... I am not annoying you am I?"

Lesser Dog was well aware of her tendency to never stop talking once she got started, it was a bad habit, and one she had no luck in breaking. Left to her own devices, she could easily keep talking until evening in one uninterrupted sentence of free-flowing thought. Honestly, she was impressed with herself for stopping this time before it got out of hand.

"Its Coffee" Lesser Dog said happily, sipping from her own cup, "Its always hot when you get it, give it a minute and it will cool down so you can drink."

Lesser Dog always felt a little awkward talking to people she did not know. Still, Amarillo seemed nice enough, and really she was just glad to have some company. She felt like it had been forever since she had a proper conversation.

"I Rarely leave Snowdin. My job being what it is, Its important for me to stay here most of the time. What's it like at Temmie village? "
Lesser Dog Looked over at the Temmie. Eager for a response

Lesser Dog looked up as Amarillo approached. Her ears perked up as the Temmie approached. She smiled, realizing they had come over to talk to her. "HI!" Lesser Dog spoke with far more enthusiasm than you would expect from a simple greeting. "If you want to sit here go ahead, The other dogs In my unit don't sit with me... I don't think they come here at all really... I'm Lesser Dog by the way"

"So, Your new here right? How can I help you! If you need help that is if not... er... How can I not help you?" Lesser Dog paused at the end of the sentence, trying to work out if her own words actually made logical sense.

Lesser dogs Neck extended very slightly as she was petted, her head seemed to go to the side slightly, giving Yanezi plenty of room to pet. As Yanezi asked about the sentry station and the petting stopped, her neck seemed to recede slightly. "It... is fine I think. I managed to piece the bits back together. Though I think the back wall is a bit unstable...". She said, "Might need to bring out a specialist in sentry post design, the damage was pretty bad".

Lesser dog continued to enjoy her coffee. It always amazed her how loud Fia could actually be, constant talking, constant explosions, not in the scary way, she was always cheerful and fun loving when Lesser Dog saw her, but at times, it felt like she was trying desperately to drown out the rest of the world. Which is odd as Lesser dog liked the sounds of the rest of the world, at least mostly, it seemed like an odd thing to try to drown out. Maybe it was not the entire world, just parts of it? That made some amount of sense...
