Waterfall / Re: Waterfall Sonata Reprise (Undyne and ???)

”Mm, maybe it does maybe it doesn't. I have my reasons.” Both a reaction and an example, quite amazingly put too.

Letting Undyne process her thoughts aloud, the enigma in white simply nodded. It was, as colourfully as Undyne said 'such bullshit'— and she wasn't even among those that experienced it in a direct fashion like Sans for instance. ”Indeed; it would be exhausting. I can confirm that it is exactly that... However, waste of time?” The armored one shook his head. ”Not at all a waste of time. A direct explanation doesn't always give the best results. Always caused paranoia, unrest, panic, et cetera.” No doubt something Undyne as Captain of the guard wanted to avoid completely if able.

Undyne was always pretty proactive on things like this, a very welcome occurrence. ”Good, you should talk to Sans first. Doooon't talk to Alphys just yet.” There he was again, speaking as if he knew something. ”I mean, you won't be able to most likely. Hard to explain— its mostly her work schedule conflicting with yours for a good while; it is not my place to tell you what she knows. Just go to Sans first, okay?”

Her thoughts on Asgore were interesting too. She was right, if Asgore didn't deviate from the original plan, well... Not much good could possibly come of it. ”Hah, 'this time', how topical. True though, seems like that is how it is.” Perhaps Undyne could get through to Asgore in the end. Only time would tell, as it always has. ”You're lucky, your faith is more or less well placed at the moment. I hope it stays that way. When it doesn't, and he ends up the exact opposite of what you believe... Things get ugly.”

The mysterious monster folded his arms and gave Undyne one last look over. ”Do you think you'll be alright now, then?”

”Fair enough, I don't blame you.” The mysterious individual replied casually with a hint of class. ”Really how many people would you trust that show up to be helpfully ominous, am I right?” They added with a chuckle of sorts. Regardless, they weren't particularly surprised with what Undyne said, but accepted it anyway. ”We'll see, I suppose.”

The dropped spear earned a hum of curiosity, but Undyne was left to speak as she wished for the time-being. ”Crazy is an understatement, I'll say that much.” Now, she was cooking with gas. Undyne really did catch on quick when given the right information, almost always. ”The worst part about that is... If the world rewinds again, you won't know and we will be back to square one.” Thus, the problem was put out on the table, and only two people so far would potentially know for sure. ”It is said ignorance is bliss.” Perhaps in this case specifically, that was true. Who in their right mind would want to have this kind of knowledge?

”Again, I don't blame you. I came prepared, that's all.” The armored one shrugged their shoulders slightly. Their tone didn't precisely convey the outright desire for a fight or physical confrontation. It was far more close to acceptance— accepting that it could be possible, coming from Undyne. Despite this, her answer was 'satisfactory' so to speak, since the armored enigma nodded slowly, listening intently. ”I see, I wouldn't exactly call wanting people to be the best them they can be 'foolish'. That begs the question though; what will you do to get there if our King's methods are flawed? Do you think he will listen when anyone tells him his plan was wrong? Because I think it was exactly that.”

The stern stare was nothing new. Understandable, but nothing new. This mysterious stranger readily assumed Undyne didn't exactly think too highly of him, and for the moment he was of course correct. ”I don't need to read minds to tell what you're thinking. Speak freely, if you so desire.” He made a slight bow, an oddly official and regal one at that. Noting Undyne's overall temperament, it seemed as though this was going swimmingly so far; she was listening and giving thought to what was said. The way he saw it— if she could still step forward with matching confidence, she might not even be as conflicted as she thought!

Still, she was more quiet than most would think she could be given this line of very specific questioning. Was it predictable from the armored monster's perspective? Sure, but that wasn't exactly a bad thing... Maybe it was a relief? It was true thought, a run of the mill fan wouldn't be asking these sorts of things... No, these would be the type of things a friend would likely say. Yet, from Undyne's perspective, they had not met until the events at the Core...

”Hmm?” Now things were fully kicking into gear; Undyne had her own curiosity to satiate but she had asked the right thing this time. ”You know, I find it unfathomably disrespectful that there are people with the gall to think you're nothing but a meathead— when clearly you are smarter than that.” The enigma in white scoffed at the idea that some people would be so close minded. ”Yes, from my perspective. This has happened many times over, with mild variations of course.”

While speaking, the armored one was simply looking around the ruined hall, as if he was making sure of something. Maybe one of those variations he was talking about? Nevertheless, his gaze once again fell on Undyne. Though not directly due to what he was currently wearing, there was definitely some manner of fierce conviction behind his gaze— picking up on that would be effortless for Undyne. ”I see you aren't completely against having a go at me this time.” He inquired, gesturing to Undyne and her spears. ”My question is, what is it that will actually happen next? What is it that this instance of you brings to the table? Is where you are now where you want to be? Have you been going forward in your life on your own terms or not?” He shrugged once again, letting the question sit for a while. ”Only you can answer those questions. Not me. Not Asgore. You.” Hopefully, she would be able to answer them, for her sake more than anyone else's.

The armored one chuckled lightly; and waved in a more friendly manner despite Undyne's clear scowl and disdain. ”Yes, yes, people do say that you are quite impatient. I'm aware of the irony.” It seemed he too remembered the same promise, one that he of course welcomed at the time and still did— this was different though. He stepped forward a few paces and shrugged. ”This might sound weird, but this has nothing to do with that promise at all. That isn't what I'm here to cash in on or fulfill, nor are you.” Yep. Definitely Sans-tier vaguetalk, for sure.

Either way, this was a more delicate situation that needed a different sort of approach. For all the vagueness that this individual was putting off, perhaps he knew exactly how delicate the situation really was right now? ”Is that so? Fair enough, that's just how you see it.” Apparent knack for crappy timing aside, Undyne was only given a shrug in return for that statement. Now, what came next could arguably be far more interesting. In the same instant Undyne asked her final question, the mysterious monster posed... ”What do you want?” The exact same thing, at the exact same time.

Whether Undyne was stunned or not, the enigma in white continued to speak. ”Bit of a loaded question don't you think? If you must know; I want the same thing as you.” Another step forward was made, one in unshakable confidence— the kind of confidence that Undyne herself was most known for. ”I want to know if what I am doing is still the right thing. I want to know if the path I walk is truly one of my own creation... Or if it is pointless in the end.” Tilting their head slightly to the side, the flickerings of magic from within the helmet flashed from under the visor. ”Or we just really want a pizza, one of the two.”

Little did Undyne know, there was something lurking that tracked her from afar. Keeping enough of a distance so as to not be intrusive, but close enough to recognize when Undyne began to move to a different location. Whatever or whoever it was, clearly had enough smarts to not directly intervene with the Captain’s underwater outburst.

Regardless, it was as if the entity lurking knew where Undyne would of course eventually end up, as they moved on ahead; and swiftly hid themselves awaiting Undyne’s arrival to the banquet hall where the party began earlier in the evening.

Soon enough; Undyne arrived at the unfortunate mess, just as predicted. She cleared out some of it, but she couldn’t exactly do it all on her own… Well, she could just not efficiently. It wasn’t her goal to clean the place anyway, not really. She was aiming to find something important; the piano— thankfully it remained mostly intact. Then, she began to play. It was always this song when she made the decision to come here after that ordeal every other timeline. Not many would see or hear this, and fewer still would manage to appreciate how emotionally strong yet delicate Undyne was being as she played the piece on this almost ruined piano. The one watching could hardly blame her; the piece was beautiful and honestly the only one that could show what she was feeling. The only way anyone listening could understand.

Though, as far as Undyne knew, nobody was listening.

Oh how wrong she was. When her anguish and pained internal conflict caused her to damage the very instrument that mere moments ago helped; moments after her vicious outburst— everything fell silent. Pieces of the piano indeed flew in all directions, but eventually they seemed to slow down until reaching a dead stop in mid air. A slight sheen of pale cyan swirled around each and every piece; from notable chunks to the thinnest of splinters…

It was as if time itself reversed for the piano; as the sound of the crunch and impact also inverted, the damage that Undyne caused, was undone... But who could have possibly..?

”Well then.” From a good few meters away behind the piano; among the rubble stood an armored individual; the same one that appeared to the group at the Core and subsequently slithered away, only to taunt via some other means. Rather than using elusive tricks of magic to exist just beyond the perception and reach of others, they were there plain as day. ”Fancy meeting you here, hmm?” Their tone was odd to say the least, equal parts genuine concern and haughty condescension; yet all together vague. The Sans sort of vague, to be specific, arguably the worst most mind-boggling kind of vague.

"Oh, yeah. By proxy, if anything." Luis also gave a noncommittal shrug just as Niskel did. It was good to know that Niskel's sister was faring decently enough in either case. Offering a kind, reassuring smile, Luis nodded. "Anything to lend a hand and make a difference." In any life, one past, this one or the next. "You have a good night, Niskel." With that, Luis promptly made his way onward...

Noting that Yanezi responded near immediately, Luis swiveled on his heel and turned around to face the cool cat, backtracking with a graceful short glide of sorts. "I'm glad to have made it. As luck would so kindly shine its light upon me, the end of my shift coincided quite neatly with the beginning of this here event. To that I said 'oh, why not go?'~" Luis trilled with a bright accompanying smile as he occupied one of the empty seats, his observations continuing as normal thereafter. "I can totally see that happening, there are some ancient verses and such being displayed already after all."

Turning his attention to Riverperson, Luis once again gave her a smile. "Well, you still made the decision to come in the end, and we're glad to have you." Despite her reserved mannerisms, Riverperson's presence did not go entirely unnoticed by Luis as he either listened or conversed with the others. 'Just what is she thinking? Acting a little cheeky, heheh. I guess I know who to blame for that.' He wondered. However, the exact intent or reasoning behind River's actions remained a mystery. Perhaps that was for the best?

True to his initial observation of Fia, the firecracker was as joyous as ever. "Fair is fair. You do always have yourself in your company regardless, don't you? It'd be hard to not be happy about that~" Nodding to Fia's affirmation, Luis quirked a brow at her pause. That particular instance of rhythm and poetry must've been undeniably unique by the sounds of things if Fia and Yanezi's memories of it were anything to go by. "Is there perhaps a recording of it out there on the Undernet?" Luis chuckled briefly while envisioning the possibilities as he put forth the question to those at the table. Luis held a hand behind his head and blushed slightly. Sure, compliments in regards to his piano or music related skills weren't uncommon or unexpected, but it seemed as though it meant more coming from some people, Fia especially considering it was what she had hired him for. "I can't argue with the experts, huh?" He asked bashfully before letting out a little excited 'kree' sound when his order had arrived.

7
Luis smiled wide, seeing the good and honest people bright and happy— in some ways at least spiritually free— it brought the winged man great joy. "As I said, it fits you because its yours." A light chuckle followed. "Still on that is she? She's doing well, I hope? Regardless, chase your dreams." Luis gave a mild shrug, following Niskel's train of thought. Dreaming a big yet honest dream such as that was more than admirable, it was inspiring even. "I think you've got the soul for it. When you've got a satisfactory single recorded or something, mind letting me listen? I'd be honored~"

As for information on Yanezi being present or not, Luis gave an appreciative nod. "Awesome, thank you." Luis made a noncommittal wiggly hand gesture at the idea of a irregular order. "For me, maybe." He added with a sly smirk as he wandered off towards the seating area. Mere moments later, one of the brightest most energetic flames burst into the establishment. 'Not too different for her though. Hmhmhm~' He thought with a slight blush creeping up on his cheeks.

Interestingly enough, Fia was accompanied by another whom greatly contrasted the chemical flame with a more silent and soft entrance. 'Well would ya look at that...'

Noting that Yanezi seemed busy with some reading— by the looks of things she was doing research related to tertiary education avenues. Good on her! Luis opted to not vocally disturb her, instead, he winked, projecting a flow of shining white grains of light that formed into a tinier silhouette of himself, standing approximately one inch tall over onto Yanezi's table. With a soft and almost holy ding, the tiny glowing caricature waved enthusiastically upwards to the feline and pointed over to it's conjuror before gracefully dissipating with a small bow.

With some time to himself, Luis took into account others that chose to make their way to the café as he had his attention mostly held towards the entrance. 'Now who else might there be missing...' Shortly, his question was answered, and he groaned internally, but otherwise sighed outwardly after turning his attention back to his table. 'They better not cause any trouble.'. Luis began to whistle an upbeat little tune to himself up until Fia skipped on over. Gladly, he responded in a similar fashion, firstly with a bit of tongue and cheek. "Ooooh, my~!" Luis comically double-took, quickly conjuring a little exclamation point above his head for extra pizazz. "Look who it is. I might have to ask the same, madam~" A matching snort-laugh to her giggle escaped the winged man as he calmed himself.

"Yanezi recommended that I at least attend to watch the show. I'm uncertain of joining. Sure enough, I can keep a rhythm, but as you know my talents are firmly rooted in the realm of pianocraft~!" Luis emphasized with a harmless flash of flourish with some enthusiastic jazz-hands. ""As for anything new? Hmm. I think it would be best if I were to show you sometime." Seeing River slowly glide over, Luis waved for her to take a seat. "Hello there, River. The more the merrier it seems, are you curious about this event as I am?" He asked, returning a smile.

8
A short few moments later, an elegant whistling tune had gracefully weaved into the establishment following the gentle opening of the front door; oddly enough matching up perfectly with the beat and timing of the current track playing through the overhead speakers. The tune came from none other than Luis. He was wearing an amalgamation of casual and work clothes, for one he had his snow boots and signature fuzzy collar jacket, which was was draped over his uniform from the Waterfall Natural History Museum. The uniform was a dark navy blue shirt and dress pants set, with soft baby blue bio-luminescent accents at the ends of each article of clothing and on the inside as well. The logo of the museum was emblazoned on the right side of his chest and gave of the same soft glow. 'Let us see what we have here..' Politely making his way around other passing patrons, Luis glanced around to take in the atmosphere. Espresso yourself was as lively as ever, a relief, to be sure.

'Undyne? Here and now? Oho, now that is a rare sight. Hmm, that button eyed youngster that showed up in the Ruins is here too. I wonder what they're all about.' Luis thoughtfully mused to himself as he continued to whistle along with the live musical performance. 'I think I see one of those more individualistic Tems too, Bob, I believe it was...' Tilting his head and looking forward into the line of customers that came in before him; sure enough; Luis saw Bob.

Soon enough; Luis had reached the front of the line and ceased whistling. "Heeey there Niskel! lovin' the new hairdo— fits you real well~" Offering a smile, Luis eyed the menu boards. "How've you been? I up and just got off work, eheh~ Didn't have much planned and figured I'd come by and see what all the buzz was about this evening's event since Yanezi thought I'd like it. Is she around by any chance? It seemed like her kinda thing." Luis inquired, not having seen Yanezi upon entering, so he assumed she was either not present or somewhere further inside. "Anywho, could please I get a Vulkinian coffee with cream aaaaaaaaand, two apple-peach scones~? That'd be grand~" Luis brought out his wallet and payed up front before making his way to a seat with his little number; either somewhere by himself or with a certain feline should she perhaps be lurking.

"I'll have to say, I look forward to it, they must be wonderful youngsters!" Luis entertained the idea that the trio of potential oracles already kind of knew about him. Perhaps it would be fun to out-predict the predictors? Hopeful that Fia's youngest siblings would grow into their magical power, Luis gave a reassuring smile. "If they have such a caring older sister then any trial they face will be taken care of, I'd imagine~"

Luis smiled along with Fia. "Just some light—" He winked, a little harmless flash occurred as a result. "—fun~" Luis added with a chuckle. As for the thoughts on telepaths, Luis couldn't help but agree. He nodded before continuing once more. "All true, but the more mischievous telepaths out there are going to get a big ol' surprise if they try and get to me. Mental training goes a long way, I say." Tapping the side of his head, Luis wiggled his eyebrows for some cheeky emphasis.

As much as Luis would've wanted to talk to Fia further, it was at that moment before he could respond to the coyness displayed by the firework festival of a Monster across from him; a member of her family had shown up; Cole no less!

"Oh, the straws? A very unique hair accessory, that. What a cool gift~" Luis smiled, appreciative of Cherry's understanding. Glancing over to Fia, Luis nodded to confirm what she had stated about Cherry earning a medal. "Indeed, very brave."

With everyone else otherwise occupied; Luis simply sat in peace until he deftly leaped into action with Yanezi. Before returning to his seat, he gave Yanezi a brief chuckle as an aside. "I hope she gets her act together. Foul behavior such as that, from a noble no less? Honestly, such an embarrassment." A thumbs up and a smile was exchanged before the two parted ways. "Not a problem at all~"

Returning, he let out a chuckle and held the back of his neck. "N-n-no really, it wasn't much of anything. Just doing part to keep things together, eheh~" Unlike some people; who many could argue missed out on a chance to actually do their job regardless of being on break, Luis was aware of his surroundings and acted as he felt appropriate to be of help to others. He didn't need a lofty title or occupational obligation. Luis stole a glance towards Boreas as Yanezi was dealing with him. 'It seems I can't count on him to act this time either, and as always... If he is here, then...' Before long, five conveniently colour coded individuals shuffled their way in after Boreas rushed out. 'They won't be too far behind. Hmph. They probably won't notice what might happen next.' As he looked off into the cafe, taking in the atmosphere, the door weakly creaked open, and Luis heard gasps of surprise. Turning to see, as he expected, another sad occurrence. Thankfully, Cherry had stepped up to the plate. She truly earned that medal.

Sighing, Luis rolled his shoulders and gave Fia a tired look. "Indeed, they hardly need the extra work. It was good of Cherry to take initiative like that. I think that little one will be just fine with her taking care of them." Moments later, Fia had a rush of energy, almost startling Luis. "O-oh, well I—" Before he could protest, she had linked arms with him and began to yank him along. Reflexively, Luis summoned up several shapes of solid light to scoop up any valuables and personal property that he or Fia could have left behind. "U-uhm, see you all later then!"

WHAT IF?! / Warm, and Real, and Bright

In Character Date & Time: 20th March UUY 2, approximately 11AM

Everything in Waterfall was peaceful, for once, and on a Friday too. Even the geological namesakes of the area had a bit of softness to them in the way they had been flowing today. It couldn't really get any better than that. However, some people were still busy, one such individual was Luis; who was about to finish a shift at front desk of Waterfall's museum. Several of his co-workers that were just coming in to prepare for their day at work gave him an extra bit of a smile, some gave him a passing pat on the shoulder. Eventually; the Monster that would cover the next few hours at front desk came along; and it was none other than Cole Burns! "Hey, Lou." The youth gave a salute, to which Luis responded in kind. "Yo. Ready for day one?" He asked with a smidge of snark. Cole scoffed and smirked in return. "Yeah duh. You know it. Get out there and have a good day now will ya? I've convinced Fia to take a short day as I promised. So, you're all set— oh, and happy birthday!"

"Awesome. Thanks, Cole." With a soft smile and nod, Luis turned and walked away leaving Cole to his duty.

In Hotland, it was similarly peaceful, give or take the energetic plume of heat that swirled around as members of this more than warm community expressed their positivity. The wonders of the day seemed to encompass more of the Underground than initially anticipated, the weather here was comparatively just as good as it was in Waterfall... 'Positively sweltering' as many would say. Luis wasn't dissuaded by this, as he had some manner of heat protection charm on his person. So, he made his way along the simmering path until he had reached what one might call the most out there buildings of all— Fia's Fireworks and Celebrations Boutique— the place where he landed a contract based job as an on call pianist. Procuring his phone from his pocket, Luis leaned on the wall outside and began tapping away at the keys.

[[Hey boss. Its Luis, I just got off work early— someone offered to cover for me, isn't that awesome? So, I was wondering if you were free today and if you felt like hanging out. I'm just outside the store.

Description:Luis is a tall and well built gentleman with soft golden skin. His face is somewhat angular, and he has pointed elven ears. An electrifying light blue lives in the colour of his eyes. Luis also has majestic wings in an angelic scaled white; using the structure and span of a bird, but with the aesthetic features of a bat. His short hair is its own brand of wavy and brushed off to the side. Whats more; his hair is a very stunning iridescent emerald green; each strand of hair shimmers slightly under different levels of light depending on the angle he is viewed from. Luis tends to dress casually; preferring a simple long sleeve green shirt accompanied by a brown jacket with a fuzzy collar, black trousers and some baby blue converse sneakers.

About:A mild mannered, approachable man, Luis isn't one for the spotlight despite being a Monster that has magical abilities based around light. He doesn't like to make too big a show of things, and prefers to take a back seat in many cases unless his inner burning passion is coaxed out of him, usually said passion is related to the ways of the piano, or historical discoveries. Luis operates his routine in a very timely manner and always gets to where he means to be either on time or earlier. He is no stranger to being 'in the wrong place at the right time' either, it is as if he attracts that sort of odd scenario.

Luis is a very well read individual, and seems to be quite intelligent and wise for someone his age. He also learns rather quickly, with the ability to obtain new skills on the fly as he applies himself to the learning process; and even then, things progress as if they were already familiar to him somehow...

Snowdin / Re: Come On In, The Coffee's Hot! (Open Scene)
« on: February 06, 2018, 03:38:00 am »
Near enough enamored with Fia's voice alone, it was as if the wider world stopped being important for a moment. Right now, Luis was learning about one specific someone that while they were but a portion of that world, for a moment longer than he anticipated; held all of his attention. Luis lived for this; seeing others happy, passionate and confident. 'This world is exactly like he said... Its love and be loved.' Clearing his throat to avoid tripping over any words, Luis nodded before responding. "I'd be lying if I said I wasn't curious about what they might see regarding me." The fact that the triplets caught wind of the recent 'major' events piqued Luis' interest even more. "Wow... That sounds like quite a strenuous and taxing thing for-- as far as I can tell through what you've said so far-- children. I'm glad to know their talents have kept you and your family safe and that they're doing okay though." Luis sighed, before grimacing and making a disgusted chirp sound "Eugh..! I Wouldn't wish migraines upon my worst enemy." Luis further shuddered at the thought.

Resting his chin in his hands and also unknowingly getting a fraction closer to Fia in more ways than physically, Luis closed his eyes as a soft smile emerged on his face. "Indeed I do." He didn't need to see her put a hand on her cheek, he heard the humble yet uplifted tone in her voice all the more instead. Luis opened his eyes and began to speak shortly after Fia. "Mind reading? Oh heavens no, I'd say that is quite intrusive. I personally would prefer telepathy if I had any similar ability. I'd like to think of it as a mutual and willing synchronizing of the minds." With a somewhat matching coy snicker, he continued to speak. "Same page you say? That means we're reading the same book too, doesn't it?" Luis lowered his tone of voice only slightly, somewhat unaware of what he was doing... Flirting. "I think I rather like this book."

"Oh?" Luis gave Fia a playful smirk. "Given their collaborative inclinations to precognition, retro-cognition and intuition respectively? I would think at least one of them could have had an inkling that a special new someone would be born today~ You did say they have a bit of a reputation for being cheeky, who knows what they might be keeping secret as a surprise for an innocent little laugh."

With a big grin, Luis looked up towards his hair when Cherry complimented it. "Certainly is; and I have my mother's love to thank." A little spark of light cascaded off of his teeth accompanied by a 'ding', the flash of which was directed towards Luis' hair. Like it had done before, the smooth aurora borealis was once again projected just above his head. "This mmmiiight sound a bit weird, but I'm glad people take notice of it-- sure enough I would rather people want to get to know me for me as opposed to how I look, but when people point my hair out, I feel as though they are acknowledging and admiring the love my mother had for me. Does that make sense?"

Allowing the rest of the gathering to converse and share their joy for a moment; Luis absentmindedly checked his wrist-watch to get a bead on the time-- all things considered, time flies when you're having fun, and boy oh boy was he having a lot of fun. 'Wait a second--' He quirked an eyebrow just as the door of the café was unceremoniously swung open by perhaps one of the rudest little twerps to ever be born... Into some semblance of nobility, no less. 'Oh, fantastic. What is she gonna do this time?'

It didn't take long for Luis' question to be returned a predictable answer in its rudeness; Aceline had used all of her enraged brat-drenaline to heave one of the tables right into the air; sending everything on it upwards as well. "One sec." Luis' brow furrowed slightly as he swiftly and elegantly excused himself from his seat. It was as if he managed to glide across the floor, leaving nothing but a small harmless flash, outlining where he once sat. His eyes became laser-locked onto the wayward furniture installation and that which had once been stationed upon it. A nearly unnoticeable pulse of magic came from within him, deep within him. For a moment it was as if the flipped table and kitchenware had suddenly been slowed down drastically, nearly to a crawl! Did Luis perhaps have the talent for a form of Spectrum Magic too? Dark Blue Gravity or Green Stability seemed quite likely candidates.

Regardless, the shining wingman was able to deftly catch the table before it really went anywhere let alone cause any harm or end up as a proper disturbance to the patrons of Espresso Yourself. Yanezi was also quick to act as usual; having leapt into action much like Luis, saving the smaller items from a sad floor-like demise. "Yikes." Luis sighed as he gently set the table down. "Gee, I wonder who pissed in her cornflakes." He whispered under his breath to Yanezi before slowly carrying the lost table back to the right place. Soon enough; Luis would return to his seat across from Fia. "Sorry about that. Wouldn't want a rowdy little..." He coughed somewhat deliberately. "Wouldn't want anything to sour an otherwise nice lunch now, would we?"

"Oh, only if you so desire." Finding Fia's enthusiasm rather endearing, Luis also decided to play along further just as she did. It was fun, but also something more than fun. An odd thought that Luis couldn't quite decipher. "I know for a fact that it certainly doesn't hurt to listen~" He said with a light shrug and inviting, if not cheeky smile as he allowed Fia to speak, giving her his undivided attention. Being a man of patience, Luis was no stranger to listening to what others had to say. In Fia's case, especially. If the subject matter was not only as wholesome as it gets, but also happened to be something she was undeniably passionate about, he would simply encourage it. "Kreehee~ Sounds delightful. A trio of bubbly little troublemakers are they?"

Seeing such a jubilant reaction from Fia was remarkable to Luis. The chemical reaction that rippled through some spots on her skin, the flicker of mana that danced through her flames and the shimmering of her brilliant smile.

All of it made a difference.

Luis wondered if he was making a similar impact. "A wonderful impression, actually." Luis insisted. It was the first word he thought of that would be considered 'more' than good, but even this fell short in his mind somehow. He had little time or desire to dwell on it however. Instead, he simply enjoyed himself, laughing and giggling with Fia. There was a warmth coming from Fia, and in more than a literal sense. "Well..."  Luis sat across from Fia uncertain as to how he was drawn to her, and yet he welcomed it all the same. "Then I hope we can continue to make a difference to others, in a way just like this." Luis certainly intended to via his new employment in Fia's business, that's for damn sure.

Of course, Luis waited for the group to attend to their business-- they could come talk to him at their leisure. They didn't make him wait for long either way. Luis stood up and assisted Fia in re-arranging the seating plan by bringing over the chairs the other table had assigned to it. Motioning for the three new arrivals to take a seat as they desired, Luis returned to his own across from Fia. A few minutes later, some rather momentous news had been announced! Surely Cole's reaction out of the lot of them would be something to behold.

Luis figured it was best to allow family and the closer friends thereof to have a look first, in fact he was ok with not seeing anything, but with Fia being Fia, it was practically inevitable for the photo to be shared with Luis, regardless of him being a more recently made friend. "Kreehee~ Well would you look at that. I think the triplets are going to have some strong competition soooooon~!" Luis added amongst all of the congratulatory sentiments.

Following that, the young soda-shark introduced herself. "Not a problem, young lady, the more the merrier." Luis' brows seemingly raised in curiosity after hearing her name. "Oh? the very same Cherry that earned a Junior Heroics award a few months back? It is an honor. As you might have overheard, my name is Luis, some call me Lou." He said, offering a hand for Cherry to shake.

With a similarly over dramatic flair, Luis looked to Fia with a cheeky smirk. "No; I don't think I do. Mind cluing me in on just how difficult it is~?" Some small part of him didn't exactly logically believe it was all that difficult; if it was then Fia clearly had a wonderful family.

Using that same string of logic, given any prior conversation, Luis had now concluded that Fia was a wonderful lady to be around, and saw absolutely no reason to dispute her claims. Those friends of hers were quite lucky! "I'll just come out and say it; I can't see why they wouldn't confide in you." He said with a casual shrug, noticing the extra flicker in her eyes. Was this perhaps what he meant by implying Fia was more than she let on? The results were uncertain.

"Well, if I'm not careful.." In response to Fia's shameless blush and compliment towards him; Luis found himself experiencing much the same phenomenon. Though he was softly sparkling in general his cheeks managed to shine just a bit more-- becoming nearly white with a slightly blue tint. "Kreeheehee~" A bat-like laugh escaped Luis' lips. "You might just do the same."

After a moment to cool down (by finishing his drink strangely enough, considering it was anything but cold), Luis continued to speak following Fia expressing interest in the Echo Flower exhibit. "I would be happy to show you around that exhibit; I shall have to see when I'm scheduled for tours later."

Luis nodded. He was the type to prefer everyone was as safe as possible. "Not a problem at all."

Left to his own devices for a bit, Luis absentmindedly leafed through the newspaper at his table whilst also keeping an eye on Fia's precious violin. Soon enough; Fia had returned with a few additions to the happy little gathering. "Oh?" He looked up from the newspaper. "Cole here frequents the museum-- in fact, he has donated some of his personal findings to a few exhibits." Gesturing to a few other seats Luis smiled at the intrepid trio. "You're more than welcome to sit with us if you'd like~!"

"Proud..?" Luis asked, mostly to himself. That moment of questioning was short-lived and he simply continued smiling. "Heheh, I guess I am." His eyebrows raised as he silently whistled. Eight siblings? Now that was something and then some! Luis smirked at the notion of the following 'secret' being totally devious and mischievous. "Sounds like quite the competition. Not to worry--" Luis held a hand over his chest and the other up as if he was about to make an oath. "Your secret is safe with me."

Now it was Fia's turn to speak fully, aside from the odd nod and affirmation, Luis remained largely silent out of respect and occupied himself with his drink. 'People you love no matter what, huh?' As Fia spoke, Luis took the time to reflect on some things while at the same time giving her his undivided attention. A lot of what she said struck a chord with the man. Particularly when she admitted her sadness in regard to families that were broken in one way or another. "Yeah, I can't even begin to imagine how that must feel..." Except, he could. He knew but chose not to admit it. Anyone with even half a Soul would agree that scenario was horrid, and there would be no words to express how awful that must feel.

Fia confirming that she was quite protective of her siblings hit Luis right in the Soul as well. While ordinarily he would frown and in some way be sad, against what logic he happened to abide by; he smiled. "They've got quite the sister then, I think. Lemme tell you, I'd be lucky to even be slightly similar to you in this regard." Luis nodded and flashed a grin. "It makes perfect sense, I think. Looks like I asked the right person. Pssshh, puh-leaaasse, 'putting up with you'--" Luis emphasized with air quotes. "-- Implies you're anything but... Well, a joy to chat with. Its been fun."

Taking another sip of his drink, Luis thought about a few interesting exhibits to see at the Natural History Museum. "One of my favorite permanent exhibits is the evolution of the Echo Flower, it seems to be quite popular, actually. Hmm. Other than that, there is a new exhibit relating to some Ancient Monster species; its a relatively new exhibit that I'm yet to be given the briefing on, but I like what I've heard about it from co-workers."

"Yeah; like I said, I'm not sure of what to think given current events. I wouldn't want to take any risks but at the same time I'm not one to catastrophize."
Luis nodded in agreement to Fia's assessment of the rumors he had explained. "This all seems to have some basis in truth since I wouldn't pin a good friend of mine as a liar-- so it would be good if people are aware at the very least. Hopefully its nothing, though."

To her next question, Luis leaned back in his chair for a moment. What was it that caused him to make such an assertion that Fia had quite a lot of potential? "Well," He began, sitting up straight once more, setting his mug back onto the coaster he was provided before leaning onto the table with his elbows, resting his head in one of his hands in this moment of thought. "I for one think there is always more to a person than they let on, either due to the fact they're unaware of their hidden strength or if they hold back on purpose. We're always changing and growing, so... Does that make sense?" Seeing Fia so excited about Luis saying he was interested in working with her brought excitement to him as well, his wings fluttered slightly. "Heheh~ I won't disappoint, I assure you."

Glancing off to the side at the sound of a familiar voice Luis waved back to the second flame elemental that entered the establishment. "Oh hey Co--!" With a blast of glee, Fia was up, up and away, earning something between an amazed look of confusion and a shamelessly joyous smile. Only just barely hearing their conversation; Luis did some mental math to make sense of a passing thought. 'Well I'll be. How did I miss meeting her until now?'
