"Thirteen? Probably a good idea to be more careful on Fridays then." Sans jested, he then chuckled when the blaster licked him before proceeding to pet it briefly, "Good to know bro, I try."
The ever observant skeleton took note of the king suggesting that Papyrus would start rallying the others to leave the chamber safely - Sans paid attention who was leaving and whom was left.

It was strange.

After spending countless timelines as husk of a flower, wanting to see what it looked like when his father was hurt pretty badly - or even killed - now seeing the result it was certainly not a sight Asriel wanted to see. Sure his soul was stitched back together and he had regained a sense of his former self, but it still made the prince feel sick at his core for ever wanting to see such a horrible thing. He had tears swelling up at his eyes upon seeing the king so grievously injured as he was scooped up, "Not as much as you, you helped stop the machine." the younger goat replied. He did feel some relief when the fire elemental tended to the wounds, but he still didn't like what he was seeing, "Are you going to be okay, Dad?"

Undyne, unsurprisingly was staying close to Asgore soon after the mechanical beast had toppled over. She hadn't said anything really on the matter other than expressing an obvious concern until she took note that Zydras had already began the healing process on Asgore. The Captain sighed with relief and was more than happy to assist Asgore with carrying his things, but there were other pressing matter on hand. With a familiar, strict wave she ushered the two guards over, to which they gathered up Asgore's belongings and were there to assist walking him back to the castle if need be.

Just as Toriel hugged her son, Sans who preferred to keep his distance from the prince, spoke up.

"Hey Pap, mind letting me down for a sec?" the elder skeleton requested and soon after felt the harness loosen enough for him to slip off of Toriel's back and land swiftly onto his feet. He slipped his hands into his pockets as he stood near Toriel and Asriel - whom, he kept a very, very close watch on. Especially when he knew just how vulnerable he was right now compared to their prior encounters.

If Asriel really wanted to, this would have been the perfect opportunity to kill Sans.

But such action never came to pass.

Once Asriel was set down he stood in front of the skeleton; the two sharing an uncomfortable silence as they stared at each other.
At Toriel's question, her son replied, "Y-yeah, I think so..."
To the former queen's other question, Sans also replied, "...We're cool Tori."

The question was, did they mean it?

Undyne cast one last glance at Papyrus as he opted to stay behind with the machine - or at least, to be the last one the leave the chamber before nodding once and marched on out of the chamber. She didn't lose sight of the monsters and encouraged for them to stick together and leave together safely as a group - as well as to not leave Papyrus on his own so that they could take care of one more matter on their hands - regarding the humans.

If of course, there were monsters whom had no interest in what was to happen next, she would not stop anyone whom would prefer to leave to go home - or where ever else they wanted to - instead.

Sans, while still near the others, had moved a little closer to the exit's archway and kept a concerned and watchful eye on his brother.

J.O.H.N. struggled against its restraints that Gust had so tightly and efficiently woven around it, finding it impossible to be freed of its bindings. Having the oil and other fluids extracted from by the sodashark only caused for the machine to quickly overheat and find its flamethrowers utterly useless. Soon the ground gave way beneath the mechanical bull as Papyrus' blasters drove it deeper into the earth.
[Negative. Feeling pain is counter productive.] it responded coherently.

It then went silent the further it was driven down and closer to the lava below. Did it feel? Is Artificial Life considered to be living or is it simply simulating life?

The bull went noticeably still as it was left on a small island of rock around lava, not daring to move as if for fear of toppling into it. Sure running out of batteries was one thing, but having its electronic innards destroyed was another. Several warnings flashed and blared about temperatures reaching critical levels for the machine already.

Soon enough, after those agonizing moments the once-walking weapons dispenser exploded not only from the flammable liquids it carried, but also the amount of gun powder and numerous other flammable substances it contained within; sending an impressive display of of fire, colours and smoke all around the immediate area. Nothing could be scavenged from the remains of J.O.H.N.

Upon reuniting with the group, Sans opted to stand near his brother.

The now-mehcanical avian brother tilted his head towards June and chuckled, "Ah guess yer right. Ah been runnin' all over hell's half acre from all o' this." he then paused, "Another one besides Pete..."
The robot body sank a little lower on June's shoulder, "Whelp, at least you were able to make yerself some friends at least. Keep 'em company too. You've always found a way fer people to keep on goin', so ah reckon you woulda helped yer friend with that too."

He then went silent as the king of monsters approached June, choosing not to say anything to interrupt their conversation. The chest cavity of the avian machine seemed to inflate slightly, as if simulating to take in a breath at the thought of June possibly staying. He took a moment to look around as she gestured to the others, "Ah understand what you mean now. Ah should have shown some restraint rather than reacted so impulsively... ah just couldn't believe it. Ah always knew that ah would find you... ah just didn't expect to have found you like this."
He then looked to his sister, after nodding at what Papyrus had said to him, "Ah can't really tell you what you wanna do o' course, but ah know ah can't stay. Ah have to get back to my body - copy or naw - ah gotta be sure and make sure that the rest o' our family ain't sufferin' the loss of two Callahans. Dang... ah hope things haven't gone too bad since ah left with J.OH.N."

As if on cue to the skeleton's question regarding the restoration of some of the missing monsters' powers, a second explosion sounded back in the other chamber; somehow managed to be delayed and that familiar pulse sweapt through the Underground for the last time. This time, however, was different, instead of draining the magic of monsters it gave that same uplifting, empowering feeling they had once felt when a long distance away.

In an instant, every monster whom were robbed of their magic suddenly felt energized and regained that feeling of feeling whole again. Greyed out eyes were no more and were filled with the vibrant colours they once were. The repelling fields around said monsters were lifted.
Sans' left eye started glowing its bright, healthy cyan hue once again and the skeleton instantly seemed to have stood taller where he was once he was one with his magic once again. The Sentry instantly raised his hands from his pockets and started chuckling gleefully as bones and blasters by the dozens were summoned and sent flying towards the ceiling as a quick test-drive of his magic once again. He was, however, hesitant on testing out his Shortcuts though, feeling that it may be too soon to resume that once more.

"Does that answer yer question?" Austin asked with a chuckle, "If J.O.H.N. was destroyed completely or when the correct commands are given, it has the capability of reversin' the effects. Should there have been a chase where neither was possible, their magic would have returned to them over time. It was never permanent. Never, uh, figured out how to do that yet."

Undyne turned to look at Papyrus with a long, hard gaze as he assured her; taking a moment to glance at Lily when he mentioned her before looking back at him.
"Alright, I trust you. Thanks." she answered. Papyrus would notice a significant amount of resistance drop from being healed by the skeleton; however there still was still a lingering, light resistance which still remained. It didn't hinder his ability to heal at all, just required a small amount of extra effort into doing so. The minute resistance, is likely linked to the warrior's stubbornness and tenacity.

Her attention was brought back to him a short time later when he addressed her name and she nodded, "So the more conjurations of different signatures we have on the field the better. Thanks again." the Captain replied before showing a thumbs up towards Sans' direction. Soon after several dozen spears were summoned in the air above them and they were soon sent flying in circles around and above the mechanical beast; whilst also keeping a safe distance from friendlies.

Soon after Undyne found herself entangled by the bull's grappling hook and was fighting the pull with her green magic. She too noticed the familiar grip upon her soul, immediately deducing it to belong to Papyrus seeing as Sans was currently out of action. For a moment she too found the combined forces of magic seemed complimentary for the mean time, but said thoughts were pushed aside just as J.O.H.N. had charged and pinned Undyne down and caused for further harm.

The blaster summoned to gnaw at the cable was successful in snapping it after several bites and pulls whilst Undyne braced herself by summoning a spear to bite into with her teeth at the skeleton's mildly apologetic warning. She muffled a pained groan by clenching her teeth and lips together against the weapon as she felt the fractures and broken bones in her feet were being set and realigned with Papyrus' blue magic. She sighed out with relief as the healing magic filled her body, already making most of the pain go away and for the broken and fractured bones to heal. With the more grievous injuries healed first, Undyne and Papyrus would probably hear a popping and creaking sound of sorts as her dislocated left hip was pushed back into place and her left knee rolled back into its proper position after being dislocated and offset at an almost ninety degree angle to the side.

Once promptly having her lower half healed, Undyne felt the bed of bones being summoned beneath her, the blaster's familiar cry which bellowed its shining beam through the dirt beneath did startle the fish monster just before she was pulled from underneath J.O.H.N., causing for the mechanical marvel's head to plunge deeper into the earth whilst the rest of its body didn't shift positions much at all. After taking in several breaths, and whilst probably recommended by most healers that one should rest after just being healed, Undyne rolled onto her front and gradually and steadily made it back up onto her feet. Her legs quivered for a moment as it readjusted to the change of centre of gravity and minor after effects from healing, she grinned and slapped a grateful hand to Papyrus' shoulder with a mild shake as a sign of yet another 'thank you', but this time opting to show it rather than say it.

-----

Sans chuckled at his brother's comments about the canine guards, "That's quite the name. I might end up calling it Fal." he jested before raising a curious eye ridge, "Pack? How many are there? They're house broken right?"
His smile grew nervous about Papyrus' acknowledgement of being a favorable target, but he did make an a soft, amused noise at the commented about dodging, "Whelp, glad to hear it'll be useful."

-----

Austin heard the question being called out to him, "In theory, naw it shouldn't. Ah'm not a hundred percent sure on the count ah haven't really tested it since before ah transferred - or copied, ah still ain't sure on that either - my mind ter this here machine..." he paused as he thought over it carefully, clearly not wanting to make a mistake and certainly had that primal instinct to simply live, "Naw, ah should be okay."

A soft chuckle rumbled from Austin at June's confirmation, "Yeah, yer right. Never change sis... 'n' that's fair enough. Let's get the heck outta here!" If he could smile, he would have been now, delighted in seeing his sister still looking up to him so highly with that heart comment; if he could hug her, he certainly wouldn't hesitate to do so.

[Extraordinary Mystical Shield: 73%]

At the realization that its target was no longer pinned down and upon recognizing the group plotting against it, the A.I. instinctively dropped its weight onto June, only to find it was still being held up by those shields she had summoned during its attempt to prevent Austin being taken out. The shields seemed to have been able to hold the machine's titanic weight, but probably for not much longer than the time June needed to extract her brother if the screeches of protest from the shields were any indication. Did it know June was under there? It was hard to say, even for Austin.

Finally the newly-Justice-filled-Asfaloth rammed into J.OH.N., sending a spectrum of artificial cries and error notification sounds to blare from it. It was pushed to the side slightly, but more importantly, the majority of the damage done was to the E.M. Shield.

[Extraordinary Mystical Shield: 13%]

Feeling disorientated from the clash and the number of magical signatures of numerous conjurations currently present, the bull made another attempt to crush the shield which protected June as she began the extraction of her brother. However, before it could proceed to do so, fifteen E.D. units flocked up to it and obscured its vision by hovering noisily about and even pecking at the spotlight in futile attempt to break it just to name one of the few, various things they did to comply with June's command. In response J.O.H.N. bucked its head to try and scatter its avian brethren; utterly distracted.

The two E.D. units were successful in efficiently extracting Austin from the machine; it was rather efficiently compact with a dedicated, tiny speaker attached to it so the others can still hear Austin whenever he chose to speak. In the process of taking Austin out, one of the avian units also pulled out some extra wires, chips and other small parts found in the cavity and handed it over to the last E.D. unit just before it took off to find a monster to upgrade it. These extra parts may, or may not be found useful in aiding the upgrade along side with the extra parts June had of her own.

"... Thanks Junie."

The comments and cries from the king were attentively taken note of by Undyne, as she always did whenever Asgore had even but a mere whisper to say. Now, however, didn't seem like the appropriate time to make further comments on it.

----

Asgore had reached the robot just in time, a mere second before the gun was fired, the trident wrenched the gun skyward and the ammunition was launched towards the ceiling; missing anyone in the chamber entirely. From the force of the sudden spearing of the trident, Asgore was successful in bending the metal of the weapon upward so it can no longer be used to fire more projectiles or even slip back into the panel it poked out from. Any buzzsaws J.O.H.N. decided to use clashed against the trident in failed attempt to strike the king.

Metal yowled in protest as the bull staggered from the force of being pushed aside by Asgore, for the monster's height and weight added to the others attacking it, it stumbled over its feet shortly after Austin was removed; and the anti-magic shield was also affected.

Upon hearing the gem beast Undyne sighed irritably, pinching the scaly skin between her eyes as she reeled in the influx of a temper she had felt rise into a more controlled, firm tone, "What does it look like we're doing? If you're not going to do anything more maybe start gathering up the other monsters whom aren't fighting the beast and start getting out of here. We're leaving as soon as this is taken care of anyway."

Upon hearing the request Sans merely shrugged in the affirmative and loosely tossed the screwdriver into Zydras' hand in an arched formation so it could be easily caught.

When he came back to return the screwdriver, Sans accepted it, "Not a problem dude," he replied, keeping his gaze at eye level. The skeleton wondered what had happened to his clothes, did they get lost or was he parading around in his birthday suit on purpose? Such thoughts were quickly dismissed as he returned his attention to the task at hand.

-----

Shortly after Zydras had tinkered with the E.D. unit and the avian had powered back up and returned to June, the yellow lights in its eyes turned purple just it had leapt onto the human's shoulder. The bird looked about, its movements were organic and fluid and soon a soft chuckle whispered from a crackly speaker, "Ah gotta admit, this here robot-jumpin' is purdy weird. Ah feel as lost as last year's Easter Egg. Ah'm might impressed though."

Hearing Toriel giggle and seeing her blush has got to be, in Sans' opinion, one of the prettiest sights he had ever seen. Her giggles were rather contagious as the skeleton joined in with chuckles of his own; getting a little side-tracked from the situation at hand.
"That's really sweet of of you to say Tori. Although. I don't have a heart, so will you be mine instead?" he asked as he cheekily raised his eye-ridges a few times soon after.

His attention was then brought back to the Core, allowing for Sans to ponder a bit longer, "As of now, probably not, but I'm pretty certain that powering it back up might help lower he rising lava. Or at the very least, prevent it from overflowing beyond the chamber."

He then gave a double-thumbs-up after Toriel had summoned the clusters of flickering flames around the bull; watching it struggle further against the waves of monsters - and human - fighting against it. Some of Toriel's flames danced against the magic shield and a loud, artificial bang indicated that something just went wrong with J.O.H.N.

[Battery: 27%]
[Warning. Extraordinary Mystical Shield has been depleted.]

At the alarm the bull panicked, but also in the masses of magical signatures around it, it was not able to lock onto the nearest monster properly to attack - even one as close as Asgore. Several guns were pulled out in response to the depletion of the shield, firing them wildly around it. Maybe some bullets had managed to hit some monsters, or maybe it didn't; whatever the result, it was by sheer luck - or unluckiness. Another shove from June's steed and Asgore was enough to send the bull topping over, not only to its side, but it also fell into the pitfall which was created earlier. J.O.H.N. crashed onto its back deep within the pit; its legs flailing wildly as it struggled to get back onto its feet. From the looks of it, the sheer size, weight ad design of it might prove impossible for it to do alone.

The electrical surge, which shot from the Core to the charging robot, was strong enough to for Austin to shake and twitch violently, temporarily stopping him in his tracks. The spotlight dimmed for a moment, creating an opportune moment for Sakura to sink her sword deep into one of his front legs and hindered some movement of the juggernaut. She would find that the blade was lodged so deeply into the mechanical limb that it will prove very difficult to remove on her own.

Another head twitch and several sparks later.

“Uuhhh… what in Tarnation was that?” Austin groaned as his head was raised again and the spotlight lit up bright once more.
[Greetings Austin. Welcome back. A power surge has been detected. Your user data was almost deleted. I was able to prevent that from happening.]
There was a noticeable pause in the bull’s movements when Austin realized that he had just had a close stroke with death before the machine spun around suddenly and yanked off the attached wires from the Core.
[Battery Level: 89%]
“Should be enough… just gotta be smart about management…” Austin muttered, the spotlight flickered, making the bull look as thought it had just blinked, “Wait a second, J.O.H.N.  ah don’t remember programin’ yer A.I. to be this responsive.”

“Huh. Ah really did go all out didn’t ah?” he hummed to himself, it was amazing what one person could accomplish if they were dedicated and persevered enough; even if it came to a point of an obsession.

Both the robot and Austin soon became very aware of the damage caused by the kitsune, raising the leg for a quick assessment before resuming their charge towards the Captain; guns blazing. June’s conjured barrier and Papyrus’ Gaster Blaster managed to prevent any bullets hitting Undyne, Papyrus or anyone else whom would have decided to get any closer to where the blue monster was.

The music playing briefly caught Austin's attention, tilting the red spotlight towards Gust and Cherry as he continued stampeding forward, "Y'all are confused. Ah ain't the animal here." he called out to the pair before a panel on the side closest to them opened up and a uniquely shaped gun poked out and fired. The projectile that was launched was no bullet nor lethal by any means, for it soon stretched out to be a long rope with weights at either end. It then managed to catch both Gust and Cherry in the one sweep, spinning and wrapping around them as they faced front-to-front. The grip was firm, for it wrapped around most of their bodies - mostly around the middle section - but it wasn't impossible to get out of.

Hearing June's assertions did manage to slow down Austin for a moment, while his weapons were still hot and trained on Undyne his red spotlight did drift over towards his sister, "They betrayed you and murdered you. You even said so yourself, they’re trash. They’re fake. They’re pure evil. Nothin’ more." he barked back earnestly. However, that exclamation about being a machine without any of the eldest brother’s heart seemed to have really gotten to Austin; if the sudden skid to a stop was of any indication.
“N-no, that would never happen…” he muttered, “This is just temporary. ‘Til ah get back to my body. It's still me.”
[Caution. The Directive will be hindered if you continue to dwell on this and not take action, Austin.]
“They cry, laugh, bicker and love huh…” Austin muttered, ignoring the robot’s report, “J.O.H.N. have any more audio logs been recovered?”
[Affirmative.]
“Can any of these recovered files back up what Junie said?”
[…]
“J.O.H.N.”
[That would not be beneficial for the Directive.]
The bull shook it’s head and chuffed out some steam from its nostrils as some resistance from the A.I. protested; it was simply following it’s programming.
“Dang it J.O.H.N. play all the damn clips!”

"You jerk... you said you wouldn’t leave me behind again…"
"Cherry..I.."
"What about your dreams?"
"........"
"Catching up to your dad.. Going faster then light.."
"....."
"Was simply being first more important then those things? ... Was it more important then your promise?"
"Cherry please! I…"
"Well. Then congratulations. You got here first and lost more then just the speed that got you here in the first place.."

[When you’re afraid, it’s easy to hurt the thing that you fear. It takes a very brave person to show love instead… I would soon learn that a human had fallen down into the Underground and had killed every monster they had come across along the way until meeting my Mum on her way home with groceries and my older brother. She’d tried to talk to them, show them the same kindness she’d always showed everyone. But they didn’t listen… My point in all of this meandering is that I have every reason to hate humanity. One took my mother’s life. The actions of a handful resulted in the experiments that cost my father his. That result cascaded into my brother losing so much of himself in the guilt and grief that followed... I know of no monster that would blame me, and perhaps even some of humanity might feel the same. But… if I allowed that fear to take root and guide my actions, if I let it fester into hatred and escalate into violence, I would be no better than the ones who took all that I held dear from me.]

[File 560345.wav; partially recovered.]
[Do you remember… when we lost Asriel. Our Son, Asgore. He was trying to do the right thing. To help. I don't know how many days I spent waiting, even though I knew, I still waited, because he meant the world to me, as children do to their parents. We wanted him back so badly, he hadn't done anything wrong, he just tried to do the right thing. Why Asriel.. Why our little boy?]

“Well butter my butt and call me a biscuit.” he breathed, pausing again to look around at the monsters around them. The weapons he had poking out were pulled back into the bull; tucked away until the only visible weapons were the two, deactivated Rail Guns on their back. The red spotlight shifted to a pale blue the more he let what he had just heard sink in; including the comment about his choice in targeting Sans being regarded as n execution.
[Austin, we must not forget about the Directive. There are currently two objectives in order to complete it.]
“Just gimme a mo’ J.O.H.N.”
[Warning. Hostiles incoming.]
“Hostiles?”
he questioned, looking up with surprise. While Austin had been distracted and deep in thought,  it created a window of opportunity for the group’s plan.

When the vines shot up from the group, Lily was successful in immobilizing the mechanical beast as she pulled him ever closer to the trap. Generva’s summoning of blades didn’t go unnoticed either. The bull pulled and bucked, but as the more vines intertwined around the legs the more difficult that proved to be – especially given just how heavy the mechanical beast was. The first canister Lightning Sakura had attempted to slice in half would find that upon contact it blasted back that surge of electricity back at her; leaving it relatively unharmed and it’s surface barely touched by the blade.

Asgore’s proclamations caught both of the attentions of Austin and J.O.H.N, the duo falling silent as they listened to the king.
[The Directive is still priority.] J.O.H.N. reminded Austin, [This objective has now been labeled as more critically important over the other.]

A pair of silvery-white, rectangular objects flickered between Asriel’s hands for a brief moment before it disappeared again.

“Ah understand J.O.H.N. no need ter keep pressin’ on that.” Austin muttered before looking back to the king of monsters and raising his voice.

“Alright, ah accept yer terms – except if you do win ah still get to leave with Junie regardless-”
‘Unless o' course, she’s become some sort of nutter 'n' wants to stay.’
“-Ah see now that I had been actin’ far too impulsively. Ah really wish ah could say sorry about that, but in truth, given what has happened to my sister, it ain’t enough and ah ain’t sorry.”
One panel at either side of the bull expanded and a flexible arm ending with with a row of three buzz saws slipped out. They roared to life as they sliced the vines clean off and freed the beast before he could fall into the trap. At least, not yet.

The bull prodded and dug up the ground repeatedly with its good, front leg and bucked its head frequently as more steam escaped, “Challenge accepted. Somethin’ ah gotta do anyways, only this time ah ain’t bein’ irrational ‘bout things.”
Austin charged, head lowered in attempt to gore at the king when he got close enough before following up with a couple of swings at the king with the nearest buzz saw. Hiss’ and Haruno’s landing on the bull seemed to go unnoticed, for now. The bucking and moving around she had felt would have been from his movements.

[…Just like that, someone that I saw myself in, someone I confided in, someone I trusted, someone that understood me, someone that was proof Monsters weren’ all bad… Just… Betrayed me. Proving absolutely goddam squat.]

[So tell me again, when a person seeks to be the hope of their people, but then steals the hope from others, what are they? They’re trash. They’re fake. They’re pure evil. Nothin’ more.]

“Heavens to Betsy…” Austin uttered weakly; shortly after hearing the conclusion of the audio log. The fighting words of his sister clearly had a lasting impact on the now-sentient bull; causing for the cogs to turn and steam being ejected from his nostrils as he allowed for what he had heard to sink in.

Seeing as it was just a recording of June retelling her tale of what happened to her, he didn’t get to witness the vision the human soul had projected her last moments; but she also didn’t need to. Soon after the bull’s spotlight wondered about the different members of the group, seeing as all but the king was dressed in formal attire, he wasn’t sure who was whom from his sister’s story.  When the spotlight lingered on the king, Austin’s new ‘eye’ burned red.
“So yer one of ‘em. I'll remember you.” he growled as his spotlight kept searching.

After a minute of falling silent the machine sighed a synthetic ambience before a panel on it’s back flipped open and a rounded, medium-sized canon poked out, pouting up at the ceiling at a forty-five degree angle. It soon fired a series of fist-size projectiles at a rapid rate, to which they attached themselves along the edges of the chamber and once the circle was complete, the canon disappeared back into it’s slot and a low humming bounced off of the walls. Possibly due to whatever-those-thing-were, being activated or communicating with each other. Monsters with extraordinary senses, powers or by any means otherwise, will notice that their senses have been limited to not beyond the chamber they were in.

Upon hearing June’s warning he quickly replied with a , “You got it.” But soon found his attempt to jump them all out of there failed.
“Uh, guys.” Sans whispered as his lights flickered upward warily, “I’m not sure if I can shortcut anyone out of here.”

While still beside Papyrus, and not making any sudden moves, the skeleton slowly reached for Toriel’s hand and held it tight, hoping to give a reassuring squeeze.

“Ah’m sorry Junie, can’t allow you to do that.” her brother sighed regrettably and apologetically when she gave out the commands to the E.D.s, “Ah know you love yer critters but sometimes y’all gotta put down the dangerous ones.”

More steam was ejected from the bull’s nostrils, “Alright, listen up y’all, none-o-ya are goin’ anywhere ‘til this here injustice gets resolved, ya hear!” he boomed as his front hoof repeatedly dug at the ground beneath him, “Now, by the sounds of it, at least one o’ ya’ll gotta be sentient. So that’s good, means ah won’t be wastin’ my breath, maybe. Ah ain’t supposed ter be conscious in this here machine unless somethin’ went really wrong. So let’s see… J.O.H.N. run a diagnostics scan on what happened to ya…”

The rest of the audio was a recording of the song Gust had been playing and singing to, completely overlapping any conversations held between monsters until the cheetah monster had turned his player off; to which the audio file also stopped playing.

Immediately the red spotlight fell upon Sans with both rail guns pointed a him. More steam was exhaled.

“Woah, there buddy.” Sans quickly commented gently, before raising both hands  out in front of him, his fingers brushed briefly across Papyrus’ back as a subtle indication of which direction he was going to move.  So, then with his hands held out in front of him Sans slid across to the left side of the group, paying careful attention to make sure that no one was behind him. His left eye socket lit up a bright cyan, building up a burst of magic in anticipation. His left fingers curled in the air slightly and he was standing in somewhat of a half-squat and on the balls of his feet; ready to move if it was needed.

“C’mon now. See, we’re not going anywhere. We can talk about this and resolve it, right? No need for that.”

His eyes flickered up to the Core, already seeing parts of it shutting down layer by layer. Sans’ eye socket burned brighter as he in kind built up more magic with hopes of being able to dodge in time.

A bright light started to build up at the mouth of the Nullifying Rail Gun..

“Yer responsible for what happened to J.O.H.N.” Austin growled, “If ah didn’t go the extra mile J.O.H.N. woulda’ been stuck down here and June wouldn’t have been able to go home. Yer just as bad as the rest o’ them.”

[Initiating launch.]

That was just the moment’s notice Sans needed just as the Nullifying Rail Gun fired Sans had taken his brother with him as they disappeared through one of his shortcuts and reappeared several feet away from where they were standing; away from the group. His left eye socket was still flickering a bright cyan hue as he watched the beam of bright light shot past the group and Austin turned to look at the new location of the skeletons. Probably with surprise?
“So. We got here a slippery one. No matter, it won’t make a difference.”

Sans sighed after seeing that the beam had struck no one and he took a few more steps to the side away from the group. Watching another exhale of steam to fizzle out.
“Hey.” he called out to the bull, grin widening, “What did the steam say to the robot?”
The red spotlight remained on Sans, “He ain’t serious…”
Sans waited enough for a dramatic pause to take its full effect before clicking his fingers and pointed both indexes at Austin, “Hey buddy, ya 'mist'.”
The robot in question didn’t seem to respond to the humor, instead cogs kept turning within as he watched Sans.

The elder skeleton’s grin lessened as he can just come to two realizations – and it wasn’t relating to the joke either. One being, that the E.M.N. beam hadn’t detonated and second, the lack of any sounds to indicate that the beam had collided with something – such as a wall. He dared to turn around.

What could be seen is that the beam of white light had slowed down to a speed which could be manageable to track with the naked eye of anyone’s. Not only that, the beam had changed direction and travelled up the wall, arched it’s way back before it set off a few sonic booms to exponentially increase its speed as it hurdled down towards Sans.

With just enough moments to spare, Sans was able to leap to the side just as the beam shot past him; separating him from Papyrus. The beam, once again slowed down before taking a number of erratic turns in the air before redirecting itself back to Sans once again. The skeleton vanished into one of his shortcuts once again, the beam ricochet several times around the chamber until Sans reappeared on one of the upper levels of the chamber. The beam instantaneously shot upwards, increasing its speed as soon as it was on the straight.

“You can keep runnin’ as much as you want, but soon enough you’ll be worn slap out. Machines, however, don’t.”

The Sentry once again disappeared through a shortcut and summoned a small platform of bones on the opposite chamber wall, to which he landed on. Sweat started to pour from his skull as he watched very carefully as the beam of light arched its way back to him. Following after two walls of bones – one white and one blue - were shot out from the ceiling, just wide enough to encompass the width of the beam. Much to his dismay, the magically summoned bones were no match as the beam bulldozed through them; shattering bones by blasting holes through them. Next, Sans summoned more bones from the ceiling, only instead of serving the purpose of walls, he punched through boulders; carefully timing them to collide with the beam, only for it to change direction around each of them before firing straight at him.

Undyne shook her head in disbelief and marched forward, “Call off the attack!” she demanded.

Sans reappeared on another higher part of the chamber, opposite to where he was; keeping a safe distance from the group.

Receiving no acknowledgement from the robot Undyne took another step forward, past June, “I said, call off the attack!”

This time he summoned a long line of Blasters facing each other, all primed. As the beam of light flew between the Blasters, said skulls primed their attacks and fired. Only for their beams to be deflected; some burning through the walls, some destroying other Blasters whilst others simply fizzled out on contact.

Sans then vanished and reappeared a shirt distance away from Austin.  He was hunched over, breathing laboriously for the constant use of his magic to dodge was starting to take a toll on him. He didn’t dare look at any of his allies.
“Ugh… that being said…” he huffed, keeping a look out for the incoming beam, “You, uh, really like steering that thing around huh…  listen, friendship… it’s really great, right? How about it?”

Sans was asking to be spared.

Austin didn’t reply to Sans and the skeleton vanished just before the beam shot through just where he was standing previously before arching up and towards the ceiling again. The ground shook as the mechanical bull lowered it’s head slightly just as the Core had shut down temporarily. The Core shoot violently as the temperature sky rocketed, various sections going critical and the lava started to rise slowly whatever was left in its reserves was being forced down to the robot attached to it.

“Huh. That’s interesting. Looks like I still got enough juice for one more shot. Good work Junie, J.O.H.N. has been hooked up long enough for this.”

[Electromagnetic Rail Gun Primed.]
[…]
[Predicting coordinates.]

When the second, lethal Rail Gun pointed upwards and redirected it’s canon to face a specific, upper, left-hand corner of the chamber. With a gasp Undyne took off, charging towards the bull.
“NO! CALL OFF THE ATTACK!”

Sans repeatedly vanished and reappeared at various parts of the upper levels of the chamber, trying to keep a safe distance from the others, but the more he kept short-cutting, the sloppier he got with each movement. The beam continued to take sharp, erratic turns, eventually herding the skeleton to the corner.

“An eye for an eye.”

[Target locked.]

The Sentry then came into view, unawares; resting on the ledge J.O.H.N. had predicted where he would land. The Electromagnetic Rail Gun yowled out a cry as it quickly charged up it’s blast.

“GNNAAAAAA!” a mighty cry boomed as the blue monster leapt from her feet and grasped onto the bull’s horns and jerked it violently to the side, just as the rail gun fired.

“Argk!”

Sans just about leapt out of his dress shoes when the projectile from the lethal rail gun shot right in front of him; just barely scraping past him  and slammed into the wall beside the skeleton. In a brief moment of horror and odd fascination, Sans stared at  the freshly made hole beside him – which, from the looks of it, just kept going deeper and deeper into darkness.

[Target missed.]

[…]

[Target within range. Commence EMN Detonation.]

Sans’ lights wen out at the realization and as a last stretched attempt, four blasters were sent flying his way with their jaws open just before the blast.  An explosion of bright light erupted from the higher level and shimmering sparkles rained from above; sending that blast of a pulse the monsters had grown familiar with. Being so close each and every one of them, for a fleeting few seconds, felt completely displaced; similarly to a feeling of losing the sense of touch, blindness and deafness all at once.

One by one the bones in the ceiling and the Blasters in the sky fell like rain. The lights of the Blaster Skulls faded as they all hit the ground surrounding the group of monsters – one of which was sent falling on top of them – whilst others fell and dissolved in the pools of lava.

Once the light cleared from the pulse, another bulge fell from the sky; from the looks of it was the four Blasters stacked and over biting each other. Their skulls with **** and with a gaping hole near the centre. The Blaster Ball came crashing down to the ground, topping and turning as it threatened to fall off the edge if no one reacted quickly enough.

Undyne fell to the ground in an heavy heap.  She couldn’t hear anything beyond a loud, high-pitched ringing in her ears. Her vision blurry and she felt numb all over. The fish monster coughed, watching a plume of dust escape her lips and after blinking a few times she realized she felt a thin layer of dust covering her as well.

Groaning, Undyne rolled over and tried to get back up, but only fell face-first back down again from such a simple attempt. An irritable growl rattled out as she used her left hand to push herself back up. With a shake of her head she shook off more of that dust which had fallen onto her. It was then an overwhelming ripple of pain shot throughout her right shoulder, catching her off-guard, she let out a sharp scream of agony before biting down on her lower lip to muffle her cries of woe.

It was then she realized that her right arm was completely gone.

With another grunt she quickly reached for the end of her dress and ripped the hem of her cocktail dress off and with some rough coordination between her left hand and teeth, she tied and wrapped it around her wound to help reduce the flow of dust bleeding out.

Austin seemed to struggle with the mechanical body, particularly when his neck started to spark. Undyne might have managed to break something from that sudden, violent reaction. That and, after firing two rail guns it was started to shut down and needed a manual reboot. Still, determined as ever, Austin managed to keep it going a little longer, manually moving each part like a puppet as he then marched towards the group again.

“HEY!” she bellowed, rolling to her feet, “GET BACK HERE!”
“Which one o’ you varmints is this turncoat Captain?!”
Undyne cast one hopeful glance at the group of monsters, while not all of them show initiative, she still had hopes that they would know what to do and to do the right thing. Together.

The fish monsters then sprinted, running in front of the bull and skidding off to the side. Any monster in the group with combat experience, or even just common sense really, could tell that she was trying to redirect the walking gun dispenser’s attention away from the group. So that they could have an opening of some kind – to do something, anything that required attending to in this situation.
“HEY JACKASS!” she bellowed before crossing her left fist over her chest in what appeared to be a more of a military, one-arm salute, “I am Undyne, Captain of the Royal Guard. I murdered June.”

That got his attention.

Even with the bull’s red headlight pointing squarely at Undyne, horns lowered and head bucking aggressively with other weapons besides the railguns drawn and pointed. Even so, Undyne stood tall in her salute when facing the behemoth.

Austin continued to lumber forward, the ground trembled with every step. As time went on he struggled to puppet the machine, but the unseen fury behind that spotlight. Whilst he may be vengeful, he wasn’t impossible.
“ Ah wonder.” Austin seethed, as steam was aggressively ejected from his nostrils, “Is all that talk mimicry? Or can you understand me, monster?”

Undyne’s steely expression sharpened, “Allow me to make myself perfectly clear.” she responded, coiling her hand into a fist. A bright green glow shone from June’s centre, halting her where she stood. There was firmness to that touch, but in no means harmful or forced – as it usually tended to be, “I AM UNDYNE! CAPTAIN OF THE ROYAL GUARD! I MURDERED YOUR SISTER!”
Immediately afterwards she released June, the green glow faded away just as quickly as it had appeared.

Without a doubt, the bull charged forward, steam continuously huffing out, multiple guns out and firing at a rapid rate towards the Captain.

There was a lengthy pause from J.O.H.N. ever since the last audio clip it played; allowing for plenty of time for monsters and June to talk and for the human soul to make her way towards the group. It seemed as though it were struggling to continue to process some of the data or it held within, but it was still able to respond to her commands instantaneously; dispersing all of the required weapon canisters - which she had no short supply of now.

Then, just as June made her way to the group, the mechanical bull looked up and the speakers projected a few more audio logs.
[February thirteenth.] There was a lengthy pause, only ambient noise could be heard playing through the speakers before Austin's voice was heard. He sounded grave and tired, [Four years now. Four years. Ah miss you Junie. The others... ah can't believe that some o' them give up so easily. Ya can't be gone... ya just can't... still, if yer hearin' this Junie, at least you know that ah haven't given up yet. Heh, and don't go thinkin' that ah slacked off or nothin' since you went missin' neither. Ah'm sorry it took me so bloody long, but ah finished it. Ah finished makin' J.O.H.N.]

[February sixteenth.] [Hey there. So. Ah came across somthin' interestin' today. See, my second youngest brother, Felix, brought me somethin' to look at. He is a real adventurer that one. Loves nature, explorin' and discoverin' new things - I think he got along with Junie the most. Always runnin' off doin' all sorts of darin'-dos off o' the property. Any who, today he brought home somethin' he found up at cave or somethin'. Ah dunno. They were papers with some really old scriptures on 'em, like they were from some sort of ancient civilization or somethin'. Weird right? Seemed just like a hangin' outta biscuit. Was surprisingly easy to interpret what was on it, especially since the structure and layout of it wasn't a part o' somethin' I recognized from the history classes ah took back when ah used to go to school like ah think ah graduated high school eighteen years ago? Tha's not important - and ah'm kinda ramblin'. Point is, Felix found somethin' that not only happened to describe this here stone ah found, but somethin' we thought were only just legends. Monsters.]

[Now. Ah spent some time lookin' it over 'n' ah gotta say, ah dunno how much o' this ah believe. Like, ah get this here ain't no fake, but really? Monsters? Alotta them? Locked away beneath some mountain. Even if that were true, wouldn't all o' them be dead by now? Weren't they just thrown down some hole and never see the light o' day again? Ah just don't see how they could still be alive. Unless o' course there was some water 'n' vegetation down there 'n' they just adapted to a new ecosystem. Probably hunted each other down or somethin' to survive.] His tone then changed to a thoughtful one with no trace of malice behind it, [Couldn't help but wonder tho, if they were real, what would they be like? Would they be sentient or naw? Surely naw? What can they do? How many kinds of them are there? Ah wonder... if we had one, how long it would take to break 'em to make 'em useful on the ranch? Might be similar to breakin' a wild horse? Would it take longer? Surely tamin' one would make 'em safer around humans? Would be quite the discovery ah tell you what. It would be just so interestin' to study 'em alone.]

[February twenty-seventh] [So ah just finished some last tweakin' on J.O.H.N. here.] A nervous chuckle rang through the speakers.  [Ah gotta say, my folks are sayin' that my cornbread ain't done in the middle for what ah'm about to do. Kinda nervous really, but it's really the only way ah can be sure that J.O.H.N. gets the assistance it needs in case it breaks down somewhere too far or hard to reach for me to get to and fix it. So, ever hear people talk about the mind, body 'n' soul? Ah'm, uh, about to leave two of those behind. Ah don't know if it'll end up copyin' or transferrin' my mind to the machine... at least, not until I get back. It's gonna be weird. Least ah know my family 'n' girlfriend will take care of my body while ah'm gone. Just as a safety precaution, ah have put J.O.H.N. on autopilot and ah will only 'awaken' - so to speak - if somethin' goes wrong. Either way, ah'll be seein' you soon Junie. Ah hope you're proud o' me, or even think ah'm a little crazy, 'cause this is the last thing ah could think of now.]

Though, upon closer inspection, it would be as clear as day to anyone that J.O.H.N. and the E.D.s have been running around looking for June for a lot longer than four years - given the minor damages, scratches and weather-worn parts. The mechanical bird which had been hacked by Zydras scampered along the top of the bull's back before finally loosening some wires at its front for it to weave an connect itself to the bull robot; transferring data like the others would do.
Corrupted data.

The first line of code, designed to stop the bull from drawing power from an external source, failed; as indicated by an error sound bite echoing from the E.D. The second line of code, designed to lock out June's voice and terminal commands couldn't have sang that error sound bite any faster. The third code-

Sparks were sent flying and J.O.H.N. bellowed out an almost pained, mechanical cry as it twitched violently before stumbling over itself and fell to its side and shut down. The ground on the island they were all on shook briefly from the impact. Sparks were still flying in from some of the joints and inner workings of the machine. It was silent for several minutes before it declared:
[A problem has been detected and J.O.H.N. has shut down to prevent further damage and corruption of data.]

The stiff, mechanical pose the bull had whilst it lay on it's side lax; the head wobbled and the legs idly dragged slowly along the hot, rocky ground.
"Uuhhh..." he groaned as it slowly lifted its head; yellow spotlight-for-an-eye flickered and a lens over it 'blinked' a few times. He was silent as he lay there on his belly; front legs folded under him and hind legs off to the side as Austin was gathering his bearings, "Well ah'll be damned. It worked."
An odd chuckle mix of mechanical parts moving, wheezing, a bull's bellow and a human's voice rattled from the machine, "Alrighty then... hmmm... seems to me that it's gonna take me a while to access all of the data which has been recorded by the E.D.s and J.O.H.N... piece by piece rather than all at once most likely..." he murmured to himself as he was slowly moving about the limbs and twitched the rail guns on his back experimentally. A few panels opened and closed, steam expelled from his nostrils and other gaps along his body before he then shifted the very, very heavy body weight of the ten foot bull back and forth in attempt to get to his feet. He stumbled several times, like a newborn calf but also like a newborn calf he was pretty able to figure out how to stand and walk on those mechanical legs fairly quickly.

It was when he was back on his feet he had a better look around him; noticing the finer details and more obvious ones in the chamber. The first thing he was was the core beside him, causing for Austin to retreat a few paces as his spotlight scanned over the various surfaces of the overheating Core.
A loud, impressed whistle sliced through the air, "Well slap a saddle on me and call me a mule-"
"Heh."
"-that there is one mighty fine piece o' work, that is. Ah betcha it that big ol' thing has enough juice to power an entire town. A city even. Ah wonder who built it - or where am ah fer that matter."

He turned his head towards the group of monsters, leaving him still for a moment, "Is that... are they..." he began before almost immediately spotted the very familiar figure walking towards the group. Austin let out a gasp, "Junie! Junie, is that really you?!" the machine bellowed out before he started galloping towards her. He didn't get very far though, when all those wires that had tethered him to the Core stopped him from getting too close; probably only a few metres away.
"Junie... ah knew it! Ah knew ah'd find you!" he proclaimed with utter happiness, jumping on the spot briefly with joy; even if it did cause for the ground in the immediate area to quake, "They gave up! But ah didn't! No-sir-ee! Ah just knew that you would be too tough to be six feet under, ah can't believe no one else-"
There was a sudden pause the longer Austin stared at June; mechanical cogs turning and whistling as he was processing something.
"Wait a sec... you look different... naw, you should look different. You haven't aged a day, nor worn a change o' clothes since y'all went missin'..."

[File 234952.wav recovered.]

[I came down here on purpose... That night, a young lad, a friend of mine; Peter... Never meant anyone any harm, was a patient boy an' nice to everyone. Even so some slimeball bullies from school snatched him up when he was walkin' home down the road past ma' house...]
The recording continued to play and Austin didn't move or say anything; just simply staring right ahead of him.

The robotic avians ceased their dancing to the music, tilting their heads as they each received June's command via a transmission from the one sitting on her shoulder.
[Input command received.]
[Command type: June Directive.]
[Processing...]

Several dings went off around the group as each machine confirmed the latest command.
[Command received.]

The bull snorted out some light steam from its nostrils upon hearing June. While its stance still seemed rigid and kept a mini gun trained on Papyrus, the positioning of the gun seemed to appear somewhat less 'alert'.

After the command from June was given out, the E.D. Haruno was interacting with responded with, [Access denied. Please contact your local Administrator if you wish to access the Exploration Database Library.]
It then resumed organic bird movements and behavior; all the while keeping an eye on the monsters - just as the others have been since their arrival.

J.O.H.N. grew still as June told her tale, it didn't seem to actively respond to her but still listening attentively; possibly recording it too? Soon after the machine had detected that June stopped speaking, a low whirring sound and static sparked from the surrounding speakers around the old, scratched, television screen built into the side of the bull.
[Audio Log: June Forth, Two-thousand-and-scthck-] it announced, the end of the date was cut out with some static before cutting out completely, and then continuing, [Howdy there, this is Austin. Ah'm startin' an audio log ter keep track o' what's been happenin' lately. Jus' a few days ago we celebrated Junie's seventeenth birthday - but none o' us have seen her ever since. She just, disappeared? Her window was left open and ah couldn't find any notes left behind like she normally would do. Thought it was mighty strange; especially when she was happy as a puppy with two peckers when ah gave her that hat, she did... ah tried callin' all her friends but none o' them said she was stayin' at their houses.] a sigh scraped through the speakers [Junie, ah hope you're okay and ah hope that you're not mad at any o' us or nothin'. Seein' as ah doubt anyone would have tried ter have taken you. Too much of a fighter ya are. Hell, ah even had to take karate lessons ter protect myself from you, heh.]

The bull's tail swished as it seemed to continue to process more information, [Audio log: June thirteenth.] it announced, but this time without a year. Perhaps it was due to some data corruption? [Hey there, Austin again. Haven't had a chance to make another entry earlier on the count o' my folks and ah have been searchin' day 'n' night fer my lil sister. No one has heard any trace o' her. It's been almost two weeks since Junie disappeared and somethin' is definitely wrong.] there was a pause as Austin took a moment to inhale slowly, as if suppressing some anger in his often cheerful tone. [Though,if yer hearin' this Junie, this here ain't funny no more lil sis, ya hear? Y'all have gone gotten us more worked up than a weaning calf over ya. Best you get home lickety-split.]

J.O.H.N. swayed its head slightly as it looked as though it was still playing some more audio logs it had recorded in its database, [Audio log: June twenty-ninth.][Okay so... it's gettin' a lil too close ter a month now. So much has happened ever since. If Junie was madder than a wet hen o' somethin' she woulda come home by now so ah'm convinced that some nutter has managed ter take her or somethin' is preventin' her from comin' home. If yer hearin' this Junie, just know that all of yer brothers 'n' parents are lookin' fer ya and we haven't given up hope. Don't be scared. No need to sweat small stuff. We will find you. One way or another.]

[Audio log: September Forth.] Sounds of metal pieces clattering, distant banging and spinning blades tearing through metal could be heard in the background before finally what presumably was a microphone being noisily adjusted; until that familiar voice was heard, this time sounding rather grave, [Alright, so, it's now September Forth. Three months. Junie's disappearance has devastated the family - o' course. Papa, bein' a sheriff 'n' all, has been workin' extra long hours. Leavin' at the crack o' dawn and not return 'til long after the cows came home. Ah hardly see 'im, but ah reckon he spends more time out there lookin' for Junie than time at home. Probably only stops by for no more than six hours at a time, ah reckon. We don't talk much no more, but ah still admire 'im for how much he's sacrificed for the family. Mama... she ain't copin' well at all. She quit her job and stays at home - course, none o' us mind that. What we do mind, is how she is 'dealin'' with Junie's disappearance. Sittin' by that chair a lil yonder over by the window at the front o' the house, starin' out this here window with her hands wrapped around the telephone. All day. All night. She refuses to eat, sleep or even bathe. Just waitin' and prayin' that her only, little girl comes home soon.] There was a pause filled with background noises of people at work with sheets of metal. Austin then cleared his throat, after what sounded like a few sniffles, [Sometimes when ah try ter talk to her or bring her food 'n' convince her to eat at least somethin', she would always tell me that she just knows Junie will be home any minute... and y'all know what? My brothers and ah believe her! We know Junie is tough as nails. There ain't nothin' and no one that'll stop her.]
A light chuckle echoed as his tone picked up, [And you know what else? After spendin' the last few months tinkerin' ah have successfully made the very first Exploration Database unit! ah've programmed it to specifically find my lil sister and this here lil fella will be able to run 'n' run 'n' run fer a real long time before it's batteries conk out. It's also designed to record anything it sees and hears - as well as responds ter voice it hears. Just in case it finds June and she can just talk to it ter make things easier. Made it from left over scraps of metal from my car ah just just bought last year. Doubt ah'll find any more important use for it than use the metal to make these here lil guys. So this will be the first of twenty ah reckon. Now at least with the E.D.s runnin' around it could at least lift some of the pressure from dear ol' Pa. We'll be seeing you real soon Junie, yeehaaaaw!]

[Warning. Data corruption detected. Several Audio Logs have been corrupted and deleted.] the bull announced before it continued.
[Audio log: May sixth.] [...and that's how ah found this here stone. Fascinating lil o' thing. Heard it's linked to some sort 'o ancient civilization or somthin'. Ah dunno. ah kinda have my doubts, but hey, if the of-chance it helps to find Junie, it couldn't hurt to attach it to one of my robots right? Almost been a year now and we still haven't given up. We know Junie is out there and alive somewhere, we just haven't found her yet. If ah'm honest, ah'm a lil worried about seein' her again. Heh. Ah just know she would probably beat me senseless fer not findin' her faster - but better later than never, right? Anywho, ah've started workin' on a new project. Gonna make somethin' a whole lotta bigger than an E.D. Just in case Junie may be stuck or held hostage somewhere and needs a lil o' help with knocking' down some walls. It'll take me quite some time and ah reckon by the end of it ah should be able to take a lil piece o' me along with it should it be proven necessary... Ah tell you what, if any y'all listening have been keepin' my lil sis from comin' home, y'all are gonna regret it ya hear? Ah'm well past willin' to do whatever it takes to bring her home to where she belongs - even if it means ah gotta get myself locked up. Nothin' and no one is more important ter us. You have been warned.]

Seeing Haruno climb back up at the same place she jumped off prior, the E.D.  hopped and scuttled along the spot and kept a yellow eye trained on her. Scratchy recordings sounded from the mechanical bird; though it seemed to be not directed at anyone but itself.

After June had attended to and shut the panel, the whirs of internal spinning gears, clanks of bits of metal flicking and rolling against each other sounded and various lights flicked on - in particular the yellow headlight at the front of the mechanical bull as it pushed itself back up onto its four metal feet.
[Reboot successful. J.O.H.N. online.] it declared, [Electromagnetic Rail Gun: primed. Extraordinary Mystic Nullifying Rail Gun: charging... Default settings: E.M.N. Non-lethal...]

At the sound of its final declaration, the left rail gun tipped down and the right one tipped upwards; tilting from side-to-side, as though alert and ready to fire. Upper panels  at either side slide upon to reveal a mini gun pop out at either side of the mechanical bull. Stagnant, low hisses sounded as considerable amounts of steam were released from the bull once it had finished its 'reboot'. The robot then took more organic steps, lowering its head to the ground as though it were grazing; it swatted its tail every once in a while, almost hitting the long cords just above it which connected it to the Core.
The Core rumbled lightly.

When the music started playing the E.D.s were the first to react, some of them maintained their organic bird behavior and bobbed their heads up and down; apparently recognizing the song from somewhere. The units which were further away and couldn't pick up the tunes as well all responded at different times with, [Voice command unrecognized. Please stand closer, speak with clarity and try again.] J.O.H.N. on the other hand, didn't react to it whatsoever and continued its 'grazing'.

June, of course, would likely recognize the difference of summoning bones to suit as a chair from an attack, but machines on the other hand, didn't. A troubled, mechanical bellow rumbled from the bull as it raised its head and trotted closer to June; showing the length and one side of its body towards Papyrus and the group of monsters much further away. The behemoth turned its headlight to look directly at the skeleton; a few gears turned and steam hissed out from its artificial nostrils - like it was calculating. It soon deduced that he was at a suitable distance from June - but only just - and didn't require any further action beyond keeping a mini gun trained on the skeleton.

Papyrus must really believe in the monsters behind him.

Seeing the Core overheating, but not anywhere a critical state as of yet, Sans shook his head, "Always thought it was kinda dumb cooling the Core down with blocks of ice from Snowdin. Would have thought the genius behind that would have made a dedicated coolant system for it." he commented with a mild bite to his words.

Sixteen E.D. units did so as they scuttled along the ground towards the colossal-sized mechanical bull. The birds then stretched their wings, crouched and ejected another large burst of steam so that they could make that dramatic ten foot jump and land on J.O.H.N.'s back. The birds scrambled and scuttled in an incoherent mess along its back until it found a row of nine coin-sized holes at either side of its back. Soon some wires were unraveled from the breasts of the mechanical birds and inserted; uploading the information they have gathered from interacting with the monsters.

While the E.D. units were helpful, being machines, they couldn't go against their programming when voice commands were recognized; they too were also assessing the monsters. They recorded how many there were, how many were speaking to them - the robots concluded by their programming that said monsters whom interacted with the E.D.s were considered sentient, which monsters demonstrated prowess, whom were aggressive, whom were passive, whom were assertive, whom were timid,  whom were considered dangerous and whom were considered violent. They asked the monsters if they knew where June was, not because the robots didn't know where they were, but as a part of their assessment of the nearing group.

The bull bucked its head up and down in a repeated motion; causing for the singluar ring piercing it's artificial snout to clang and and clack against the upper and under sides of its head. The singular, yellow, headlight-for-an-eye flickered with aggravation upon realizing that not all E.D.s were there to deliver the information to it; along with hearing June's passionate outcry. The robots didn't appear to recognize the difference between June's form as a soul alone or one with a physical body.

The avian machines seized up and spoke one after the other with the same deep, pre-recorded voice:
[Input command received.]
[User: June recognized.]
[Welcome to the E.D. and J.O.H.N. network interface. We will protect you and adhere to any commands you may have.]
[Command type recognised.]
[Processing...]

A side panel of the bull opened up to reveal an arsenal of different firearms for June to pick from, and once taken from their racks the panel closed up again and the bull resumed it's organic movements; circling around June as long, thick wires connected from its lower back to a base part of the Core. The sixteen E.D. units spread out to the outer perimeters of the island, all of which kept their cautious, yellow eyes on the group from below.
[Charging Juggernaut Optimized for Hazardous Nullification unit.] it decreed, [Electromagnetic Rail Gun primed. Extraordinary Mystic Nullifying Rail Gun primed. Default settings: E.M.N. Non-lethal.]
[Scanning...]
It looked up to the group. The yellow light turned red.
[Hostile detected.]
Loud revving sounds of a large, heavy weapon sounded, along with the entire Core shutting down so suddenly and drastically from having all that power being drained from it all at once caused for the ground to quake. Albeit, not quite as violent as the last one, but still enough to shake the ground about.

If it was sheer luck, pure skill or he just had damn good reflexes, Sans didn't know or stop to think about it. In half a soul beat Sans' left eye flared up as a vehement, cold, blue flame as the icy feeling and pressure of his magic burst out from him; causing for his formal attire to flicker violently about his bones. Monsters with absolutely, incredible, inhuman eyesight would have just barely caught a glimpse of what had just happened; the first being a flash of blinding light from one of the Railguns on the behemoth of a robot's back. Then Sans, Papyrus, Toriel, Asriel, Undyne, Asgore, Cherry, Zydras, Muffet, Hiss, Lily, Sakura, Gust, Riverperson, the unconscious guards and Generva had vanished, were propelled suddenly forward and just as their feet touched the ground of the island below; the beam of bright light shot through the air right at where the monsters were standing but a moment before.
[Target within range. Commence EMN Detonation.]

Sans gasped and leaned against his brother for a moment after pulling these monsters through a shortcut so suddenly and with this many souls present to avoid the collision. After the pulse he welcomed the opportunity to dilute the burning flame to a mere glowing eye which flickered through blues and yellows.
"Oh crap." he breathed with dread, "I don't think I got everyone."
He looked around and realized just who was missing. A very tall monster. It wasn't intentional by any means, but that didn't change the outcome.

[Direct hit. Target neutralized. Threat level: decreased.]
It's eye then reverted back from a violent red to a cautious yellow; and then going out completely. The machine's head lowered as it powered down and the Core went back online.
An E.D. unit scuttled up to June and leapt to their shoulder, [J.O.H.N. requires your attention to go back online. Some of his functionalities are still active, but the efficiency is vastly decreased. Please access the emergency power override panel and re-calibrate J.O.H.N. unit.]

Back on the upper level, just outside the collapsed tunnel, Haruno had taken a direct hit from the blast to her abdomen. She wasn't physically injured in any way, but the magic she possessed from conjuring instruments, drawing strength from or otherwise from the darkness all the way to how she could change clothes at will were depleted. Use of her magic, other than from keeping her form, was repelled and sparked dangerously around her. She would still be conscious, move around, speak and all that, but use of her magic had been utterly taken away from her.

Following up soon after, the small, scratched up television screen on the side of the bull closest to June flicked on as soon as June's voice was recognized. There was no visuals on screen yet, but the recording of a voice June would easily have recognized to have belonged to her eldest brother sounded. His voice sounded just as scratchy and noisy as the prerecorded voices of the robots.
[Hello? June? You must be there if yer hearin' me. Otherwise this here message wouldn'tah started playin'. You haven't forgotten abou' yer goof of a brother, Austin, now have ya?] A forced chuckle rattled through the speakers, [ This is such a relief lil sibs, 'n' don't you worry no nothin'. J.O.H.N. won't hurt you. Please go with it June, we miss you. It's gettin' a mighty quiet around these here parts without ya slingin' those revolvers all mighty impressive-like.]
There was a noticeable pause before a sigh was heard, [Ah 'dun know if you just disappeared because you were taken or ran away from home, but if ah did anythin' to make you mad, ah'm really sorry. Please come back home.]
A click and some static sounded shortly after to indicate the end of the recording.

((A/N: Here we go! Anyone can post now! :D Please note what happened to Haruno is the result of her actions and lack of actions made in the Mini. Like Gust, she will get her powers back by the end of the mini.))
